Eva frowns, just because they believed it didn’t mean they were stupid. What if the Ditto was already transformed into another pokemon? And legends stem from folklore, primarily based on things that happened in the past. The understanding of pokemon wasn’t always what it was today. Still, she doesn’t push the subject, as it’s something she’d rather not elaborate on any way.

“Indeed it does,” she considered, watching the Froslass engage with the Gengar. A Hypno also stands alert, watching the battle commence. It assumes Eva is hostile and sends a blast of confusion towards the Tepig.

The small pig oinks in surprise, juming up to BOUNCE on the Hypno’s head and knock it back. Eva takes the opportunity to toss a pokeball at the psychic-type.

She sighs, looking around with pessimism, “I don’t think I’m gonna find an Unown out here,” she admits, scratching the back of her head with her free hand.

"Why are you looking for an Unown anyway?" The young PokéManiac quizzically asked a rather dejected looking Eva. "Is this a common spot for Unown to show up?" The girl pondered aloud.

Meanwhile, Gigi was socializing with a wild Gastly in the background. The two members of the Gengar family made stupid faces at each other and cackled in unison. After having a good laugh, Gigi let the little ball of gas go on its merry way. She could never hurt a member of her own kin.

Eva watches the ghost slink back off into the darkness of the tree-cover. The forest is beginning to thin the further up the mountain they travel. It reminds Eva of the excursion she once partook in on Mt. Pyre, when they found another white tree. She’s still bitter from the encounter and their loss of the samples . . . and getting thrown off a cliff by bryan delarosa.

ANYWAY, she turns to answer Andrea’s question, “Yeah, they've been seen around here," it's a strange place so she's not surprised they have popped up every now and then, "Oh! Ummm have you ever heard of the Unown Report?” it wasn’t a secret. Everyone who competed in the strange cook-off and finished received a device.

"The Unown Report? Can't say I've heard of it..."" Before the bubbly assistant could inquire further on that subject, the earth beneath their feet shook, as a gargantuan Golurk approached, easily towering over the two humans.

"Oh my gosh, look at its size! How did we not notice it coming towards us?! Go, Gigi!" Andrea exclaimed, directing her mischievous Gengar to do battle with the ancient automaton. Her signature Confuse Ray did cause the Golurk to become, well, confused, but not confused enough to NOT retaliate with a super effective Magnitude, sending the smaller Ghost type flying back. "Wait, I thought Ground moves couldn't affect you. Don't you levitate?" The girl wondered aloud, visibly confused, even though she wasn't the one that had been hit by Confuse Ray.

Retconning Pokémon abilities aside, Gigi still had some fight left in her, hurling a mean Shadow Ball that stunned the wild Golurk. The gigantic clay golem staggered back and forth, its colossal frame finally leaning forward and slowly falling towards the group, who were engulfed by its massive shadow. "Uh oh..." Realizing that they were about to be crushed, Andrea hastily threw a Pokéball at the descending, dazed giant.

Eva shrugs, she didn’t expect everyone to know about it though it was quite the affair at the time, “Well, there was competition and –“ she’s cut off by the sudden appearance of the Golurk and the skirmish between the ghosts. Eva stays out of the pokemon’s way.

Unfortunately, the fight attracted a Delphox that didn’t seem too keen on these trespassers being on his mountain. With a wave of his furry a FIRE SPIN blasted towards them. The Blissey is quick to throw up a LIGHT SCREEN but that won’t protect them from the flames. Tupig bounce in front of Eva, firing off an array of PSYCHIC blasts to burst apart the flames and so they miss their targets and fall to the rocky path.

A deep, threatening HOWL pierced the eerie sky before Tupig fires off a sparkling POWER GEM to subdue the Delphox. Eva follows up with a quick pokeball to catch it, “Wow! That was quite the encounter,” she wipes her brow, sweating a little from the heat of the fire and the action.

It was quite the encounter indeed, but in the end, both trainers successfully captured their respective wild critters. And yet, the mountain had one last surprise to give them in the form of a nearby Junx practicing what sounded like a bombastic opera song. Like the saying goes, it's not over till the fat lady sings!

"A Jynx, huh? They say that their cries sound like human speech. Maybe it's the missing link between homo sapiens and Pokémon!" Andrea mused, gesturing for Gigi to engage the human-shaped creature in combat.

The grinning specter tried to sneak up from behind, but by the time she reached Jynx, the ladylike Pokémon turned around, puckered her big, rosy lips and gave her a Lovely Kiss. Yes, this writer is aware that both Pokémon are female, but this is an all-inclusive forum. The Gengar fell fast asleep, but sadly, Jynx had no attacks capable of hurting a Ghost type, so she just stood there awkwardly for a few minutes.

As soon as Gigi woke up, she struck the Psychic-type soprano with a Shadow Ball, rendering her unconscious. "Good job, Gigi! Let's bring this specimen back home." Andrea said, throwing one final ball at the defeated Jynx.

She had to give it to Andrea, her persistence was inspiring. Eva watched the girl scoop up the humanoid pokemon as a Golett scurried away. All Eva could do was shrug her shoulders, “Maybe! It’s a good thought!”

By now, Eva has lost her faith in scooping up an Unown. It seemed the mountain had other plans for her today, “It was nice meeting you, Andrea, but I think I’m gonna head home now. Thanks for chatting with me! If you’re ever in Ever Grande, say hi!” before she departs, she give Andrea a BUSINESS CARD with her contact information. Should she ever choose to, she could always reach out to the Head Professor with questions or just to say hi.

After a small wave, a Gallade appears. The Spoink and Blissey are returned, and Eva disappears in a flash of TELEPORT to head back to Ever Grande.
