Beautiful Bellona at his side, Barnaby returned to the very garden in which he and the HOUNDOOM had met. It was here, amongst the ambient glow of the crystablooms, that Martín del Mar had gifted her to him for his 28th birthday. Not only that, but also a gilded collar containing a mega stone of the Houndoominite variety.

It was this phenomena that piqued Barnaby's curiosity on this clear late-Spring morning. He hadn't witnessed the power of Mega Evolution just yet, and figured it smart to do so before getting into a serious altercation.

"Bellona," He called out, readying his mega accessory (which was in the form of a ring). "Prepare yourself." Barnaby could feel the energy gathering in the ring's central stone, which began to glow a deep crimson, matched with the mega stone around his HOUDOOM's neck.

Suddenly, the dog was engulfed in a spherical surge of light, the shear power of which was enough to push back nearby grasses and forbs. Soon enough the energy subsided, revealing an altogether different HOUNDROOM than what had been present moments before.

She was utterly marvelous. A terrifying force, having grown in size by almost two feet - taller than BARNABY FINCH himself! Martín del Mar had certainly been right when he said Bellona would be able to keep him safe in dangerous situations.

"Wonderful, love." Barnaby commended, holding his hands up, palms open, for his HOUNDOOM to rest her head on. "That wasn't so bad, was it? You seem to like it, actually."

Like it she did. This previously untapped power was invigorating for Bellona - so much so that she began to zoom around the garden, flexing her toned muscles as she sprinted. Caustic smoke plumed from her nostrils with every breath, while fire licked at the edges of her jowls. She was truly a terrible sight.

Which is why it was surprising to Barnaby when he saw a small YAMASK materialize from the shadows, curious about the commotion. But, when opportunities arise, he was never one to pass them up. It offered them a perfect target to practice with.

"Bellona," Barnaby beckoned, gesturing to the Ghost-type Pokémon. "Dark Pulse."

Immediately, a sinister energy began to build around the HOUNDOOM's maw. In the time between the cultivation of the attack and its execution, the YAMASK fixed Bellona with a MEAN LOOK, warning her to stay away.

She didn't, of course, and the DARK PULSE hit its mark. The Spirit Pokémon was subsequently sent backwards by the force of the attack, rendering it prone and capturable.
