it had been sitting right in front of him the entire fucking time. the PERFECTLY CYLINDRICAL tunnel. the absence of primal energy except within the rocky walls of mount chimney. no groudon. no regidrago.[break][break]

a void in time and space. in realities and universes.[break][break]

if only he hadn't been so thickheaded then maybe he would've come to the conclusion months ago:[break][break]

groudon and regidrago are in another universe.[break][break]

"Sure, no problem. Who exactly are we helping? You haven't really explained much." she said as cobalion stood by her side, Melody waving to vrizion to acknowledge her presence as cobalion offered his typical nod. [break][break]

"This is...weird." she said looking around the hole, it was perfectly cut..this couldn't have been man made could it? "Was this all you?" she asked pointing to the hole as her free hand took out it's pokeball and showed it to him "Yeah he's inside." she tells him referring to the relicanth

arriving at the oddly-carved tunnel that he found months ago with Eva Morales, matias casts a sweeping glance around. it seems it has been left untouched, likely unfound by anyone else.[break][break]

But how exactly was Relicanth going to help out? He couldn't really use any kind of special powers or anything like that..but she wasn't the type to really ask questions. [break][break]

She sent the Relicanth out, it's rainbow crystals lighting up the area slightly as Relicanth looked on joyfully at melody as it was happy to see her. She patted him on the head "Hello my dear, how are you feeling?" she said giving him a good pat on the side of his body as he couldn't feel the crystals according to what James had told her so far. [break][break]

"Ok, now what?" she asked as she backed up from the Relicanth and turned towards Matias as Cobalion moved over towards virizion, locking eyes with her as they silently communicated with one another. Cobalion's gaze turned towards the walls, noticing how..unusual they were. Not even they could carve something so smoothly. [break][break]

What was Matias's goal?

it's dark in the tunnel. void of light, life, and everything in between. the relicanth appears, primal quartz glistening from the brief flash of light.[break][break]

even as melody interacts with it, he feels no guilt; an absence of it, rather.[break][break]

"now..."[break][break]

matias takes a few steps back as well only for another pokeball to flash open. charizard's flame burns bright, casting enough light across the tunnel for them to have a clear view of what's about to happen.[break][break]

sensing matias' intentions, virizion looks to cobalion, ready to intervene.[break][break]

but nothing can stop what's to come.[break][break]

"...we burn it."[break][break]

a stream of fire erupts from the MEGA-EVOLVING charizard, spilling forth to quickly wrap around the relicanth in a fiery vortex. shields of PROTECT enact from virizion but it's no use. the flames crack through, burning and suffocating.[break][break]

Z-MOVE: HURRIFERNO[break]
charizard traps the target in a vortex of flames that BURNS and BINDS the target. this prevents them from escaping.

Melody heard the pokeball opening as it was accompanied by a sudden bright orange light.[break][break]

"Matias?" she said turning over to look at him before a barrage of fire threatened to hurt her as well. She tried to move out of the way but she wasn't fast enough. [break][break]

But Cobalion and virizion were.[break][break]

After she was a safe distance from the attack she processed what had happened. Her Relicanth's body was consumed by the flames of Matias's z-move. There was time! She attempted to use her pokeball to recall it but the z-move fended off the beam of light. She sat there horrified at the sight as a migraine washed over her like a tidal wave, ordering her to stop being emotional as some of the veins in Melody's head began to take on an inky black color. [break][break]

"RELICANTH" she cried out as Cobalion held her back with his own body and Virizion moved over as well. "NO! PLEASE! STOP! YOU'RE KILLING HIM!" she cried out as she was forced to watch what would happen to her precious pokemon. "MATIAS!" she cried out again hoping this was all just a cruel dream. But it was not. [break][break]

Cobalion drew his sword ready to strike the man down.

PRIMAL

MEGA EVOLUTION. Z-MOVES. PRODUCT AND ADVANCEMENT FROM ENERGIES EVER PRESENT IN THIS WORLD. They collide with the ancient powers that lie within the Relicanth's crystalline growths. Crash together in ways both seen and unseen.

A blinding light engulfs everything, everywhere, all at once. Silence fills the vacuum for the smallest second. Then the world resumes.

Somewhere else.

Before Melody Miro, her Relicanth lies in horrible shape. Its rocky jaw opens and closes, gasping for air- but all it tastes and swallows is blood.

Several if not all of its quartzes are missing. In their place, horrific holes. Dimensional travel has gouged the fish out. It is still alive. For now.

Somewhere in original Hoenn, Amor Rose, Eva Morales, and illeana reyes would be alerted to activated primal node devices stationed around the mountain.

They find themselves in a lush jungle. Hoenn, but not. It's sweltering. Humid. Sweat immediately clings to the skin.

Through the jungle, a HYPER BEAM is loosed. Cuts through multiple tree trunks, forcing Archen and Tropius to flee. A tattooed man runs before halting before you.

"was this your doing?! groudon is dead because of you!" The jungle rumbles. "chhhk--!! posthaste, they are coming!

Behind him, a rampaging Regidrago and Groudon fight over a chunky red shard of stone lodged in the legendary titan's dragon-jaw like arm.

POSSIBLE OBJECTIVES:
1. Save Melody's Relicanth.
2. Quell the fight between the titans.
3. Return to your world.

it's bright and blinding until it's not. matias blinks, adjusting to the sudden change in temperament only to focus on what remains of her relicanth. his attention quickly shifts, however, to the sight before him.[break][break]

his lips curl into a grin.[break][break]

"look at them."[break][break]

titans of their world. gods. beings of pure power and might. he cannot help but laugh in disbelief at the pure sight of them clashing before him.[break][break]

the tattooed man is met with a look of indifference.[break][break]

"my groudon is right there."[break][break]

very much alive. and it looks like it needs his help.[break][break]

he casts his glance over to virizion as he climbs onto charizard's back. he gestures over to the fighting titans, still grinning.[break][break]

"this was the fight i promised. are you in or are you out?"[break][break]

the brandishing of her LEAF BLADE is telling enough.[break][break]

She was waking up. [break][break]

The world around her faded away as she looked on in horror at what remained of her Relicanth. Her hands trembled as there was blood, so much of it. [break][break]

Yet amongst the pooling blood she saw the faintest hint of life within Relicanth's body, it attempted to try and breath in air but blood filled it's body instead. She grasped the pokeball and recalled the pokemon to it's pokeball, hoping it could hold out until she could resolve this situation. [break][break]

She stood up, finally noticing they were in a jungle, she didn't care, she was getting ready to leave to prioritize the Relicanth's safety. [break][break]

Matias could be dealt with later, or so she thought. [break][break]

Suddenly a hyper beam rampages through the jungle as matias grins afterwards "Your Groudon?" she asked as she started to put the pieces together. She stared at him in horror before horror turned into anger as she realized his goal the entire time. "You..you tricked me.. You knew I'd never agree to it cause it'd kill him.." [break][break]

"You MONSTER." She shouted at him "You knew how much my pokemon mean to me. How could you?! You...you're just like the others!" [break][break]

The pounding in her head grew louder and louder as scenes she had forgotten began to resurface in her mind, accompanied by a sharp pain as the black substance on her became more prominent. "You used me..for your own gain." as she gripped Relicanth's pokeball. [break][break]

"Cobalion. Do you remember the promise I made to you?" she asked him as she clenched her fist. He looked to her, nodding his head before closing his eyes. When they reopened his gaze locked onto Matias, he moved towards Virizion his eyes asking her if she was going to raise her sword against his. But he knew she was one eager for a fight as Melody pulled out another pokeball "Don't call me Melly." [break][break]

"Only my friends get to call me Melly. You monster." [break][break]

"You aren't fighting anything, you're going right up to dahlia goode and telling her what you just did. I hope you rot." Noivern is released from it's carrier and she gives her pokemon their directions. She knew he wouldn't come quietly, not if he went this far. "Noivern. Dissonance. Cobalion, presto." she says as Melody mount's Cobalion and they began to stir. Noivern flew into the air, using super sonic on Matias and Charizard to confuse the Pokémon and make it difficult for it to fly. Groudon and Regidrago get swept up however in the attack as well, drawing the titan's gaze towards the former friends. In that opening Cobalion drew his sword and used smart strike on the Charizard aiming to keep the pokemon on the ground.

monster. monster. it isn't the first time he's been called one but the circumstances have always been different. members of rocket accusing him of being a monster is like the pot calling the kettle black. but when it comes from someone as good and pure as melody, it carries a different weight.[break][break]

cobalion raising his sword is met with coldness. virizion doesn't directly contest him but she doesn't step aside either. she remains steadfast, strong, and stubborn; perhaps she and matias have more in common than the two realize.[break][break]

SUPERSONIC is buffeted away by a strong gale of HURRICANE that whips as charizard and matias take off into the sky. SMART STRIKE never lands as virizion's PROTECT deflects it away, buying matias and charizard enough space to fly towards the two titans.[break][break]

"DON'T GET IN MY WAY."[break][break]

a final warning is shared with his friend before he turns away. his focus needs to be on the fight ahead. fuck whatever repercussions may come. a pokeball bursts open, providing support.[break][break]

virizion turns as well to follow, disappearing into a green blur.

She frowned as he dared to try and order her, Rapunzel was freed from her tower. She wasn't going to obey anyone right now. [break][break]

As they vanished into the jungle Melody frowned, he managed to parry her attacks. "After them." she says as she mounts Cobalion and Noivern took to the Skies. [break][break]

She opens another pokeball as Matias decided to use another Pokémon to battle. A surge of water would chase after Matias as Melody had released her galarian slowbro who had used surf. Cobalion had cut the bark of a large tree and used it as a psuedosurfboard to ride along the wave as Noivern followed them from above. Choosing silence as she gave out her orders again to her pokemon chasing after matias and subsequently heading towards Regidrago and Groudon. [break][break]

"Cobalion, aria. Noivern. Aria" she orders as Cobalion uses coaching to enhance noivern's attack and it fires off an air slash attack on Charizard

togekiss lingers in the air, hovering and fluttering about like cupid only to dive back down into the scene to position itself between noivern and matias. one of its wings lifts to flip the noivern off, coaxing it with a FOLLOW ME.[break][break]

the AIR SLASH travels, finding its mark on the poor togekiss as it lets out a cry. it falls down only to flutter about near melody.[break][break]

with the path ahead clear, matias catches a glimpse of red lodged between large maws, and it's then that a plan forms.[break][break]

"LEFT!"[break][break]

they veer off, empowered by the DROUGHT that pours from above, and much like atop mount chimney months prior, matias joins the fight.[break][break]

virizion's SACRED SWORD drags across regidrago's legs, looking to knock it over while paving the path for matias and charizard to swoop in with a DRAGON PULSE before reaching for the CHUNKY RED SHARD OF STONE.

Although the SACRED SWORD connects, it does not knock the titan over. The blade skids across its stubby legs before they lift from the ground. In a startling discovery, they find that the Regidrago can float.

As the DRAGON PULSE is fired, the Regidrago immediately snaps its jaws together to consume the attack. Alongside Melody Miro's attacks, this erratic movement forces MATIAS SILPH and his Charizard away from the CHUNKY RED SHARD.

Absorbing the DRAGON PULSE'S ENERGY—and the crimson energy emanating from the shard—the Regidrago retaliates and launches a DRAGON ENERGY beam that swings toward MATIAS SILPH, Melody Miro and the tattooed man.

The man leaps out of the way- and before the DRAGON ENERGY can create further damage, the Groudon assaults the Regidrago with the earth.

"yes, this land's groudon!" The man growls, lifting himself from the charred jungle ground.

But if this is supposed to be the "past" from Desolate Land, how come the current Groudon can continue to exist?

POSSIBLE OBJECTIVES:
1. Save Melody's Relicanth.
2. Quell the fight between the titans.
3. Return to your world.

What the fuck? He wasn't even acknowledging that she was there! She didn't have much time to think as the dragon energy beam was rapidly swinging towards her. [break][break]

"Shit!" she cries out as Cobalion quickly moves out of the way, just barely managing to leap from the psuedo-surfboard as her Noivern manages to dodge it as well, however slowbro was not as lucky as he got swept up in the attack and got hit from it. [break][break]

She wants that red orb so bad? Fine, she was going to fucking take it for herself. "Slowbro! Disable that..thing" she says pointing towards that dragon like creature that fired that rather destructive attack. Slowbro's eyes flashed a pink light as it attempts to seal away as much of that power as it can. [break][break]

it was getting in her way. [break][break]

"I cant believe you! Betraying my trust like that!" she shouts at Matias as Noivern swoops in and decides to strike at everyone with a boom burst attack, sweeping up matias's , melody's, redidrago, and the groudon. Cobalion braces against the impact since he cant avoid it but quickly recovers as he sets his sights on the Charizard who was the immediate threat for himself "Cobalion! Forte!" she calls out as the ground underneath where charizard was flying over quickly rips up and sends a stone edge towards the mega pokemon. "And for WHAT? A HUNCH? Did my friendship mean so little to you?!"
