Amor was fully armored up as he normally was when he was conducting business in his rocket guise. While that wasn't entirely necessary considering the person who was accompanying him already knew his identity. If others showed up he preferred to be prepared. He trusted the person that was coming to not slip up, as they had agreed to help keep his real identity from spreading to far.

Despite it being such a short amount of time, Amor felt like he was living in a bizzaro world sometimes. It hadn't been so long ago that he had been allied, albeit loosely, with Rocket's enemies. And yet here he was conducting a field search for specimens with an underboss. The area surrounding Fortree was thick with trees, and he had traced the specimens to this particular area. Though he knew that they had to be swift as the possibility of the hive changing locations was always there. However he trusted Gavin to show up, but he was curious as to why the man agreed to aide him?

Was this a test of his loyalty, was he interested in his research? Was he going to try, and kill him? These were all distinct possibilities, and he folded his arms as he waited in quiet contemplation. Since the Rocket Beast, hadn't tried to kill him during their excursion he assumed he was safe for the moment at least. Still it was a chance to get to know a higher up, and he would take that any day of the week. The sky was sunny which he hoped meant good things for him, but it could just as easily go south.

Only time would tell.

Route 119 was one of Hoenn's rainier routes, but it seems Gavin and company won't be blessed with such luck on this day. The sun bears down, relentless in the throes of autumn as it had been during the summer Splashfest, and Gavin shields his eyes from its glare with a pair of dark shades.

"Are you not hot in that armor?"

No greeting nor formality, only a question asked with humour as dry as the grass that crunches beneath his boots.

He was not going to kill Amor, though he did have his reasons for meeting with their recent convert. It was important for an underboss who dealt with traitors to associate himself with those who'd instead betrayed the other side.

Though he knew 's true identity, this is the first time they've met in person. He does not introduce himself; he expects Amor will know him from the wanted posters.

A simple question, and at that he would point to his neck. There was a cooling personal fan there. It wasn't part of the suit, but it was something he had picked up at the Splashfest for himself, and his Pikachu, Adontis. Having scouted the weather ahead of time he had come prepared at least a little.

"If I didn't have this, then yes." He replied easily enough, and he did indeed recognize the man from the wanted posters, but it was still hard to know how to address him. This man seemed so casual, and a little familiar. Tilting his head to the side he thought for a moment. "Have we met somewhere else before?" He wondered aloud, perhaps he had been disguised at the time. Shaking his head. "I suppose it doesn't really matter, but I'm curious as to why you came here yourself? Surely there are plenty of underlings you could have delegated this too."

Despite the voice not being his own, the curiosity was there still. Though he wondered if he would get a real answer, or something that beat around the bush. There was much about the organization he belonged to that was still a mystery to him. Though he hoped to learn it in time.

"I do hope you're ready to hunt some bugs, it's going to be boring probably...." The last traces of the signal he had picked up were around here, so he figured some of them had to still be around.

Though he doubts the ability of a single fan to cool an entire suit of armour, Gavin shrugs it off and doesn't deign to reply. So long as Amor can still do his job wrapped up like a Mummified Cofagrigus, he doesn't care.

They have met on at least one occasion that the underboss could remember, though Gavin had been disguised at the time. Looking nothing like himself, he'd managed to fool even the League personnel he'd fought against during the Hoenn Star Tournament, and so he's certain that Amor isn't remembering that.

"You must be thinking of someone else. You do know who I am...?" Blond hair falls into his eyes when he cants his head, and Gavin smooths it back with a scarred hand. "As to why I came here myself — it's a poor underboss who doesn't know those who work beneath him."

Gavin made a point to get to know everyone, from the top brass to the lowliest grunt. It was an unexpected perk of being wanted across the region. There was no need to disguise his identity from even their new recruits, for they'd gain nothing by absconding to the League with it. The Commissioner and her government already had his 'legal name' and description, his Avatar status, and he'd all but confirmed his rank when he'd met with Dahlia himself.

"Killer bees, boring?" Only in Hoenn. "I always come prepared."

A luxury ball gripped between pale fingers is tossed, breaking open to reveal a SHADOW DELPHOX that twirls her obsidian wand and regards the two men coolly.

"Lead the way."

Listening to the mans reason for coming along, Amor had to admit he was a tad impressed with that reasoning. If you knew the inner workings of your entire organization then you could assign people to the tasks that they would be the most efficient at. It was just like being the CEO of a company in that regard. If you learned about everyone they would grow to respect you because you put in the extra effort. That was interesting to him, and so Gavin got a +1 in Amor's mental tracker for that.

"I see, well that makes the most sense then I suppose." Seeing the mans Shadow Delphox he tucked that away for later, and he released his own fire type, Charizard. At the other's urging he nodded. "I don't know how much you got before coming here. But these particular pokemon have been infected with residual primal energy...I only know this because I have sent out a group of hunters to capture specimens before in another section of the region." Amor wondered how those people were doing, but if they died then so be it. They weren't up to the task.

"I don't know if they are spreading their nests, or if this is a new hive entirely." Either one would be alarming, but he hoped it was the latter one. Fresh specimens would be better for his research. "So the goal is to capture some, and then find their queen, or queens, and attempt to capture them as well. If they have been afflicted by what I think, then they will be valuable studies."

It was a simple mission, but everything could go horribly wrong quickly, and the fact that it was sunny out was foreboding enough to him. In the trees around them as they walked, there were little eyes watching their every move...

"I always come prepared," Gavin repeats calmly. "I've read the mission report."[break][break]

There had been nothing about residual primal energy in that report, but he isn't surprised by Amor's findings. Whether primal or infinity, an influx of energy seemed to be the cause for many a problem across Hoenn of late.[break][break]

He has no opinion on the hives, having never engaged with these particularly aggressive bees before, but listens to Amor's speculations.[break][break]

"The primal energy?" His brow furrows. "Or do you suspect a different affliction?"[break][break]

He is sensitive to sound, picking up the dull drone of dozens of bees as they close in on the location of the nest. Eyes watch from the woods but the WILL-O-WISPS cast by his Delphox keep all but the boldest at bay.[break][break]

Until they get too close.[break][break]

Gavin sends out a Shadow Dhelmise, its seaweed the colour of blood and anchor rusted. "It should be more than capable of trapping any specimen you desire."

At the Underbosses question Amor shrugs a little bit.

"I am hoping just primal energy. I have seen no evidence of other afflictions, but since they have been plagued by residual Primal Energy for so long. It is not far fetched to believe that there could be some other issue that arises. Bacteria can be extremely adaptive when it wants to be, and the last thing I want, or anyone for that matter. Is a primal empowered flu." He was half joking, half serious.

At the incursion of a few of the Combee his Charizard takes point along with the Rockets Delphox, and Dhelmise. Nodding at his words he trusted him. There was no point in worrying about anything else right now.

"Then I'll leave containment to you, if that is alright. Ogun here is more suited for outright destruction." He gave his Charizard a mental pat on the back, and the fire on it's tail flared up as several Combee charged at the group from the lining in the trees. Though getting so close proved to their detriment as a powerful Fire Spin ripped into creation in front of the swarming Combee who had all been attempting to come, and bite his fire dragon.

They all met a swift defeat as they were encircled by the raging flames. Another small group of the Combee had made way for his comrade, but Amor trusted that he would be able to defeat them all with little to no problem.

TLDR
Two squads of Combee came out of the woodwork
One squad got roasted by Charizards Fire Spin!

'Primal-empowered flu' makes Gavin think of the Pokerus-Y virus that M.A.G.M.A have been studying. So far it seemed harmless, but who was to say it'd remain that way? He thinks of Lugia, suppressing his anxiety.[break][break]

"As is my Delphox."[break][break]

Dhelmise, too, was more than capable of wanton destruction, but the clicks of Gavin's tongue accompanied with a few non-verbal gestures direct the spectral anchor to subdue rather than kill. Given no such command, Delphox engulfs most of the swarm in SHADOW FIRE while Dhelmise snags a few stragglers in its SHADOW HOLD. Tendrils of miasma curl around the bees and pull tight, maneuvering them away from the obsidian flames.[break][break]

"Have you brought special containment, or are we using pokeballs?"[break][break]

Gavin seems calm even as the chaos erupts around them; he trusts their Pokemon to keep the hostile insects at bay.

At the underbosses words he doesn't answer immediately, and instead presses something on his right gauntlet which brings up a holographic screen.

"Walter bring the vessels." He says to the man on the other end before turning to Gavin. "He is bringing our special containment vessels." And within few moments a man seemed to materialize out of nowhere with a Gallade at his side. An elderly man dressed in a very fine butlers uniform. A grey goatee covered his chin, and his hair was cropped short as he approached the armored Amor.

There were two glass tube looking vessels that he was holding, and he gave them both to Amor.

"Thank you Walter. That will be all." He told his butler who gave a slight bow, and then returned to the Gallade, and vanished once more as if he was never there. By this point most of the most rowdy quarry should be knocked out with the efforts of the two fire pokemon, so he approaches the ones that the Dhelmise restrained.

Placing the first one in the glass tube, he presses a button on the front, and a pink dust fills it, and the combee falls fast asleep. Doing the same to a second one, he wipes imaginary sweat off of his brow. Ogun approaching took one of the tube like vessels, and Amor smiled beneath his helm.

"Sleeping pods. I recently acquired a Venasaur, and harvested some of it's sleep powder to make this simple little device. It's like an egg incubator, but with a single additional function." The Combee wouldn't suffocate, as the same mechanism that deployed the Sleep Powder, also had vents to filter in fresh air.

It was incredibly hot out here, but their mission was over for the moment.

"Shall we head back so I can start studying?" He didn't know what the Underboss was thinking, but everything had gone as smoothly as it could.

Gavin appears utterly indifferent to the sudden arrival of Walter, sparing the man only a polite nod of acknowledgement before clicking his tongue and gesturing for the Dhelmise to relinquish its vice grip on the captive Combee.[break][break]

He's not certain of the purpose behind Amor's containment vessels, but offers no questions.[break][break]

"You're free to do as you wish," Gavin shrugs, by way of dismissal. "I intend to linger a little while longer and obtain a few of these Combee for my own interests."[break][break]

Or, rather: Rocket's interests. M.A.G.M.A's interests.
