That was such an odd way for a Pokémon to be caught, Andrea couldn't help but giggle. Someday she would have a Fuecoco of her own, but that day had not yet come as of this thread's time placement.

The girl tilted her dragon-hooded head curiously at Callan's statement. "Revamped? Does that mean the rules changed?" She was out of the loop in that regard. "I'm trying to challenge all the gyms, but stuff keeps getting in the way." She admitted with a sigh.

The biggest hurdle, ironically, was not the challenge itself, but finding an empty slot in a Gym leader's bloated schedule. The system was far from perfect.

Nearby, a Golett and a Sizzlipede were walking along the snowy path, giving off an eerie feeling of déjà vu.

"Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?" Callan certainly did try to solve the issue of the large waitlists, but the reality was that there were too many people who wanted to try to get into the gym challenges and not enough people who wanted to be one. Callan paused. "Why not try and become one yourself? You have some fantastically raised Pokemon." He turned a discerning eye towards Andrea. "...No, scratch that, you'd be a phenomenal one. I can tell."

"I dunno..." Andrea freely admitted not having any suggestions on how to fix the system. That seemed more like a job for the Top Champion, or someone with intricate knowledge of how the Gym leader application process worked.

The young woman was taken aback when Callan said that she herself had potential to become a great Gym leader. "T-thanks... Should I do it, though?"

Her pensive gaze wandered to a wild Rhydon trudging along the rocky path, vaguely resembling the statues that adorned every Gym in the region. What would it be like to run her own Gym?

"I'll need to give this some thought." The eccentric cosplayer eventually replied. "It would definitely clash with my goal of becoming a Pokémon. I wouldn't wanna inconvenience the League."

Callan could understand her trepidation. At the end of the day, being a Gym Leader was intensive work, but it was also the greatest path to success from the League side in his eyes. "Yeah." He replies, watching as a Torracat passes by to eat some of his curry. Callan tosses a ball towards it in an attempt to catch it as it feeds on his curry.

"It's a big commitment, yeah." But there was one thing he disagreed with. "I think it'd help, you'd have access to contacts you didn't have before. You'd be able to speak with Councillors and Scientists with your authority." But more than that, before he wanted to leave, he needed to know. "There any particular reason you want to be a Pokemon though?"

Being able to speak to councilmen and scientists sounded like a significant bonus. Maybe that way she could actually have a say in important decisions that affected Hoenn, instead of feeling like she had no voice. She still needed to give it some serious thought, though.

Callan had one last question for her; one she could give an answer to with no hesitation. "Because I love Pokémon of course! I love them so much I wanna become just like them! What more reason would I need?" A delightfully simplistic, yet sincere answer that described Andrea to a T.

There was a certain type of madness that existed in everyone's eyes. His was fame and fortune and endless stimulation to fill a void, whose to say it was not as mad as wanting to become a Pokemon?

As the fires of the curry died, one last Growlithe approached the group. He had always wanted one of these, and so he slung one last Pokeball towards the dog Pokemon, and captured it before turning to Andrea. "It's getting late, let's head back to the city. Are you good with teleporting?"
