following the events of the meteor, dr. holo had been teleported to a mostly bare room, furnished in a way that might seem as though it had been used by team rocket for interrogations in the past. a beheeyem’s psychic attempted to force her down into a seat.[break][break]

”welcome back to 820’s hoenn, dr. holo. i suspect you thought you wouldn’t be returning.”[break][break]

she was parts smug, parts spiteful as she finally addressed their captive. attention then turned briefly to Naomi Sato , stare hard and commanding as usual, but now containing something else which had not been there before. a level of trust, confidence in the woman who had possibly saved her life less than an hour prior.[break][break]

urgently, she reasoned, ”once others arrive, we may be pushed aside. now is the time to ask the right questions, while the scientists are in charge.”[break][break]

declan walsh had been notified, reinforcements requested, but they had their own curiosities. questions echoed within the labs by problem-solving minds gone mad with the need to know. what would become of their world? what the was happening? she didn’t have to ask if nomi was familiar with rocket’s reports. she assumed she was, of course.[break][break]

eyes snapping back to the drk triad, her tone sharpened again, ”do we have your cooperation, nisa?”

A thousand questions raced through Nomi's mind as Lulu Flint began the interrogation of the woman called Dr. Holo, an Unown-commanding assassin with the Drk Triad who had infiltrated and attempted to sabotage all efforts made by both League and Rocket alike to harness the power of 99943 Meteno, the meteor that had nearly wiped out their world. Against all odds, the League's plan to divert the meteor had worked; at the same time, Rocket had been able to secure a number of TERA SHARDS, including the one Nomi had slipped into her space suit's pocket once they had successfully teleported back to Sootopolis. With the apocalypse averted, perhaps many would have a chance to enjoy some well-earned rest.[break][break]
But not Nomi. Her mission continued. For it was now or never: Dr. Holo was a crafty woman, who might find some way to escape despite her circumstances, and, as Lulu had noted, other Rockets would swarm this holding cell in no time, eager for their chance at the DRK Triad member. If Lulu and Nomi were going to find out anything remotely scientific, this was their chance.[break][break]
Pink hair still wind-swept, cheeks flushed from the cold, and body aching in a million different places, Nomi stepped forward, confident. She glared down at the white-haired assassin with an unrelenting crimson gaze, perhaps a reflection of both her weariness and her determination. Lulu trusted her, and so she did not hesitate when it was her turn to speak.[break][break]
"What were your plans for the mineral vein?" Nomi asked, voice firm. "Where, exactly, were you planning to take it?" She'd read the reports, she knew about the DRK Triad's ability to teleport via the Unown...and perhaps through other methods, as well. "With the behavior you displayed today, one might wager that you and your people wanted our world to be destroyed. And yet, the mercy of Rayquaza spared us. Did that disappoint you?" She cocked her head, sincerely curious, though she did little to take the edge out of her tone.[break][break]
She glanced at Lulu. Were these the right questions? She had a feeling they were, but the head scientist would know best. Nomi would continue to follow her lead.

the dark triad member is tired, but holo does not let the taunting, the questioning, pick away at her. she complies as much as she is willing—plus whatever else lulu and naomi are able to push out of her.[break][break]

"you have my cooperation." she says. "my plans for the mineral vein were to warp it away from your world. anywhere else. it didn't matter."[break][break]

a flurry of laughter rushes into the air as naomi speaks of her world being spared.[break][break]

"i'm not disappointed. not allowing me to warp the mineral vein has doomed you to a worse fate. none of you listened to me."

as nomi’s questions spilled out one after the other, lulu was disapproving, but nonetheless, her eyes remained glued to their captive for answers. she knew the drk triad wanted to end hoenn. what she was curious about, out of this line of questioning, was the mineral vein—but there was enough to piece things together, for her, enough that it was not the most pressing issue.[break][break]
the mineral vein, presumably, was just another catalyst, or another source of energy that would cause anomalies and likely accelerate the end. it was mysterious, but it was here, the drk triad had not been able to send it away, and hoenn’s brightest would uncover its secrets soon enough.[break][break]
she opted for a different route.[break][break]
”the people in this region value their lives. to most, there is no worse outcome than death, which we were able to evade today, no thanks to you.”[break][break]
her eyes were cold. it was then with utter confidence that she asked, ”but while we're on the topic of ‘fate’, what exactly is the drk triad’s connection to arceus?”

Lulu did not look particularly pleased with Nomi's line of questioning, but made no effort to verbally scold her mentee. A united front would be critical, in order to properly intimidate Dr. Holo. Nomi sucked in a breath, realizing she was throwing too many questions at the captured woman all at once; Lulu meant to slow things down. One question at a time. Though time was exactly what they did not have enough of right now, overwhelming their captive would do them little good.[break][break]
Doomed you to a worse fate...[break][break]
Something itched at the back of Nomi's brain. She'd read the reports compiled by Martín del Mar prior to Rocket's space expedition. Nomi had known that the possibility of the DRK Triad appearing was of real concern. Sure enough, they had.[break][break]
What had the Rocket underboss written, exactly?[break]

All universes are born and die. The DRK TRIAD believes our universe (820) to be responsible for a future cataclysmic event that will threaten the end of all universes.

That was it. Yes, of course. The DRK Triad did desire to destroy Hoenn, in order to spare the rest of the universe from annihilation. Or so they believed. Nomi ought to have remembered this sooner, but she'd been escaping from a dangerous meteor barely an hour ago, so she could forgive her brain for lagging behind just a little.[break][break]
Lulu's next question about Arceus was an important one, perhaps the most important one. It was likely the crux of all of this, somehow. In support of her superior, Nomi followed up with, "Arceus must be involved, one way or another." She eyed the white-haired woman, more curious than anything else, and asked calmly, "Which also begs the question: how are you - the DRK Triad - sure that our Hoenn is the origin point for a universe-ending cataclysm - as in, what hard evidence do you have?"

at the mention of the cloud, questions bloomed in her head over and over. who had built it? what did it run on? was it also eons old? were there other clouds?[break][break]
one question, however, begged asking above all others. perhaps even more so than scientific curiosity, it was driven by her very own mortality. the simple resentment that came with what seemed to be the long-forsakenness of mankind.[break][break]

What we do is at Arceus's behest.[break][break]
Nomi narrowed her crimson eyes, used every ounce of her remaining willpower to try and discern if Holo was lying. The white haired woman's expression had taken on a frustrated edge. When she shook her head, it was a tired gesture - as if she were speaking to two unruly children who simply could not understand the complexities of her explanation. Whether or not Arceus was directing the DRK Triad's actions, Holo believed what she was saying. She was a devout follower, willing to do the bidding of her God regardless of whether or not Arceus was actually the one calling the shots.[break][break]
As a scientist, Nomi knew that faith could be a very, very dangerous thing, indeed.[break][break]
Lulu asked the next logical question: Arceus's current location. Nomi wondered if Holo would - could - reveal such a thing, even if she was telling the truth about the God's involvement. Perhaps the DRK Triad had access to a dimension nobody knew about, somewhere only Arceus and its agents could come and go.[break][break]
There is an Unown Dimension, isn't there? She realized suddenly. Was that important? It had to be. The Unown were a key component in all of this - connected to the mysterious Cloud, to travel between dimensions, to the death of Moltres...Nomi had read the reports.[break][break]
The report...[break][break]
"What is the purpose of the Unown Report?" She asked.

holo smiles wide, the corners of her lips filled with a smugness found on the worn spines of texts and undusted monitors.[break][break]

"which arceus?"[break][break][break][break][break][break]

"what is the purpose of the unown report?"
"the unown report is a compendium of knowledge. created words and imagined concepts. inadverdently, an unown attaches itself to an idea, regardless of how fantastic it is." holo says.[break][break]

"that is why the social conscience is dangerous. why archetypes persist through time and space. the unown, the building blocks of our worlds, can create anything out of the tiniest speck of imagination."[break][break]

before holo can say more, the space behind her opens up like unfolding panels. an UNOWN-A emerges from the vacant, black tear in space and right behind it, a white-haired woman. her hand graces holo's shoulder.[break][break]

"the revenant and her pink partner." she speaks clearly. articulately with a sleepy grace. "i'm afraid i have to cut your playtime short."[break][break]

the spatial rift surges toward holo and the lady, the UNOWN-A fidgeting about before them. the drk triad is enveloped by it. the space sews itself up, black panels folding in on themselves so that they leave no trace.

FEEL FREE TO POST AGAIN BEFORE REQUESTING ARCHIVAL; THE UNOWN-A CAN NOT BE SCANNED BY THE UNOWN REPORT YET.

which arceus. what a revelation—but should it have been, really? [break][break]
holo’s smugness was equal parts irritating and concerning, though details of the unown kept her rooted where she stood, stunned with anger.[break][break]
she’d always despised whoever had been sitting behind the curtain. that not-so-old motive to end all things herself hadn’t been out of hate for humanity, and its design flaws. taking out the invention would never have been enough when hands were at the ready to build anew.[break][break]
she’d assumed it to be arceus alone, turning the screws. Suspicion had rose around the unown, but now? they were just as responsible. for war, hatred, disease. for the condition of chryssa glasgow , and the cruelty done unto her own brother, Cillian Quinn .[break][break]
things were much less abstract. curtain flew open.[break][break]
”you know which arceus i—“[break][break]
when the lady and her unown-a appeared, they were unfamiliar—though certainly not hard to identify as a disruption. ”no! stop them!”[break][break]
as she lunged, so too did the sweeping shadow of darkrai, claws outstretched. they grasped at nothing, their captive escaped through space and time(?).[break][break]
”fuck!” the scientist’s teeth grit, before splitting with an incoherent growl of rage, as a chair was kicked over violently.[break][break]
’the revenant? that’s what they call me?’ though there was no clear answer, confirmation came in some familiar whisper of divine sensation. it was a concerning title, considering one thing: to come back, one first had to leave.[break][break]
”we’re going to hq.”[break][break]
green, yellow, red. a beheeyem held up arms, ready to teleport them away.
