angelo vestri once said he could envision him riding a motorcade, and Locke really wished that vision was reality right about now.

"Ah, wait up you two!"

It wasn't often he had the opportunity to use his bulkier Pokémon, and his Machoke and Vigoroth seemed to have turned the chance to stretch their legs into a competition of sorts, muscling their way past each other with armfuls of groceries.

His Delibird however-a little thing called Chickie-Chickie who'd so far shown far more restraint than some of his other, more food driven penguins-was carefully keeping step with her limping trainer. Not that she was really capable of outpacing him at the moment. Her tail was cradled in her arms, packed with perishables kept cold in the ice-type's care, and the weight of it was slowing her waddle down to a march.

As much as Locke might've wanted to help, the crutches jammed uncomfortably under their armpits would make any attempt at assistance a hinderance more than anything else. Thankfully, the party's destination was finally coming into view.

The Howling at the Moon bar wasn't the sort of place the postman would typically frequent-what with their distaste for alcohol and drunkards-but from the outside at least it didn't seem as seedy as some of Slateport's other late night offerings. It actually looked like the place hipsters and social media influencers would hang around just brag about being there.

They couldn't quite decide if that was better or worse.

"Front door boys!" They called ahead. Usually they'd deliver supplies like these around the back somewhere, out of sight of normal customers, but the client had been very clear that they were to enter through the front.

Macho-Macho and Vigo-Vigo wrestled at the door just long enough for Chickie-Chickie to squeeze through them both to make it inside first

leone was just getting off of a ‘cigarette break’ of which he sometimes snuck somebody else’s cigarette and let it burn beside him while scrolling mindlessly on his phone. it was a few minutes that he could detox from the social pressure of having to smile and like people.

he had to pretend, today. because he’d woke up with that, ‘i hate living’ attitude he sometimes had to combat because he was a codependent individual living a very independent life that he hated because he was picky.

honestly, i really need laid with somebody, not just my right hand.

but as the break ended, he headed inside and noticed most were busy when a guy and his three pokémon came in with… a delivery? ah! the fresh ingredients from local markets!

meeting the guy at the door, leone gave a friendly smile. the smoke break was helping him like people again, thankfully.

”hey! sorry, here, it all comes back into the kitchen.” he began leading them back, smiling. ”have you been paid yet?”

leone assumed as much. instacarts like this were usually a pre-pay situation, right? he’d never ordered one himself, so he wasn’t totally sure. maybe that would make him look like an idiot.

Macho-Macho and Vigo-Vigo finally resolved their dispute when the more limber Vigoroth slipped under the Machoke's arm and into the building behind Chickie-Chickie. The ape raised the plastic bags triumphantly, though it was Macho-Macho that Locke praised for at least remembering to hold the door open for the postman.

Which meant this must be an employee, and not the owner who'd ordered the delivery. They hoped this guy wouldn't need proof of that; their stomach curled with embarrassment at the thought of asking to use a PC to open their email.

there’s a nervousness to the other that leone is all too familiar with and because of that, leone hopes to try and ease those nerves with friendly smiles and warmth. all of which he managed to conjure during his ‘cigarette’ break.

Locke cheerily waved the other man off, deflating the second he was out of sight-what remaining energy he'd clung to on the way here immediately draining out of him in the absence of his customer service persona. He sunk into the first empty stool he could find, setting the crutches up against the bar and lifting Chickie-Chickie into his lap while he waited for the wave of exhaustion to pass.
