Nia's journey to get gym badges haven't stopped yet and today's destination is the Pacidflog Gym which is led by Temp. Nia enter the place and display her desire to challenge the gym in the traditional way which means a good old fashion 1v1 pokemon battle with the gym leader. Nia decides to use her ninetales for the fight and now she is waiting for what will happen next.

Temp's Gym was a large research ship, and they would be battling on the deck- in a swimming pool with pillars sticking out for land-based pokemon to hop around on.

He raised his hand when his new challenger entered the playing field, a large smile on his face.

"Hi! Are you Nia Acadia? I'm Normal Rararie! But please, call me Temp! I'm the Gym Leader here!" Chipper as always, Temp gave his introduction from his side of the field. A pink fish was already in the water, idling and swimming. "This Battle will follow standard League rules! As per my Gym Rules, challenger gets the first attack!" He motioned to his Bruxish. "This is the pokemon I will be using!"

Another swimming pool field, huh? What is with a gym leader with a swimming pool-like area? Nia can't help herself to remember her time challenging Melody's gym. On the bright side, that means she has some experience battling in a similar area like this. "Hello, Tempest Quinn. Nice to meet you and hope we could have fun in this battle" Nia smiles as she takes out her Alolan Ninetales. "This is the pokemon I will be using. This would be an interesting fight don't you think" Nia claims while Nina waits elegantly on the deck while her eyes keep darting to the Bruxish that is swimming on the water. "Then, let's bring snow into our party, shall we~" Nia snaps her finger as the hailstorm rained down due to Nina's ability, turning the area become colder. On top of that. Nina opens her mouth and blasts a cold wind to the water- ICY WIND - freezing it gradually to make Bruxish speed decrease.

"I'm sure it'll be a blast!" Temp answered back, all smiles. He nodded when he saw the Alolan Ninetails. He didn't know too much about pokemon that didn't live in the ocean and weren't native to Hoenn. One of the most fun things about this job was seeing so many cool pokemon! (pun intended)

"Freezing the water... that's a good strategy!" Was quickly praised. His pokemon wouldn't go down so fast, though. "You know what to do!" He called to his Bruxish. She snapped her jaws and the false flower on her head unfurled- psychic teeth forming in the air and trying to chomp down on the Ninetails.

Nia loves Nina, she really does. However, her pride could sometimes hinder her from doing an action and it can be clearly seen right now. "Dodge!" Despite Nia shouting the order, Nina stands strong until the last moment before she finally attempts to escape. However, the attempt comes too late and she still gets bitten partially. However, Nina is not that weak to be down just because she received damage. "Stay calm Nina, we will proceed with the next plan! Nina, use DAZZLING GLEAM!"

Nina's body is shrouded with beautiful light and Nina rush toward Bruxish like a meteor.

If Nina was rushing towards Bruxish, that means she would be hitting the water. A dangerous thing when going against a fish. Even if the top was partly frozen, Bruxish still gave a toothy smile and charged fight back towards the Ninetails. She took the full damage from the Dazzling Gleam- but in return, she tried to slam the other with an Aqua Tail.

"Bold strategy!" Temp called to Nia Acadia from his side of the field. "Not too many trainers let their pokemon in the water like that!" Unless they also had pokemon adept in the water, but he felt like that could go without saying.

It might be a bold strategy but she always kinda wants to lose herself in a bold strategy hoping for an unconventional result like how some books would tell their story. And the results make her smile while Nina just cries in annoyance. The attack was hit but by sacrificing its own body - Bruxish slams her with her tail and shoves her away. However, before she flies further - Nina's eyes fixated on Bruxish's body and Nia understands what Nina wants. "Freeze 'er Nina!" Nia shouts as Nina let out ICY WIND once again targetting right Bruxish and not the body of water.

The ice starts to collect around the Bruxish as she takes the attack. But Bruxish has a fire in her belly and she won't go down so easy. She swims forward as fast as she can, darting at the Ninetails before she tries to leap out of the water- trying to sink her actual fangs into the other pokemon with a Crunch.

Temp, meanwhile, nodded and hummed as he clearly was watching closely. Taking in the strategy that Nia Acadia and her pokemon were using to best him. Very interesting! He'd have to remember this one for later! Some of his own pokemon were Ice types, after all.

Unlike before, while the Bruxish tries to swim as fast as possible to launch an attack but because of Nina's previous Icy Wind attempt - It let her evade it beautifully. If Nina is someone who is more hotheaded and not a prideful and elegant behavior she would have try crash her whole body to the Bruxish but instead, right before Bruxish goes back to the sea - Her whole body starts to get coated with a dazzling light and she strikes the Bruxish with DAZZLING GLEAM. Meanwhile, Nia's eyes focus on the whole stage not wanting to miss anything minor that could help Nina if this is not the end. Nia makes a mental note to teach Nina a long-range attack to increase her arsenal.
