As usual Sable kills it for her disguises for him, the scared Ranger looking nothing like he should as he is trying on a hat at a particular venue within the night market with Tam. Razz had gained info about a possible scandal going on with smuggling of pokemon, and this was the shop you had to ask for certain products. [break][break]

"What'ch you think suits me right?" Razz ask about the hat as he helps plays the part of a paying customer before they would attempt to grill. In his experience getting in on their good side before going in directly had always been best.

Tam is not one for acting and that much is probably obvious to anyone who knows him. Yet, under the guidance of his Zoroark, his usually-lazy Zorua had done a surprisingly good job at providing a disguise with its ILLUSION, making it so that the man that stands within this clothing store looks nothing like the ranger captain people in the night market have come to know.

”Not bad at all. You should get it.” He tells a disguised Raziel Beckett, wondering how often it is that the Elite Ranger does this sort of operation.

Tam had not become a ranger to deal so much with people and to play this sort of games, but if Razz’s intel is right, then this game of pretend is a small price to pay for the potential of uncovering a smuggling operation and saving more than a few pokémon in the process. It’s why he had chosen to come here himself; why he subtly looks around the store, searching.

He doesn't miss the employee that stands idly by the door to the back of the building, nor the way the cashier watches them.

"Riiiiiiiight!?" he exclaims excitedly as he looks himself in the mirror again, so that in the corner of his eye he could see the cashier trying to size up to see if they were worth it. There was a reason he picked this hat, it was overpriced. Sure the quality of something like this was always up there, but they needed to play the couple that didn't mind spending money. He takes it off to see the price and he shows it off to the Ranger captain, "Small beans to you right pops?" he questions with a wink before moving over to the salesman. If Tam saw the price it was definitely not something to sneeze at. [break][break]

"I'd like to get this please and uhh," he looks back at the shop before leaning in back to the sales associate, "And I heard that you guys sell some nice bedsheets, that kind that makes ya feel like 'you're sleeping on an Altaria on cloud 7,'" he says the coded term that he was given when he first heard about this place. Seeing if the other would catch his drift.

If only for a second there, Tam forgets that he is disguised, that he looks nothing like himself, that Razz is playing a part, and that even if he weren’t, the Elite Ranger probably isn’t aware that their age difference is actually a handful of years. People always tell him he acts older than his age and Tam is never sure if he’s supposed to take that as a compliment.

”Yeah, fine. Since you really want it.” He sighs, and although Tam has never been particularly frugal, even he has to resist the urge to frown at the price of what to him is no more than a questionable hat. Some people care too much about that sort of stuff.

He lets Razz do most of the talking, and when the phrase is spoken to the sales associate, the change in their demeanour is subtle but not hard to miss. The man gets a good look at them before finally stating that ”they just got a shipment of those but it’s still out back.”.

”That’s fine, we don’t mind.”

It makes sense: they wouldn't want the public to see wares of that kind.

Seems like the older ranger doesn't act much, as their demeanor now didn't seem that much different than their demeanor in the office. How he wish he could get away with just that. Though old habits died hard, and when under cover ma always said to give it flare. When the cashier tells them about the new shipment Razz just gives a smile and nods. [break][break]

"I don't mind the back, hope you guys have something cute," he exclaims as the man signals one guarding the back door. The large man gesturing for them to follow suit to the back. By passing normal inventory until they hit the garage area of their store. A few other workers there as if to act as muscle. So it was clear they were out numbered should they try anything. [break][break]

Little did they know they were out matched, Razz thinks to himself as the first man looks toward the disguised Captain, "So just what kind of sheets you looking for?"

He had had the full intention of letting Raziel Beckett lead. He had been the one who had found the intell: it’s his case and Tam is here more as backup than anything else. The issue is that once again, during this kind of mission, his own aloof and impassive nature proves to be a blessing as much as it is a curse.

People rarely doubt that Tam knows what he’s doing, because he looks and acts like he’s fully certain of everything and like nothing can shake him. At the same time, this means that they usually expect him to be “the one in charge” and thus also the one who does all the talking. Tam hates doing the talking.

They’re surrounded. There’s workers everywhere, boxes filled with clothing, and in the distance, Tam is almost certain he can hear the sound of sewing machines at work.

He remains looking utterly unfazed through it all, even when asked a question. An eyebrow is raised.

”The best ones you got.”

Inside, where no one can sense it, he wants to die a little. Had there been another code they had not known of? Ugh, this is stressful.

Just in case, his hands remain in his pockets, where minimised pokéballs await – ready.

Razz just fakes an amused laugh as he lightly hits his partner on the chest, "I almost forget how funny you are pops," Razz chuckles as that's not the way you ask for things like this. Has the Captain never been no a sting? Though he supposes he can't expect everyone to be knowledgeable, its not like they had criminal backgrounds like he did. [break][break]

"We heard you guys had some imported Dragon Patterns from Sootopolis," he mentions as he knows there is a dragon sanctuary there. It was part of why Alteria was in the code, "The ones with the tusk I hear are really cool," he uses his hands as it to imitate tusk from an Axew which allowed gave the men much more indication that these customers knew what they were talking about. [break][break]

One guy going to bring out a box from next to one of their people they had sewing, green sheets there as Razz looks through it and he takes out the pillow, and fluffs it in a way to show the outline of the pokeballs his boss. "What you think pops? Should we take 'em?"[break][break]

They had the proof they needed now, and Razz knows he has a pokemon with the man power to take these losers out. Whether or not Tam believed it was a different story.

He has been to more than a few stings, and he has hated every single one of them. Dealing with people really isn’t his thing. All these codes, all these lies, all these games… They just don’t suit Tam. He’s honest and straightforward, and he really sucks at all this stuff.

Tam would make a terrible criminal.

Raziel Beckett, on the other hand?

His performance leaves the captain unsure if he should be impressed or concerned, but regardless, it gets the job done, and soon enough, they’re being shown pillows which clearly contain pokéballs in them.

”Should we take 'em?”

This cue he does remember, and he knows exactly how to answer.

”Yup. Let’s take the whole lot of them.”

Before anyone can react, two pokémon are released: a huge Tyranitar that appears with a roar, her SAND STREAM summoning up a SANDSTORM that decreases visibility, and a seemingly insignificant Klefki which FAIRY LOCK keeps anyone from escaping.

Tam reaches to disarm the man closest to him. Not a word said now that they're not seen as needed.

Its clear the men are caught off guard, some wanted to run but the FARIY LOCK keeps them in. There is cursing going on and scrambling, but Razz calls out his key pokemon for this. The ultra Beast gives out a loud cry as it flexes on the surrounding criminals. One of the in particular shrieks in fear at the site. [break][break]

"N-no way fuck that I ain't getting paid enough to deal with THAT!" the man cries out arms up not even bothering to put up a fight. Another of the men calls out one of his pokemon prepared to fight and seems to ask what the big deal is about it. "Bitch that thing drinks people and pokemon I ain't doing shit!"[break][break]

And that's just the scare tactic he wanted, as their outburst seemed to trigger some memories of the Megalopian war. Slateport as a big target in that mess and it seemed like the rest didn't want to deal with the bug as they all raise their hands in surrender. [break][break]

Easy mode. [break][break]

"Good cause keeping up that act sucked," Razz grumbles as his smile is gone and his more natural tone is back as he rubs his cheeks, already beginning to feel tired from the act. "I can keep an eye on them while you call back up sir," Razz looks to the group, "Don't want to upset Crimson right?" he ask the group as the Buzzwole crosses it's arms looking down at all of them.
