"thank you," she giggles. "you could come over more often, you know." they've been friends for how long and he's just now showing up at her house? unacceptable. we'll fix that.

he takes out and places his wallet, phone and keys onto the counter. as he does so, he shrugs at her comment.

"been busy i guess," it's a weak excuse, but he wasn't particularly extroverted. he was the type of guy that made plans, then regretted ever doing that when it came time to roger up.

"it's not like you been to my place either, y'know."

an eyebrow raises and for a moment, her movement stills. there's a look of annoyance that rises and falls in time with her heartbeat.

"because you never asked," she quips. her motions resume with a plate being set in front of him. she mirrors it with her own shortly after and leans into him to hand over a fork.

"i'd come over any time if you did."

he chuckles as he gets a rise out of her, reaching out and accepting the fork gladly. greyson fiddles with it in his hand, continuing his offensive.

"to be fair, you've never asked me over either." so, technically, they were mutually at fault. greyson less so, though, since he wasn't as forward as illeana.

"smells nice in here, though."

men... sometimes, they need a push or twenty.

she brightens at the comment. "thank you! it's, uh, one of those wall plug in things." a warm autumn smell all year round, too. it's amazing.

"now, pass me the fries," she grins, gesturing with her fork. "i have to eat them all on you."

"tonight doesn't count. we're obviously talking about the past." his tone is dry, and he rolls his eyes noticeably, all the while his hands maneuver to open the styrofoam boxes in front of him.

when he lands on the fries, however, he gives illeana a rather mischievous look. "these?" watching her, and feigning innocence, he takes a fork-full of the loaded fries and stuffs them into his mouth.

"mm, that's good."

[attr="class","illeana i"]she scowls, pretty face twisting up into an ugly expression.

"you're horrible." and yet, she laughs.

illeana's quick to move, quick to launch herself over to try and wrestle the fries out of his fork's aim.

"you said you'd share," she whines. she ends up with a pout and her body practically shoved into his personal space. another reach for the fries more than likely ends up futile.

his advantage, of course, lies in his superior height. easily he places both fork, and box above his head, braving the assault of the woman. her pout was adorable, but he was determined.

"man those were delicious. just the right amount of cheese, and bacon. mm." he's aware she's trying to topple him, but is having little luck doing so. she frame is tiny, but soft, and their repeated collisions are not... unwelcome.

he still doesn't let her win, however.

"i need a specific phrase, if you want these."

she presses herself closer, eyes locked on the prize. those fries, with their cheesy goodness and lots of bacon, will be hers. fuck you greyson.

his specific phrase retort is met with a fleeting glimpse of irritation, eyes shifting from the fries to his before retreating back. and again, she tries to throw the odds into her favor with a little more weight but the effort is met with resistance.

"please?"

fuck him and his height advantage. unfair.

he smiles sweetly, looking down on her.

"you'll need to come up with something more original than that."

"is that not the phrase? would you prefer to keep this going?"

"oh, no longer the wordsmith now are we?" all those times she teased him back at the restaurant had come back to haunt her.

did she think he'd let her off easy now?

"sounds like you're not really committed to getting some of these." as a show of his own talent, he cuts off another piece with the fork and stretches his neck to receive it.

"what, you want me to whisper sweet nothings in your ear?" the look she gives him borders on deadly. whether it's about murder or other means is left to be seen.

and when he stretches to bring the food on his fork to his mouth, she swoops her head in and tries to headbutt him out of the way.
