it's as much of a promise as he'll make before turning to address the klink. overqwil's moveset is garbage against it but thankfully theo's peace offering of a poffin is enough to placate it into a pokeball.

Theo's answer was disappointing, but understandable. Not everyone had access to a strong ride Pokémon, though. That was something Josh had to understand when he took on the responsibilities of a Gym Leader, even if it was in the Minor League. "That's why the option is there," he answered. "Looking forward to it!"

Josh had completely lost track of time; as he checked his phone to see how late it was, he caught a glimpse of a Pachirisu scampering beneath Aslan's legs. "Oh wow, it's already after sundown," he remarked aloud. "Hard to believe how much time flies when you can't see the sun."

luckily for the underboss, he has no other plans this evening so he's keen on continuing on without his new acquaintance Josh Devlin.

a final encounter with a klefki will see them off. with it DESTINY BONDED with the overqwil, it's forced to concede to the pokeball or risk something fatal.

"Great talking to you, Theo!" Josh waved goodbye to the traveler. "Hope we meet again!" It was time for Josh to leave, as well. He needed to find some lodging in Mauville proper. Night travel was not advised unless one was specifically looking for nocturnal Pokémon. Thankfully he wouldn't have to travel too far at night to get back to the city proper, what with New Mauville being located just to the south of the city proper.

He caught sight of a Luxray patrolling the place - what a find! While it wasn't quite as big as he anticipated Blitz would grow once he evolved, a second Luxray would be very good to have around, if only as a potential Gym Pokémon. The non-traditional challenges he had in mind could be run with a certain level of autonomy and a substitute, if he needed to be away from the Gym for an extended amount of time. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Josh slid off Aslan's back, the Luxray immediately taking heed of the trainer's verbal command to have his Pyroar crash into it with a TAKE DOWN. The wild's THUNDER SHOCK stung, but it nor a second didn't stop his mighty charge. With a roar, the bigger cat pounced the electric-type, the two big cats clawing at each other as they battled to control the grapple. Josh attempted to end the cat fight early by hurling an empty Poké Ball at the jet-colored feline.
