In the end, the wild, untameable nature of the Meteor Falls kept reminding her of home. Of better times, quieter times, long since past. Safer times, too, but with her line of work "safe" was heavily redundant, she could try, but in the end being passive about anything would not land her jobs. It would not let her overcome the hurdles thrown unto her path, and she wouldn't have succeeded in so many of said jobs if she had merely played things safe. Although not every time, Yvaine enjoyed the thrill of a dangerous situation every so often, to stay on her toes.
It's why a surprise hike had been her go-to as of late. She'd purposely steered clear of the paths other people took and had ventured towards its steep cliffs and rugged slopes. Zoroark had been with her for most of the way, but now even her favored friend had trouble scaling these mountains, and had been recalled so that the red-haired mercenary could continue without worry. She was free-climbing at that moment, the minimal amount of gear strapped around her waist, an extra rope on her back, prematurely fastened to a locking carabiner just in case anything went wrong. Experienced as she was, courtesy of her father's rigourous training, Yvaine did not take chances... not too many, anyway.
A subtle change in the wind made her stop, steading herself on the rocky surface. High in the mountains an otherwise gentle gust could become a traitorous thing if one didn't pay attention. But this was different. She could almost feel the wind vibrating... and growing louder... no, that wasn't the wind. There was no way the wind would do that. A pokémon...? Tightening her grip Yvaine turned her body 90 degrees, and her head even further, to see what was happening behind her.
