A light tap with a Pokeball, and he had a freshly-caught Sprigatito. The scent was still in the air - hopefully it didn't soak into his sweater.

It seemed that Melody knew a lot more about what he'd been told than he'd expected. "Oh. I, uh, guess we could just try asking Uxie." He'd gotten so used to its evasiveness that directly asking for answers hadn't passed his mind.

Uxie faced straight at Melody, listening as she asked her question. The answer would go to Hideo and Melody; the boy didn't feel anything off from it, well-accustomed to psychic energy contacting his brain, but Melody might feel a small poke in the wrinkles of her brain.

Either way, the response was clear

VOLCANION

"Volcanion…" Hideo muttered. "Never heard of that one before, but it sounds like you got a history with it, Melody." He turned towards Uxie. "And is Volcanion that Soul Heart thing?"

Another response.

NO

"Guess not…but if Volcanion was looking for a Soul Heart, makes sense that it itself isn't the Soul Heart."

As the boy pondered on that, a Grimmsnarl saw fit to try and ambush the group - only to be caught off-guard by his Ambipom's own ambush. This scuffle was a bit less subtle, Hideo's thoughts broken by the sounds of combat, but he knew who the victor was the moment he heard the heavier Pokemon hit the ground.

"...why'd Volcanion even try to destroy whatever tower you were trying to make?" Hideo asked, getting another spare Pokeball out for this new capture. "Didn't seem to do much of anything when I was there. Though it was on the other side of the ground, so not much it could do."

Before she can continue the conversation with Hideo, there was a random Tauros that began to just charge towards the pair wildly, intent on harming them both at once. [break][break]

Cobalion stands in the way again but this time it decides to use sacred sword to put a stop to the Pokémon's rampage. It's horns and the sword collide, Cobalion fending off the crazy cow by sending it flying backwards. However it was relentless, it stomped it's hooves and was determined to charge again. But before it could launch itself towards Cobalion, the sword of justice strikes first as his justified ability activates. [break][break]

He uses SMART STRIKE to ensure a swift and guaranteed victory against it. The tauros succumbs to it's flesh wounds and faints. Melody claps and applauds Cobalion as she tosses a pokeball to attempt a capture. [break][break]

Melody's attention goes back to Hideo and the conversation. "I have no idea! Something about human hubris or something! It pissed me off! It was supposed to be a tower symbolizing our friendship." she pouts

“Well, rare Pokemon like that can be pretty hard to predict.” It went without saying that the two legendary Pokemon among them - Uxie and Cobalion - were proof of that. “Though the one I witnessed was actively being put together from the parts of that kingdom or whatever. So maybe that’s where Volcanion came from? And maybe the Soul Heart it’s looking for is in there?”

He could only throw out theories at this point. The only way to find out more was to find out how to get inside there, but he barely knew where to start.

“Pretty sure that place was something Rocket was looking for. There were way too many of them around the theater to be an accidental discovery.” He already knew that to be the case, but he didn’t plan to tip Melody off to why he was really there. “Some Rocket were down there, and it sounded like they tried Mega Evolving down there. I think one of their Pokemon used a strong attack, and they got quiet after that.”

“I left after that, so that’s all I got.”

There was more that he learned there, but he’d hold it to his chest for now: he didn’t want to worry her with certain details.

A marill! It was so tiny and cute! She picked up the baby since it seemed pretty friendly and held it against her chest. She squeezed it tightly as Cobalion and Rilaboom stared, the gorilla was getting jealous of the fact and a feeling of pride coming from Cobalion when he looked at melody. He was proud he had made the right choice with her genuine love for all Pokémon. [break][break]

Well almost every single one. [break][break]

She continued to hold the Marill in her arms, squeezing it to see if it'd squeak. "Thats...strange. I wonder how they knew?" she asked wondering how they would have been able to see something the league couldn't see down underneath the theater..especially under the league's nose. There were megalopolans in mt pyre...were they colluding? They certainly would know more about the multiverse than the league did..whatever. No use in thinking about it at the moment. [break][break]

She raises the marill and puts it on melody's head. Tapping a pokeball onto it's head to try and capture the little baby, praying the ball worked immediately as Melody found this Azumarill extremely cute.[break][break]

She balanced the pokeball on her head as it shook "Well. If we give it enough time we'll eventually figure out the whole story right? I mean, something's bound to happen eventually and the league will handle it like we always do. I wouldn't worry too hard." She was choosing her words carefully, she couldn't even instill the idea in Hideo for him to go explore it on his own.

Uxie floated around Hideo, watching as Melody squeezed the Marill almost like it were a squishy toy. There was visible disappointment on its face as she captured the little Pokemon.

Uxie floated off for a moment, its attention taken by a small Pokemon it had spotted- a Chikorita, who could do nothing as she was effectively abducted by Uxie, its body held up with psychic energy as Uxie gently squished it with its hands.

Hideo had no idea what Uxie was up to.

"Well, this is just what I heard - but I heard there were Megalopolans helping Rocket. You know, those cannibal invaders." They were apparently pretty technologically advanced, so they probably had sensors or something that told them that was there. "I didn't see any myself - for kinda obvious reasons - but if they were present, they could've told Rocket it was there."

He knew for a fact Megalopolans were present - Eris Halla told him as much before he got there - but he wasn't lying about not encountering any. He'd consider himself lucky he didn't have to deal with an enemy trainer that wanted to eat him.

As for the rest, Hideo could only shrug. "Guess so. I don't wanna just wait around and do nothing, but I'm short on ideas right now. And since I got Uxie there…I can't just wait for someone else to solve it all for me. And I feel like I gotta have a hand in this too."

As he said that, he felt something dropped into his hands: the Chikorita, terrified by Uxie’s impromptu squishing session, pretty much dug herself into the boy’s sweater. “Not that kind of hand,” Hideo sighed, taking out another spare Pokeball.

Melody spots a lickilicky, it licks it's mouth as it stares at her feet. For some reason, CIAN MAHER's image flashes in her mind and she's grossed out by the thing. "Alright beat the hell out of it please, it's a freak." she orders as Her rilaboom leaps in to beat up the creepy pokemon. [break][break]

However it proves to be a tricky pokemon as suddenly it's tongue wraps around rilaboom and squeezes him tightly as it uses WRING OUT to trap her pokemon. "Cobalion! save lickilicky please!" as it sighs and dashes forward with a smart strike attack. The lickilicky passes out afterwards, leaving it open for Melody to CAPTURE LICKILICKY. [break][break]

She turns her attention back towards Hideo. "While I admire your willingness to go out there and solve problems hideo. I think if the league caught you up to no good, you and uxie will be in quite a predicament. You cant give them a reason to look into you deeper. If you do you'll get caught, its better others don't know you have Uxie."

Hideo grumbled, listening to Melody tell him not to get too involved. The frown on his face would be hard to miss. “...it’s frustrating to just wait. I really feel like I gotta help out with this, one way or another. I know I gotta keep a tight lip on having Uxie, and I already got plans for that.”

He’d managed to go this long without his camp being discovered. He felt confident he could keep Uxie hidden - even if Uxie had a habit of not staying in ~~the bag~~ its ball.

A small Cacnea approached them, but Hideo’s Ambipom could read the room, sneaking off and quietly pacifying the rude interloper with a small flurry of Swift stars. She carefully dragged it over to the group, trying not to prick herself on its thorns.

“But I can tell I can’t do this by myself. I won’t just rush in to try and find and answer. That’s why I’m talking about it with you.” He knew Melody was a part of AQUA - she’d even had him battle Diancie to see how skilled he was. A test he did well in. “I’m fine with you sharing the stuff I witnessed in Littleroot with the League. You don’t have to name me or anything, or even tell them Uxie was there, but I think it is important that the League knows what’s going on in Littleroot. If they don’t already.“

His Ambipom lightly tapped him on the arm, the Cacnea pushed close enough that he could hear it drag through the ground. Another easy catch.

"But when it's time to go look into that place in Littleroot - that kingdom - I'm gonna help."

The skwovet crawls all over the tree, seeing what all the hubbub was about. [break][break]

Melody recalled her rilaboom to give it a break from battling so much. She sends out her Gardevoir, dancer. The Pokémon curtesy's to those present before setting her sights upon the skwovet. The little squirrel decided now was his chance to strike, it leaps towards the gardevoir before it's suddenly stuck in the air as a pink energy outlines it's body as gardevoir uses Psychic to keep it afloat. [break][break]

The super fang attempt fails as now skwovet was stuck, wiggling in the air as it tries to escape it's fate of being captured by the Elite 4 member. "Nice try lil guy. You're too cute to pass up." [break][break]

She tosses the pokeball at it and waits for the capture to go through. Hideo continues to talk to melody about the situation at Littleroot. "I'll share it with them, I appreciate you Hideo." she said putting a hand on his head. "I think they may already know regardless but I can corroborate what I know with Volcanion, I'll keep your personal details out of it." [break][break]

She however hesitates when Hideo says he wants to assist with the kingdom exploration, she worries. What would her colleagues say, what would the public say? What if they knew she was helping him? "I-" [break][break]

"If you do..and I'm ordered to stop you..you know I'll have to do that right hideo?"

Hideo could smile, at least, knowing the information he’d learned could be shared in some way. “Thanks,” he said, “It can be rough trying to share this kind of stuff without it painting a big target on me.”

By either the League or Rocket, though he was admittedly more wary of the latter, especially after Littleroot. He was pretty sure they weren’t planning to give him ice cream if they ever found out what he knew.

What he had.

Hideo felt something brush against his hand, a light ribbon wrapping around his wrist. He recognized the feeling of a Sylveon pretty quickly, and noticed it was lightly trying to guide him away. It didn’t feel too threatening - the Cute Charm was already starting to take effect on him.

But his two Pokemon were less than thrilled about the Sylveon trying to kidnap their trainer. His Ambipom was quick to knock the Sylveon on the head, Uxie gently removing the ribbon wrapped around Hideo’s wrist.

It wasn’t long until the charm wore off, Hideo already tossing the ball at the Sylveon.

Hideo sighed as Melody had to remind him of her duty. “...to be fair, I kinda expected stuff like that when I first left home. My friends having to stop me because of their duty, I mean.” John Sullivan immediately came to mind, the boy initially fearing Doug would’ve been forced to turn him in back home as soon as possible. Something he was glad he was completely wrong about.

A wry grin found its way to his face. “But if it really does come to that…good luck~. I got this far without getting caught, and I got plenty of tricks up my sleeve.”

Maybe he'd invest in a mask, when the time came.

She grins at him and returns the cheeky little compliment he gave them "Yeah well the people who were trying to catch you weren't me." she says as she hints she will be successful if she tried hard enough. [break][break]

She knew the right bait would draw anyone out. [break][break]

Speaking of bait, Farigiraf came out of the wood work chewing a berry in it's mouth as it watched them both. Then suddenly the black head chomps down and hides the giraffe pokemon and attacks Melody with it's psychic powers, however gardevoir quickly works to counteract the act with her own. Cobalion's Justified ability activates again and rushes in quickly with a sacred sword, however the pokemon is quick to attempt to hold it back. Yet it needs to use it's FULL abilities to hold back cobalion, leaving gardevoir and Melody free to act. [break][break]

Gardevoir conjures a MYSTICAL FIRE to slam into the firafarig to weaken it's abilities as cobalion lunges forward and slams into the pokemon with it's SACRED SWORD. [break][break]

She sighs, "good job you guys. Seems like girafarig got a big upgrade with those pokemon who know twin beam.." she comments idley as she walks over to go grab the pokeball of the fainted pokemon.
