Zev fell into silence, allowing Aurelie to ramble to her heart's content, though he accepted the opened bottle of Sawbucks coffee with a surprised, "Thanks." He kept his eyes on the road, driving way faster than the speed limit demanded. It was late, though, and they had to get to Lilycove, and he had had enough strange occurrences for one night.[break][break]

"I should get myself a Pokémon that can eat corpses," he mused aloud when Aurelie joked about their latest target coming back to life. "A Muk or something. That would make things so easy."[break][break]

He added it to his mental to-do list, though he did not elaborate further on the subject.[break][break]

They reached Lilycove City after a couple of hours. Zev dropped Aurelie off two blocks from her shop, since it was not wise to stop directly in front of her residence. Before he unlocked the car's doors, however, he spoke.[break][break]

"Aurelie, about that man you mentioned earlier…"[break][break]

Though his voice was low and calm, the intensity in Zev's dark gaze could pierce steel.[break][break]

"If you remember his name, let me know right away. Okay?"[break][break]

Beneath his words lurked an unspoken promise, a vow, a threat.[break][break]

And then he let her go into the dead of night.
