Their proximity fade from her mind. All her thoughts could wrap itself around were the buzzing emotions that licked the side of her stomach, prickling her till she felt sick with heat.

Her brows dipped into a strong furrow as she spat out, "what? Did I hit a nerve?" Lips twitched into an impish grin as she swallowed down the ball of frustration that had collected in her throat. She couldn't let his words get to him. Even if they were true.

She'd hit the limit of his patience more than likely. With nowhere to go, he can't exactly excuse himself to take a 5 minute break in the bathroom to cool off. He'd stuck, boiling over with irritation for one mouthy redhead. In any other circumstance he would've looked away, would've kept as far away as possible form the woman. He's an awkward bastard. It's only sheer pride and anger that keep him so close to Penelope, maintaining eye contact. "Can't wait to get off this Godsforsaken death trap so you can go back to write irreverent trash for a tabloid." [break][break]

He sneered at the nickname, only dropping it the more she tore into him. "Oh- what's that? Just because I'm lucky enough to not get maimed I haven't done shit? Even if Penelope were to replay that moment in her head, over and over again, she wouldn't know where to start? In hindsight, it might've been his cologne that smelled like a fresh dewy morning, or the tickle of his low, and huskey breath against her skin. It could've even been the thrill of emotions that spun inside of her, as hatred and annoyance twisted into desire and temptation.

Whatever urged her to squeeze the trigger was irrelevant, because, regardless of the factors at play, the end result was fixed. With one solid push forward, her hands found themsleves at his cheeks all while she bridged the gap between them with a long awaited kiss.

He doesn't understand how an argument can go this badly and then suddenly flip on its head. Emotions flare, the space is small, Penelope is, regretfully, attractive- he can't explain it. He's just in it. [break][break]

It's infuriating. It's indignant. It's hot and despite whatever logical steps he would've thought to deescalate the situation his brain is not firing any cylinders right now. When their lips meet he hesitated for a second in sheer surprise before pushing back, desperate for more. His own hands, more calloused than hers, move to hold Penny's jaw trying to keep her as close as possible. [break][break]

It didn't take much convincing before he's already kissing back roughly, nipping at her lips to let him in.
