[attr="class","textbox"] with the help of the holo tech provided by Remiel Calcifet and oscar clayton , rockets training facilities are state of the art. it's unfortunate that jayden never got to experience it for himself, considering he was absent for the official spectra exams, but it was certainly an interesting prospect to explore. he's grateful that he's been allowed permission to access it for this particular training session, as he's eager to see the bounds of it's capacity.

[break][break] he's told that the tech is not going to be as real as the ones rolled out for the spectra exams, but it is an interesting simulation nonetheless.

[break][break] he waits in one of their rooms, having already set up the room for his future session with nina larson . jayden doesn't know much about the grunt, other than what THEO BECKETT had told him and filled him in on, but he is always eager to meet newer recruits. it reminds him of his old days as a rocket trainee, spending time with the pryde siblings.

nina had just been gearing up in her training prior to the exams, and had unfortunately not been called upon for the new system’s trials. since then, however, she’d heard stories, and looked forward to the day that she might have the opportunity to train in the same way as rocket’s elite.[break][break]

she still didn’t have a teleporting pokemon of her own, so the trip to the sub had consisted of a dive with the assistance of her dewgong. she’d arrived, pulled on a bit of comfy athleisure she’d brought along, and made her way through the submarine to the training facilities which had become so familiar to her.[break][break]

unaware of what jayden looked like, the way she poked her head in initially was a little tentative. she hung in the doorway, hands looped into the straps of her bag. [break][break]

when jayden explained, nina looked around them again, as though she hadn’t already. she nodded, and took the helmet, but didn’t put it on just yet. he would probably tell her when, right? would it be instant immersion, she wondered?[break][break]

"these aren't the same ones that were used in spectra, though i believe they may be similar." the holotech technology was interesting, and exclusive to the spectre agenda, after all. "either way, this shouldn't hurt."

[break][break] gently, he places the helmet onto her and carefully makes sure everything is in place. the helmet shouldn't be too heavy - it was rather similar to any VR technology that existed - and he reaches over to click something in to place, before stepping back and doing the same to himself.

[break] "ready?"

[break][break] once given the okay, jayden turns around and presses a button.

[break][break]

[break][break] seconds later, they are teleported into a virtual reality where there seems to be nothing but blue skies and endless grass. nina larson would see jayden just a few feet away from her, looking nearly identical, except from where he stood in front of her he obviously looked like someone that was part of a ninja class, dressed in black fabric with glowing shuriken at his waist. all in all, he didn't look that different from he did in the real-world.

she eyed the helmets in his possession curiously as he approached, and was sure to be still when he reached up to place one on her head. she allowed him to situate it without protest, patiently waiting.[break][break]

the transportation was almost dizzying. she looked around her as she held her stomach, in awe of their surroundings. her turning gaze paused on jayden upon seeing his get-up. was he… a ninja now? she hadn’t heard about that feature.[break][break]

wondering if she’d also gained the same attire, she looked down. instead, she’d become more like a mage. she marveled at the airy and colorful fabric that adorned her now, made of all colors of the sunrise.[break][break]

she looked up at jayden again.[break][break]

”we have different clothes,” she pointed out obviously, clearly surprised by the fact. ”why are we dressed like this? why are yours different than mine?” more specifically, why did he get to be a ninja and not her?

[break][break] immediately, a coat sweeps out behind him and a sword is attached to his hilt. he looks like a whole new person — well nearly, if not for the fact that his hair and eyes change little.

[break][break] "have you ever played a video game, nina? or — given thought to which class you might like to try?" obviously, this would never work in the real world. at least, not so easily. but it would give jayden a good idea as to which blank slate that they should start with.

there was a small, weak laugh which quickly fizzled out. the beast seemed to be the most stoic of all the ones that she’d met so far. definitely a more rigid personality than bryan delarosa or Alexandra Briarwood , at least at first take. it was still early, though.[break][break]
had she ever played a video game? actually, she hadn’t.[break][break]
”no… but i’m sure i can figure it out.”[break][break]
she had confidence; it meant she wasn’t familiar with anything like classes, though. when she looked at the menu, her expression was more lost than anything.[break][break]

jayden seemed to agree, although she barely caught it, too distracted and in wonder. she raised her wrist in a delicate wave, enjoying how the simulated fabric moved in a flowy wisp in her wake. it fell to her side again. pretty.[break][break]

wait. attack him? wasn’t this supposed to be with pokémon, still?[break][break]

”uh... okay.”[break][break]

she took a few steps back, and her hands raised, as though she might grab him—or something. then, her face broke to reveal her inner struggle.[break][break]

this was hardly her first time when it came to battle training; however, it was a first to be asked to simply summon powers. she was no avatar. where was the spellbook?[break][break]
she stared for a beat with an odd twist in pursed lips.[break][break]
”uh… yeah, it makes sense, i guess.” no, it didn’t. there was another pause. ”guess i’ll give it a shot.”[break][break]
steps were taken in reverse, eyes closing to concentrate before her arms came up dramatically, circling around as she spun once in place. it just felt like the right thing to do.[break][break]
to her great surprise, something happened.[break][break]
the air around her started to spin, more violently, as though she’d become the eye of a hurricane. her eyes popped open with a gasp, and she grinned mischievously at jayden through the wind.[break][break]
fingers raked in the force around her and thrusted it towards him.
