Hideo turned towards Gwyar Wledig , sweat visibly appearing on his brow.
"A friend of mine said one appeared to her when she was trying to build a tower. Knocked it down, getting angry about hubris or something. But U-" He stopped himself for a moment, nearly letting out that Uxie had been the one to tell him. "-uh, my Beheeyem told me he saw Volcanion down here when Rocket was invading Littleroot. It's supposed to be a really tough Pokemon, and it was made of the stuff in here. If it's like that Corviknight that chased us, I don't think it's coming to talk."
He raised his thumb to his mouth, biting lightly on his thumbnail. He didn't know what Gwyar had planned with a Klink, but if it was anything mechanical, there wasn't much he could do to help. The best he could do was provide a bit more information. "I did a little bit of research on Volcanion, and it's known to make a lot of steam. It's probably Steel-type if it's mechanical, but it could also be Water-type…or Fire-type?"
Either made sense to him, but each had completely different precautions to make, preparations to take.
There was still some time until Volcanion's arrival, with Hideo unsure what to do other than plan out what he would use on its arrival. Enough time for the others to put together whatever it was they had planned to construct.
By the time the loud thumping indicating something heavy approaching could be heard, Hideo had decided on a pair of Pokeballs. He let them out, the Zeraora and Hatterene inside raring for a battle.
The moment a Volcanion popped its head into the room, the Zeraora was quite literally on it, digging its Plasma Fists into the large Pokemon. The only noise that came from the Volcanion was creaking metal as it was pushed back, crackling fists echoing through the warehouse. His Hatterene, meanwhile, was enveloped in the glow of a Mega Evolution - the best odds she could get against a Pokemon that was probably Steel-type.
"Zeraora and Hatterene can buy us some time," Hideo said, staying close enough for his "Ralts" to monitor the situation. "You guys get whatever you have planned working?"
Though as he said that, he could hear his Zeraora be pushed back by a blast of steam. Perhaps a momentary lapse - he hadn't used this Pokemon much, so he still wasn't too familiar with how it fought.
Yet concern grew as he heard another steam blast in short succession - and then another. Though he didn't know too much about Volcanion, could it really attack that quickly? And then suddenly, it sounded as if the loud steps were coming from another room, and his Mega Hatterene launched an attack against the source.
The answer to that came quickly, as the attacker made its way into the room - followed by another. And another. And another from where his Mega Hatterene was battling. His "Ralts" gave him the reason, but it would be plainly visible to everyone else what was going on: there was more than one Volcanion. "Ah shit," Hideo muttered, backing away. His Zeraora was still putting up a fight, but it was a match for one Volcanion - not several - and his Hatterene sounded like she was having enough trouble keeping one back, even with her current power.
"Shit shit shit shit." He went through his Pokeballs, trying to think of which one to bring out next - but he had no idea what to choose. While he could use his Uxie, he didn't want to risk breaking its cover from a stray attack.
His hand found his Alakazam's Pokeball. He was still having disciplinary issues with this Pokemon, but there was no doubt it was a powerful and crafty one. With no other option, he let it out, the dusky Alakazam taking in the situation as it unfolded.
And it was not eager to stay.
Hideo could feel his Alakazam grab him by the back of the collar, and he was fairly certain his Alakazam grabbed his Zeraora as it was pushed back by another attack. His Mega Hatterene retreated back towards them, holding off the Volcanions as best as she could.
"...W-wait!" Hideo shouted, his Uxie informing him what his Alakazam had planned - and he could recognize the sound of a Teleport charging up. It'd take a moment to charge - enough time for anyone else to hitch a ride if they so wanted. "No! Stop!"
But his protesting wasn't going to stop them - and soon, they would Teleport out of the Mechanical Kingdom into the middle of the Route 117 forest - along with anyone else that tagged along (intentionally or not).
