Matias’s assumption is right. Eris had failed to mention who her Pa was.

Chu-e Choi. The name is haunting. It bring back a painful reminder of others that are responsible for Kanto’s destruction, like THEO BECKETT and Cillian Quinn. They all live here, in Hoenn. As if nothing ever happened. Eris told her stories of how Rocket is ‘different’. Eva still struggled to understand how Eris Halla could love killers.

But that didn’t change what they did to Eva, and the other innocent people of Kanto. The League is far from perfect, but they don’t hostilely take over cities and raze towns full of innocent civilians.

This is what you get for letting people in: a broken heart and too many emotions to sort through. It’s too late for her now, but she also can’t wallow in her sorrow forever. Life moves on.

The coffee grows colder as she sips it. She’s lost her appetite for it so she gets up moments after he does to stand beside him at the sink. It’s uncharacteristic of her to waste anything, so discarding an entire half cup of coffee is telling.
