he chuckles dryly, challengingly, as he takes a whiff of the new drink. "hm, what benefit is there to me in that arrangement?" his lips quirk into a coy smile, alcohol fueling a confidence he keeps hidden.

"i already know i would win, so what benefit would there be for me to simply prove it?"

"for one, the oh so compromising position twister causes."

he places two fingers underneath his chin in thought. it was of course, satirical, and only meant to get a rise out of the scientist.

"hm, nothing is coming to mind. do you have an example?" he smiles sweet and innocently.

greyson narrows his eyes, shifting them left, then right, at all the people seated around them. the ambiance of the room was loud due to the dozens of different conversations, so he wasn't nervous anyone would hear them, but...

"tell me, illie, how would you demonstrate here?" that would be a sight to see, in more ways than one.

her eyes flitter toward the patrons, the bar, and the small corridor beyond. somewhere in the shadows beckons for a show.

"bathrooms, alleys," she muses. a laugh brings with it her eyes, sharp and bright. "or simply taking the food to go."

his chuckle becomes nervous again, and a bit exasperated at how serious she was being, despite her tone. he takes another healthy sip of his alcohol, contemplating the thoughts as they muddle with alcohol.

"those are... interesting places," he plays his hand carefully, eyes narrowing slightly. "did you want to take it to go?"

of course, that was also a neatly way of asking a different question...

and when he plays his hand carefully, she doesn't fold. on the contrary, she raises the stakes by leaning across the table. her stare is curious, if not a little heated.

"do you?"

the heat rises again, more powerful than the one already in his cheeks from the alcohol. he avoids her gaze, looking off to the side.

"y-yeah, i'm sure it won't be as loud either, if we take it to go." when the waitress returns, he lets her know. thankfully the food was nearly ready, and didn't put them out of any real effort."

in the meantime, he drinks. he drinks a lot.

she grins, unashamed in excitement. and while the waitress preps their food to be taken home, she joins him in his endeavor to drink the nerves away. there's a buzzing between them, a coiled tension waiting to snap.

her second and third drinks are finished before the boxes arrive. and she can't help herself from leaning closer, lips finding his ear.

"it'll be a fun game of twister, i promise."

her breathe is hot on his ears and greyson's blush turns to discomfort beneath the table. he clears his throat, moving away from her whisper to take another sip.

"i'll hold you to that," is all the confidence he can muster, despite how flustered he felt right now, "i'll hold you to it." eventually, the woman does return with the (now) boxed food, and he thanks her with a generous tip.

once the cool wind of outside hits he smiles against it, stretching slightly. greyson turns to illeana with an eyebrow raised.

"so which house are we eating at?"

by the time the waitress returns with the boxed food, illeana's flushed and a little more free than before. she thanks the woman with a warm smile and bids her a good night as the cold awaits them.

"hmm," she hums, head tilting to one side then the next as if weighing the options. his or hers? she supposes, in the end, it doesn't matter when the result will be the same. and with a warm hand reaching for his, she tugs softly. "mine?"

the hand that reaches for his is soft, and warm. he accepts it, though he's still quite nervous about this change of pace. contemplating the options, and her choice, he shrugs and nods.

"sure, it's probably closer than mine anyways." he didn't have much alcohol at his either and had a sneaking suspicion illeana did.
