He nodded over to the door before taking point and carefully entering the shop which was closed for the day, regrettably. He might've liked to try these...boba donuts. He liked regular ones well enough. "Morning." he called out, taking his hat off and tucking it into his arm pit. He flashes his badge out of courtesy, in case the uniform and towing the youngest council member behind him didn't do the trick.

"Officer Concordas. This is Councilwoman Anderson. We're here about your break in." he explained before an older woman came over and hurriedly dumped the details on him. She was upset of course, but she didn't sound like the owner. Owner's mother it seemed. "Yes...I understand you have thoughts on the perpetrator..." he said filling the empty space left for response with summary and repetition. He's trying not to say anything that may upset them more, and instead is focused intently on his notes.

So the woman goes for Elinor. "It's- It's got to be them!! This isn't the first break in we've have either in recent months! That Team Rocket dessert shop in Sootopolis!" she said, practically about to clasp the councilwoman's hands in her own while Paxton fluttered away. Unintentionally, or perhaps fully intended, drifting to do his work while he allowed the woman to do PR. He doesn't go too far, inspecting the back of the till and looking at the glass on the floor.

Paxton was busy looking for signs of robbery. Which was fairly easy. Though the cashbox was locked it was still there, he imagined all the money had been moved for safe keeping. There's stray spray paint marks. As he moved further in, just behind the into employee access he can spot a hastily made red R on the ground.

Just as he does, the woman speaks up. "This isn't the first time we've been robbed! The shop in Sootopolis has copied our designs and our marketing before! I'm sure they'd steal our recipes if they could!" she wailed. The black haired police officer cast a glance over to Elinor and pointed down. "Rocket Red R." he announced to more wailing from the woman.

He paused, before flipping through his notebook. "Ma'am, it seems you have been vandalized but...was anything taken?" he asked as she tried to get herself together. He looked at Elinor, before proceeding to continue to snoop. The damages as he progress seemed more and more...like a case of just rampant vandalism. Childish, simple. The kitchen is a mess, obviously, with most ingredients and equipment thrown around and strewn on the floor to waste them. "What's your demographic again?" he added, calling out from the kitchen.
