each thrall falls with each attack. the spirit's protection all fall one by one, leaving it with just it's crafty shield.

crafty shield. the move that protects the user from status moves. it doesn't stop moves that deal damage, however. kyle recalls his jolteon, replacing it with his houndoom, and proceeds to bypass the protection to continue the process of exorcism.

"inferno."

the canine comes out. flames escape its maw, crawling its way towards the spirit to inflict it with the burns that would inevitably get them a step closer for the final rites.

A GHASTLY IMPACT

REND THE THRALLS THAT WERE ONCE YOUR POKEMON. desperation spares them no mercy as combat demands haste. fernando’s reliance on consistency spurs a more practiced pokemon to take the field as one last slew of attacks look to fall their foe.

his kecleon, a pokemon he’s kept more to a house pet than fighter, finally surfaces. while BULLET SEEDS spew across the field, the spry lizard looks to sneak in a quick FEINT to break through the CRAFTY SHIELD. whether it is required for their operation to succeed remains unknown, but to leave an unaccounted variable up on the field is unbecoming of fernando’s explicit meticulousness.

BASED ON YOUR INVESTIGATIONS, your team arrives at the conclusion that the Runerigus was an amalgamation of spirits similarly consumed by their resentments towards their trainers while in life, perhaps owed to the very instance that cost them their lives. It puts into perspective the nature of the relationship between trainers and pokemon.[break][break]
