To be honest, if Eva had to choose one, she would choose Sea!Hoenn over Desert!Hoenn. Dry, hot, arid environments felt more uncomfortable than what they experienced. Of course, it’s all relative.

“Hm, maybe,” Eva moves past Matias, gently brushing his side as she does. She transfers the mugs into the empty dishwasher. It seems Matias hasn’t been doing much cooking lately. Everything remained untouched.

“That’s what I assume,” she shrugs her shoulders as she closes the appliance, “Considering all the Primal Energy surging through the area,” and they had visited Mt Chimney together after that, digging into the earth to find a tunnel Eva always assumed was a result of a Primal Energy surge. Despite there still being so many questions, it’s the only thing that made sense to her once Groudon has disappeared from Hoenn.

Eva cant’ help but grin, raising an eyebrow as she glances up at Matias with curiosity. He isn’t the most subtle and had obviously given some thought into where the titan had disappeared to – and how to find it.

“That’s a great question,” she leans her hip against the counter while crossing her arms over her chest. It’s one she’s thought about countless of times, but more so with Rayquaza in mind.

“Travel seems to be tricky, things are unstable and not consistent,” she shifts uncomfortably, “It’s something I haven’t quite figured out yet,” it’s hard to admit when you don’t have answers, especially when you’ve been working on it for so long. Her gaze shifts down, somewhat ashamed of not having the answers she should.

That’s what she keeps telling herself. Still, the answers evade her. She leans into his touch, finding a little bit of comfort in it, “I don’t know if I can,” she’s worked so hard, and the truth still seems to slip between her fingers.

A more important topic of conversation muffles her doubts. He needs Groudon?

She glances up at him in concern, “You need it? Why?” she shakes her head, “Matias, Primal Energy is dangerous . . . I’ve seen what it does to people,” her thoughts drift towards Bailey Cooper and Piggy Smalls, her body shivers beneath his touch. She couldn’t bear to see Matias suffer as they likely did.

But . . . Finding Groudon meant a chance at finding Rayquaza. In her opinion, the emerald dragon is her best hope at finding a way to destroy the meteor without having to sacrifice innocent lives. Eva has her own secrets.

Eva’s smile turns into a frown, playful, mostly. His ego gets in the way of his reason. Eva shouldn’t be surprised.

“Of course you’re different,” she entertains the idea, “But your liver isn’t any different,” she pokes his belly for emphasis, “I guess it doesn’t really matter, the red orb shattered,” that may actually help his argument. Without the Red Orb, his exposure to Primal Energy is significantly reduced.

What aids his argument further, is her own curiosity. Eva has never been able to deny herself the possibility for answers. They ventured to Mt. Chimney once to try and find the titan, but now she knows more. So, she contemplates it, pinching her brows in thought. It may help her find Rayquaza too.

Most of all, he’d do it anyway, no matter what she said. She may as well be there instead of giving him another reason to hide something.

matias remembers the red orb vividly. how it shattered, how the pieces of it were never recovered. one was used by regidrago but where are the others? lost in time and space?[break][break]

Again, her eyes roll, more subtly this time. Her lips pull into a smile to mirror his. It’s genuine and bright, brimming with anticipation for another adventure. She lets herself feel the excitement and the hope. With him, she could do anything.

He takes her hand, and she squeezes it back, “Yeah, no problem,” he could likely do it all on his own, but she’s happy he wants her to be there with him.

Eva’s mind is already racing with questions and lists of what she would need to prepare in the near future for their excursion. She’d need to review the material too to make sure she wasn’t missing anything. More studying.

Matias’s question pulls her out of her thoughts. It shouldn’t surprise her, but it does. Standing in the kitchen, holding his hand, talking about adventure; it makes things seem quite normal. Well, normal for them.
