The rain had come down hard and sudden. Remiel had been excavating a site near METEOR FALLS when it had started. And, to be frank, he hadn't been expecting it. There were no plastic tarps to put over his workstation or site, but at least he always carried an emergency poncho in his pack. So, placing it on, he set off to go home.

He began making his way down the trail until, suddenly, a strange draconic cry echoed throughout the valley.

Was it in pain? Was it angry? The royal dragon tamer couldn't even determine what species of dragon it belonged to. It was, more than likely, something that had crossed over after the events surrounding METENO. So, deciding his curiosity was too great, Remiel summons his HISUIAN GOODRA, PETRICHOR, and heads into the forest to investigate.

drawn by the odd draconic cry, matias finds himself venturing into the forest as well, diverting away from his path back home after a quick visit to meteor falls.[break][break]

footsteps muffled by the sound of rainfall, matias' trek through the forest is uneventful as the muddy terrain does little to slow his approach. he searches, gaze cast around him in search of whatever had made that cry.[break][break]

for now, he's yet to run into the other person in the forest.

His Hisuian Goodra made the gloopiest of stomps through the mud as they explored. Eventually, it managed to attract the attention of a ZWEILOUS who had been lost in the wood. It launches a blue fireball (DRAGON RAGE) from one of its mouths angrily, though it ceases to do much damage against the Goodra's formidable shell.

With a much more persistent and fiery DRAGON BREATH, however, Petrichor manages to knock the Zweilous unconscious before Remiel follows up with the toss of an empty luxury ball. The bright light emanated from that capture may or may not alert another traveler nearby. Perhaps he might even be confused for some sort of YETI.

That's how these things happened, right?

for that battle, at least, as another happens right now as a gastrodon's WATER GUN comes spiraling towards them. rampardos' SHEER FORCE empowers it to barrel right through to ZEN HEADBUTT the water-type away into a pokeball.[break][break]

Remiel hears a voice, and turns in time to see a GASTRODON subdued and caught. It's dark and rainy, so they can't exactly get a good look at each other's faces without light. Nevertheless, the prince raises his hand in greeting.

"Hello there. Did you hear that, too? Earlier?"

Meanwhile, a nearby SANDSHREW struggles to free itself from the mud with a RAPID SPIN. As a result, mud splatters on his Goodra, and it huffs before coming down on the little creature with a POWER WHIP. Though harsh, Remiel does little to lament the fact and instead tosses an empty ball to capture it. He then steps off briefly to retrieve it.

Another Ground-type THRASHES helplessly in the mud created by the rain. This one is larger and has far more teeth. Its bellows and roars are frightening in the dark, though certainly not what the ambassador had heard earlier.

matias would actually be a very decent ranger as he's well-equipped and experienced in handling wild pokemon. he had spent the majority of his life roaming the wilderness, after all. but the current positioning the rangers hold would not be a fit for him. at least not in hoenn.[break][break]

rampardos' FRENZY PLANT emerges from the ground, easily overwhelming the pawniard and though it may struggle with NIGHT SLASHES, it falls eventually, disappearing into a pokeball.[break][break]

Remiel laughs. His own experiences with the ranger corp hadn't all been pleasant. In fact, they tended to get in the way of his extracurricular work. Though, given his experience with dragon taming and habitat care, one would imagine he would make a fine ranger himself.

Much to his surprise, however, he's met with MATIAS SILPH himself. "Oh? Funny to run into you here, of all places." He remarks, watching as a soaking wet GIBLE pitifully hides beneath his Goodra's shell. The Goodra's dripping goop, however, splashes on its face by accident (ACID SPRAY).

It's then that Remiel decides it might find better shelter in a luxury ball, so he produces one and tosses it.

this stranger's affinity for dragons stands out only because of how capable his goodra seems to be. it tackles encounters almost effortlessly which can only be attributed to how it was raised.[break][break]
