"We're all here in good faith, after all. No one wants to be thrown overboard with legendaries in the waters." Her casualness does little to conceal the steel underneath. The slip-up - legendaries - is followed by a quirk of her lips towards Cillian Quinn .

Skyler bites her tongue at the mention of Granite Cave, eyes flitting from person to person as they relay their own experiences - until angelo vestri speaks up, and then she finds her nails digging painfully into the railing. Breathing takes a backseat against the shock that slams into her like a bucket of ice-cold water.

This was the first time she was hearing about this trip of his into Granite Cave following Father Winter's invitation.

Fair enough, their businesses had always been their own and Angelo wasn't the only one keeping things close to his chest. But Skyler's throat still constricts painfully, the tang of salt-stained air stinging all the way down to her lungs.

(The captain tries not to remember the blood on her hands, the slashed throat. The milky white dulling into grey. That last quiet 'thank you' that she never thought could feel like such a curse.)

"I was also invited to Granite Cave, and sent into an alternative Lilycove." That is all that she's willing to say on the subject, expression closing off against any inquiries. "I was definitely not Father Winter's favorite." She makes a point to specifically avoid Angelo's eyes.

Slipping into the background is easy once the others join the conversation. Xander doubted they noticed him slink off to the side. He leaned against the ship's railing, eyes on the ocean. [break][break]

It’s funny how priorities change what one does and doesn’t notice. Talk of Dimension hopping, Father Winter, Granite Cave? Barely registers on Johanna’s radar, not even a nervous blip besides her initial confusion. But when the conversation turned to Legendary Pokémon, well she was all ears.

Gavin’s confirmation eased her somewhat, right up until he mentioned Team Rocket. Her eyes shot open and her mouth dropped, for a moment she was about to admit the same, but she stopped herself just in time, though she hoped it hadn’t been too obvious. She figured if he was a higher-up and knew she was a part, then there was no reason for her to admit it and if he didn’t, well, she couldn’t step on his toes if he didn’t know she worked under him.

Not long after, Gavin’s words were welcomed by Skylar’s threat. Yes, threat, for that was how Johanna perceived it. She even noticed the plural usage of legendary. Alas, this time she was too slow to stick her nose into a matter which was maybe better left unanswered? Instead, she simply hid in the background and watched the conversation unfold.
