a small banner held alot with crude lettering says "meet the bees behind your honey!", and greyson waved down each and every arrival personally. his smile was wide, energy infectious.

he looks towards a newcomer - blythe rosewood, though her name is a mystery to him - and holds up a small bottle no larger than his hand.

"hey, would you like to try some of our honey mead?" a combee floats up behind him, wings fluttering like a heartbeat. had they practiced this?

she's absolutely buzzing with energy. it diffuses from her in thick waves of palpable vivacity. it's nearly impossible to tear her eyes away from the combees fluttering behind the man at the till—the only way he does manage to tear her attention towards his offer is through the presentation of honey mead.

not quite as good as combees, but it'll do!

the pink-haired girl, who should absolutely, technically should be on shift right now, looks up at greyson as if she has just encountered a god. her smile is exuberant and effervescent, glowing on her face in lieu of anything else to do. yes, yes, i would!" she nearly shouts before she realizes just how loud she's being. her next sentence is noticeably more reserved and soft as if she's forcing her excitement down her throat. "could i? is it very alcoholic?"

"this one's pomegranate," gingerly, he holds it out for her. the bee behind him mews and flutters his wings appreciatively.

"you.. look familiar. have we met before?" something clicks, and he literally snaps his fingers. "are you from oldale?"

pomegranate! it does taste like pomegranate, and honey, and everything good and right in the world. blythe can't help but literally sigh into her cup as bliss crosses her face, like fate has just drawn two very disparate strings into an incredible, melodious harmony. it's only when greyson mentions oldale that she opens her eyes to peer inquisitively over her drink's rim.

something clicks for her, too. yes, that's right! she's certain she saw him in the greenhouse once or twice—and, if not, definitely walking past the windows. a smile, big and broad, dawns on her face.

"yes, i am!" she chirps, seafoam glittering in her eyes. "i knew you looked familiar! you've got the oldale look to you."

alas, they were only ever passing acquaintances, if not less. she regrets there's no space reserved in her brain for his name—that means introductions are in order. resolved, having made up her mind, blythe holds out the cup she was given to greyson, urging with only a shimmer in her gaze that he should take it back. "it was really good," she informs him. "i'm blythe, by the way!"

greyson! and b—like the letter. the pink-haired officer smiles as she tucks these names into the back of her mind, absolutely charmed.

"i probably shouldn't," she smiles apologetically as she puts a hand up to deny another drink, but her glassy eyes keep fast on the combees buzzing form behind greyson's head. "b, you said? he the one making the honey?"

she leans forward on the table, genuinely enraptured. "how's it work? you gotta farm?"

her excitement is buzzingly obvious as her focus shifts to the combee behind him, and not for the first time. he gives a genuinely amused smile.

"he's one of about a dozen that work man-made hives we've set up." he raises a hand, petting the bee appreciatively. "we do have a farm! just down the road, off the beaten path a bit. it's a friend of mines, willow atkins, and i just help out occasionally."[break][break]
