Recent sightings of MINIOR plummeting down to Earth had been in the news. Within hours of the discovery, scientists from across the region were tasked with helping the Meteor Pokémon, Gideon included.

The "rescue" was not necessarily fueled by empathetic concern, but by scientific curiosity. Gideon and his team had received an emergency permit to collect MINIOR for study in order to try and understand what was causing them to fall in such large numbers. It was an anomaly that needed to be explored.

Joining him to aid in the collection was Amelia Livy, who Gideon had known and worked with throughout the last few years since his return to Hoenn.

"Glad you could make it on such short notice, Lia." The professor said, although his focus was divided. Currently his umber eyes were pointed skyward, looking for signs of MINIOR falling. His DITTO, Morpho, had already transformed into one of the teams' ALAKAZAMs, ready to join in on psychically stalling the descent of the MINIOR.

There are certain circumstances where science and humanities meet, although in her life this has mostly been when it comes to Archeology. On this particular late Autumn night, they meet at no Archeological dig, instead finding themselves looking up towards skies illuminated by Minior in their rapid descent.

As a Ranger, it’s a sight that fills her with concern, knowing well how short the lifespan of a Minior is after they lose their shell.

”Of course. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world.” She gives GIDEON GRAVES a slight smile, having come to know him through their work, yet her golden gaze returns to the skies soon enough, and a slight frown forms at her brow. ”Don’t think there’s ever been a Minior shower this big. “Certainly larger than any of the ones I’ve witnessed in Alola.” Granted, Gideon only spent a few years in the region while he was conducting his postdoctoral research, which was not focused on MINIOR. Still, he found the species to be fascinating, thus his interest in participating in this collection.

His team had already started to work. They’d slowed the impact of several MINIOR and were securing them in Poke Balls to hopefully sustain the longevity of the specimens before returning them to the laboratory. Once there, life-support measures would be put in place to more adequately study the Pokemon.

“Here we are,” Gideon began, his body fluidly going into action as two MINOR descended nearby. Unfortunately, the pair was on a crash course - they fell at angle and were poised to slam into one another. The professor motioned for his ditto!ALAKAZAM to stop the collision, but it was too much to handle on its own. Morpho slowed them, but they did inevitably collide with an audible BAM!

“Not ideal.” He signed, approaching the crash site. Looking down into the small crater that had formed, he saw two deshelled MINIOR - one a glowing pink color, the other a deep black.
