After certain events with the good Commissioner, Paxton had been pulled- or well, recommended for a few more escort missions. His involvement with Eva Morales hadn't been high octane as it had with dahlia goode , but league personnel was still league personnel.

Today he was meeting the esteemed GABRIEL BLACK based on some whispers that Kyogre based cultists where planning on flooding the Slateport Beach as well as possibly sinking ships. All in one fell swoop. Upcoming thunderstorms had been predicted in the forecast, and rumor had it that these natural storms would be used to bring down hurricanes through use of ritual and many, MANY pokemon. That's all they had on intel at the moment. Considering the dangers of last time, and the appearance of the assassin during a simple observation mission, Paxton had been loaded out again with a full kit. Body armor, extra ammo, night vision etc. Concern was growing, and while it was unlikely for the Councilman to be attacked in broad daylight, on this type of mission there was that risk. Small, but still there. After all, he doubted Dahlia going out to look at flowers had been on any public itinerary.

"They're said to be posted on a small sand bank outside the harbor, sir." he said as they arrived to the edge of the docks, the light drizzle of rain and waves making for an ominous start to cult hunting.

"Understood." He sent out Joules, the Magnezone breaking off from their position a few feet next to him with a simple gesture and a quick beep of confirmation. The Magnezone moved up, beginning their assault strong and hard. Magnets twirl with increasing speed, and electricity crackled as it coalesced into a single beam before being unleashed on the Kyogre cultists, ZAP CANON slamming into multiple pokemon currently working on bringing the storm surge.

"This area should be cleared out due to the weather, but I'll keep an eye out for stragglers." he added turning from the councilman towards the rest of the beach. Joules could handle attack protocols easily enough. That much is evident by the sudden swerve against a BUBBLEBEAM attack before it launched another ZAP CANON.

"Thank you, sir." he said, voice just loud enough to be heard above the storm as the downpour continued. He trailed close to the councilman, watchful. He perked up at the question, watching Joules get pushed back by a MUD SLAP. The Kyogre cultists were fighting back now, releasing pokemon to gang up on the electric type. Caution increased considering part of the ritual had been conducted amongst the foam and waves that lapped the shore.

He immediatly called out Hooke, his Torterra who sunk a little in the soft sands but moved forward upon seeing his colleague in trouble. After a look over the forces, though overwhelming unorganized. If he asked, he believed his team could hit the weakest points of their enemy. "It would be difficult, considering the numbers, but I have an effective strategy they will work." he explained, as someone in the center sent forward a pair of Quagsires to repel Joules.

Hook is already pushing for backup opening his mouth to roar and release a LEAF STORM. A Greninja moved from the shadows pushing past, flanked Swanna as they dove towards Gabe only to let out a shriek as it disappeared from sight. Finally, the adrenaline begins to kick in. "Sir-" But he's already pulling for a third pokemon to let his Sigilyph out to help cover them form the assassin that had tracked Gabe down.

the UNOWN appears from a rip in space not too far off, its '!' shaped body perhaps some cruel joke, as it attempts to surprise the councilman.

a blade wreathed in shadow slices through rift and pokemon alike, the NIGHT SLASH cutting through the creature's delicate skin with ease. before it even could collapse into two pieces, the rift sucks it back through.

veneer, his kabutops, stands drenched in the pouring rain, its scythe like arms gleaming beneath pale moonlight, dripping trails of water at its tips. she cocks her head and hunches her back, watching, waiting.

Coriolis shrieked moving in close to his trainer. Seeing he was already aiming a loaded rifle, he set up an immediate LIGHT SCREEN around Paxton. "The councilman-" he began head swiveling as he waited for the next shot amongst the chaos. The dual type raised his barriers accordingly as Paxton moved in close to the bigger man.

"Yes sir, my team is at your disposal." He said, letting out a sharp whistle commanding Joules attention as it zip zapped around cultists in an attempt to paralyze. "Support Councilman Black." As he said this he turned his body, grip tight as he watched a bleeding Unown ! Appear, hurt but still willing. Its trainer barely visible amongst the rain and dark clouds but enough of a silhouette to trade blows. He pulled the trigger, frowning as he felt his breathing hitch. The shot goes wide, grazing a shoulder as the pokemon sent a direct shot at GABRIEL BLACK , denting the light barrier and leaving small cracks.

Out goes the casing, landing on wet sand as Hooke sent out another LEAF STORM at a couple of Quagsires still causing trouble.

At the Councilman's words, his pokemon tone it down. Moving in to corral those cultists who were returning fainted pokemon and trying to make a break for it. Hooke managed to snatch up the cultist, wrapping them in vines and immobilizing them while Coriolis' TAILWIND cut other runners off from escape.

He just barely had the time to glance back at Gabriel before the assassin shifted, their Unown taking another shot at the the LIGHT SCREEN protecting the councilor. Paxton responded in turn, firing at the pokemon and watching one of its tiny limbs go flying. Steam rolled off the casing as it went flying, another round locked and loaded. He Unown is shaking, and it and trainer disappear. Paxton waited once more for another attack, tense but ready.
