Her bounce worked, somehow he did not slap it away. She looked equally bits confused and excited about it. But her excitement turned to horror when the foulest burp in known Hoennian history emerged from Matias.

“Apology accepted.” No further comment needed to be made. She realized then and there that he probably wasn’t as big on hiding bodily functions in public. She returned her attention to the game just as the ball flew into her cup. Wait, did it bounce? She thought. She hadn’t paid attention, but she figured it hadn’t as she had not heard the sound of a bounce.

She scooped the ball out and chugged the beverage. She had to take a deep breath, followed by another until the drink found its place within her stomach. But in doing so a burp tried to do a daring escape, though she tried too hard it as best she could, it still escaped albeit only with a small audible cue.

Hoping Matias hadn't noticed, she quickly threw the ball, trying to bounce it once more.

“I can’t just let it out, that is bad manners!” Elinor stated. The alcohol in her veins made her completely oblivious to the fact that talking about manners at a bar was trying to win a losing battle. Impossible some might say.

Either way, Matias slaps the ball away, unfortunately for him causing him to have to go and fetch the thing. Laughing in the process as he gets back. “I am fee…” Before she can answer the ball was sent flying, and landed squarely in her cup once more. A sigh escaped her, as she knew what was to come. She scooped out the ball, took the cup, and chugged the content down before her stomach could complain.

“I am feeling full.” She took a heavy breath. “I should probably stop before it gets worse.” Her sentence slowly became a quiet mumbling rather than an actual reply to the question Matias had asked. She placed the ball down on the table. “Yeah, I think I’ve had enough.” She felt almost bloated as her stomach tried to contain and neutralize the alcohol within it.

It pleased her somewhat to know that she wasn’t the only one who was reaching the limit of their capabilities. Though Matias might have been simply saying so to not make her feel bad. It didn’t matter either way. “Thank you.” She accepted his praise. It felt nice to be praised for something so innocent as her ability to drink or at least keep up with someone who had a bit more experience in the field.

She felt the pressure of another burp making its way up. Though she tried to hide it as subtly as she could as it exited. Matias rounded the table in the process, she felt a pat on her shoulder and heard the question. She nodded. “Yeah, I will see you there.”

And with that seemed to conclude the evening’s festivities. A job well done, and lots and lots of alcohol consumed.
