The Manectric’s roar caught Harley just as his flamethrower was being launched. He turned into a beam of light and retracted into his Pokeball.

Incomplete, the fireball fizzled in the air.

Swapped into Harley’s place was Morgan. The Growlithe looked around with a confused, but happy, expression, tongue lolling.

"Oh god damn it."

A Corvisquire, attracted by the commotion, dove the little puppy. Kickback hit it with a weak thunderbolt before it could strike, knocking it to the ground. Cyg zapped it with a Pokeball.

Watching Morgan turn into a beam of light and phase back into her Pokeball, Kickback heaved a heavy sigh, like the weight of the world had settled down onto his shoulders.

A second later and he was off like a beam of light, aiming a quick attack right for the Manectric’s throat. It was an amazing burst of speed for the exhausted Raichu.

A curious Pikipek flutters down and perches on Cyg’s head, watching the battle with interest. Cyg taps it with a Pokeball before it can start pecking her cranium.

manectric's about to ROAR but this time it's stopped by raichu's QUICK ATTACK. the electric-type slams into its throat, drawing a cough and more from the manectric.[break][break]

that looks like it hurt.[break][break]

the wild hariyama seems to agree. it nods its head and then carries on walking.[break][break]

in response, manectric lets out a SHADOW BOLT that soars straight for the raichu.

Kickback delivers a quick punch to the Manectric’s throat. The return attack catches him as he tries to bounce back, knocking him over and making his teeth chatter. He hits the ground and rolls, laying on his stomach with an oof.

He pats the ground twice with his little paw, to tap out. As if on queue, Harley surges back out-- his body enveloped in a white light as he evolves to Typlosion, launching himself at Matias’ Manectric with an angry double edge attack.

A Hitmontop stops to survey the scene, standing next to Cyg and nodding as if appreciating the battle like fine art. Cyg tapped it on the head with a Pokeball.

Cyg rolls her eyes but her smile is beaming.

“Fucking finally.”

Her glee is short-lived. The Manectric’s hydro cannon douses Harley’s ruff of flame. His internal fires splutter and go out. But he is nothing if not determined, reaching out with a water-logged paw to snag the Manectric and drag it into his jaws. Steam hisses and rises into the air.

Cyg waves away a pestering Zubat. It spirals around her until she beams it with a Pokeball. Then, she recalls her Typhlosion.

“He’ll hate me later, but he’ll be stronger for it. I concede.”

She flashes Matias a thumbs up.
