Dione grunted as she set up the hammock within the trees. This was beginning to get on her nerves. But she was here to observe how the bug-life in this area went about and what lived here. So she needed the hammock to just chillax and let the bugs do their thing!

But this damn hammock was proving to be smarter than her. The woman groaned, throwing her hands up and letting it all fall to the ground. "Stupid piece of crap." Huffing, she crossed her arms. She felt Fancy land on her head, the Villvilon nudging her gently. "Oh, don't start. Not like you can do it, either."

Fancy trilled, flying off in a little pouty moment.

"Yeah, yeah."

CRISPR ♂ SHIELD DUST | Bug Buzz / Hurricane / Psybeam / Aromatherapy / Sleep Powder / Supersonic

Gideon was hiking through the rocky woods along Route 103 at a leisurely pace, his own VIVILLON fluttering by his side. He’d just stepped into a clearing, where the trees gave way to a particularly pleasant meadow, when he heard sounds of frustrated swearing nearby. Looking up, he saw a woman and their Pokemon struggling on a ridge.

“Would you like some help with that?” Gideon offered, though he kept a respectable distance from her until she told him otherwise.

CRISPR, his VIVILLON, wasn’t nearly as respectful, though. The butterfly Pokémon hovered closer, mostly interested in the other of its species that accompanied the would-be hammocker. He offered Fancy a a trilling ‘hello’ and a gentle wave of his nubby hand.

It wasn't unheard of for people to be in a forest. No.

But did it still startle Dione?

Yes.

The woman jolted, arms blocking her face as if it was some split reaction- but seeing nothing coming from her, and it was a simple gesture of help, she collected herself from her encounter. "Uh." Well she felt a little embarrassed, but her attention was caught as Fancy had found herself a few playmate. A butterfree. Dione tossed a ball towards it.

"If you want, think it'll take Arceus himself to fix this damned thing."

Gideon felt a little bad for startling her, but figured he could make it up to her by helping undo some of... the... wow this thing was really knotted up, huh?

"You weren't kidding." He remarked, his eyebrows scrunching together in concentration as he worked through the worst of the tangles. Eventually he freed the webbing strap on one end, though, and tied it to a nearby tree.

"Alright, that should do it! Try anchoring the other end now. Hopefully the trees aren't too far apart."

Meanwhile, CRISPR fluttered over to where the odd... blob in the ground jutted out. It retracted into its burrow some, but its pink nose was still visible. Feeling like it might be a Pokémon the professor would be interested in, the VIVILLON released its SLEEP POWDER above the WIGLETT and trilled for Gideon to come catch it.
