"I can't take the pressure....I'm gone beyond repair...."
He rested his cheek on his palm as he gazed at her from behind silvery locks of hair, if someone from the outside looked at him they might assume he was bored, but he kept his eyes on her at all times. A gentle smile on his lips at her flattery, and promise. It had been a while since they had gotten to meet, and catch up. So he would savor this for all that it was worth. A playful frown formed on his lips when she said that she would have to disappoint him, and accept his money from this point on.
"Well I suppose getting rejected once is good enough then, and I am glad to hear that you are doing well, or at least as well as one can." He said as the waiter brought them the champagne, and two glasses. Casting a wary glance at the silvery haired man who had been a headline in the most recent HNN. Though he said nothing. Pouring them both their drinks he vanished for the moment waiting to take their order.
"Well I am similar to you, I am doing as well as I can. Between the League's article, and the sanctions, it's been....A time...." He chuckled seemingly amused as took a sip of the champagne. "However it's not that big of a deal, I made some new friends. And I think they are going to be wonderful allies for my future business endeavors." He said to her easily. It was easy for him to tell the truth without telling the truth. She would grasp his meaning, he didn't doubt her intelligence in the slightest.
"Sadly I don't think the sanctions had as much of an effect as your colleagues would've hoped. I'd be a terrible boss if I kept my people working through the end of the world instead of letting them be with their loved ones. So I gave them all paid leave." He shrugged. It was a simple matter to temporarily shut down his business for the welfare of his workers. It would ingratiate him to them should they survive this disaster, and it would run damage control on his reputation that the League had tried to tarnish at the same time. "If the region survives, the dome will be gone, and well I won't need to worry about doing things domestically as much anymore."
The only damaging thing about the sanctions was that the dome had them all trapped in Hoenn, but the moment that thing vanished, he could import materials, and the like as he needed from other regions. Sure he knew the League would charge him far more taxes, but it wasn't anything he wasn't willing to pay for.
