Three.

Bullet, Pluto, and...

Every one of them was his fault. Every last one of them. He should have foreseen sniper shots. He shouldn't have sent Pluto to their death, but it was his fault what happened to Isaac. How could he face him? He let the anger of Bullet drown him, and now it wasn't just one. It was three. One of Isaac's own were blood upon his hands.

It should have been none. Ashley had found a spot behind a gravestone. His head was in his hands. He can't feel anything in his right arm due to that first Leaguer, no pain at all like his nerves were burned, and his left ear is bleeding hard, hurting like hell due to that bastard sniper (paxton concordas ) shooting off his left earring. He tries to hold it in, but lacks that strength.

He lets it out. Ashley sobs. His weeping is quiet, but loud enough to be heard nearby. With him, his chimp Bongo, his Rotom phone Pulse were both out. Bongo hugs into his side, and Pulse doesn't seem to be smiling.

How could he even face his team?

He can't stop, they won't stop, it keeps coming and coming. This war was hell. But he'd fight all the same. He told THEO BECKETT he'd stay safe. He would survive, and he'd keep the promise. He gets himself to his feet. Shaky as they were, he needed to keep going.

First order of business? Find Isaac Merlo . Or Cillian Quinn . Second? Survive.

his chest feels hollow as he rides through the air on pistachio, looking for either annalise henderson or a fellow leaguer to assist. as much as ollie wants to give up, he knows that it would be pointless when there's so much on the line.

Now isn't the time to let feelings out. As he hears a new voice, he gets himself up, shakily onto his feet. Ashley is... uncertain how things are to proceed, but he looks at the man with puffy eyes. It's all he should be able to see behind a face mask and a hat.

Fury fuels him. He doesn't bother giving the man before him a proper answer. Bloodshot eyes of silver are glaring. It's all he can do to hold it in. He doesn't know this man, but he asks if he's Rocket. Which means...

He's the enemy. He's the reason Bullet and Pluto are gone. Why Kiryu is gone. He locks his emotions away, choking back his tears, and points at him.

He loved her. And you killed her.

"DIE!" Ashley roars with contempt. A click of his tongue and Pulse channels an ELECTRO BALL, firing straight for Ollie as the ball hits the ground and attempts to strike him. Ashley's face matted in nothing but his own fury. Bongo watches his trainer... this wans't him. This isn't Ashley. He could feel the swelling pain surround him, something behind him to conjure all of his rage and pain, to channel it. He had intent to kill.

[break][break] he steps back, but it's too late. luckily, his heracross is smarter than him. huckleberry bursts from it's pokeball suddenly and takes the brunt of the attack with it's horn, electricity crackling around him as he winces.

[break][break] a stray bolt takes ollie in the chest and he clutches the spot where it hits, wincing. "hey, man, what the fuck?"

[break][break] as it takes the attack, the bug-type then buzzes angrily. he takes to the air in a flurry before slashing down on the other with his horn in a COUNTER.

Electricity cracks as the blast hits, though the Heracross takes most of the attack. Pulse in return is struck by the Counter, but the strike goes clean through the Rotom, Pulse unaffected as they look towards Ashley.

Your fault.

"I SAID DIE!" Ashley is beyond consoling, and as another ELECTRO BALL comes towards Ashley, his pupils shrink as he lets Pulse fire again. He doesn't want to think. All he wants is to make the League suffer for what they've done today. For every mistake they've made.

the COUNTER, though powered up thanks to the attack prior, goes straight through the ghost-type and even ollie has to wince.

[break][break] "it's okay, bud!" he consoles the bug-type, even as he jumps back around. "we got this. DODGE!"

[break][break] ollie's voice calls out just in time. his wings fire him skyward into the air, just narrowly avoiding the second electro ball. his body glows as he summons the power of the earth, and a ROCK SLIDE comes clambering down towards the electric ghost in an attempt to bury him.

[break][break] even in the midst of the chaos, ollie cups his hands over his mouth:

No matter how much it plays in his head, he can't get it out. It burns, it burns hot in his mind. Guilt scorches his mind, and leaves him completely vulnerable to the Rock Slide, watching Pulse fall underneath the rubble. His lips part, his pupils shrink again.

Not again... not again...

Pulse levitates pained by the direct strike, turning towards Ashley. The electric Pokemon is shaking, but not out. No no, as Ashley's mind is snapping under it all, he hears the words... what does he know? Ashley's roar comes out in response, that anguish forging into disgust.

The League did this. The League is the problem. With a finger pointed forward at him, he yells, bloodshot eyes burning with tears pricked.

Your fault.

"You take so many of ours. All you had to do was to incapacitate. But no. You killed. You took from us. You Leaguers are no better than Rocket." Pulse makes the static-y roar, as a HEX surge of purple energy envelopes the Heracross. Pulse was just doing as instructed, but they are on their last reserves of energy after that hefty Rock Slide.

"Go to hell."

[break][break] his words of confusion are cut off, however, as the rocket aims another attack at them. this attack is just as aggressive as all the other ones have been. this is a war — ollie knows that, and it's in that split moment that he thinks that he might relate to his sister Eva Morales a little bit more.

[break][break] these words, however, come a little too short and even as the heracross attempts to roll away, the hex blasts against him as his exoskeleton is coated in sticky, purple liquid. "hucks, are you okay!?" ollie discards all self-preservation as he runs to the insect; he's already lost one pokemon today, he's not about to lose a second.

[break][break] crouching beside him, ollie glares at Ashley Shepard .

[break][break] "you're crazy, man. no one's taken anything from you - it's you rockets who are trying to end the world alongside you." he gestures to the ball of hot energy in the sky, the meteor that's going to crash down on all of them. "is this really what you want?"

"Tell it to the dead Starly who was shot out of the sky. Tell it to the Lunatone that blew up, and the Aggron who got shot protecting it's trainer. I'm sure they'll agree too after you lot shot them dead." Ashley yells with primal fury behind every word, fueled by his own malice and self-loathing.

He watches the Heracross having been struck, and sees the trainer coming to its aid, every sense of self-preservation gone from the trainer. They were similar. Ashley's mind travels back to Bullet, flying so freely. Pluto, happily floating around and glad to exist in their presence. To Kiryu... Isaac's signature. He lets go for a moment... he's just like he was back then. His eyes lose all focus, a glaze coming over his irises, silver just staring on.

He says something. He doesn't know why. "... get the fuck out of here."

He actually says it to the Leaguer, but not without fiddling with the switchblade in his pocket. "Go." There's no malice in his voice.

There's an emptiness now. A void inside of him. He even returns Pulse, Bongo staring at Ashley with a look of concern. Ashley's guilt weighed down on him.

you loved them. and you killed them.

The voice in his head doesn't stop.
