It's nighttime, and the stars are out in full display within ROUTE 111's canyon. The view of the cosmos above is enchanting, though the sound of wild Pokémon nearby manage to distract the traveling ambassador from that stellar beauty.

After packing up and dismantling his campsite, the prince summons a NIDOKING to travel alongside him as they continue the search for rogue MEGALOPOLANS. The sound of his monster's thundering stomps echoes throughout the canyon effortlessly. They're not exactly being sneaky.

Instead, they're using themselves as bait.

A beautiful night punctuated by thundering footsteps...Keenan couldn't get to sleep because of them. Getting up, it seemed his Gliger was also awake. Perching himself on the blonde's shoulder, they decided to check out what was making that racket. It was definitely aggrivating the local Pokemon, but they also weren't going after it. Keenan soon found why. A Nidoking. Such a cool looking Pokemon. His own Gliger didn't like the looks of it. The duo seemed to be walking with purpose though. His judgement told him to run the hell away and just hope that they leave the area or got tired of making a racket.

But another part of him told him to stay and watch, see if they needed help with something. Sooner or later, a Pokemon was going to attack them. They weren't going to let this go on forever. Or for long...

The fossil Pokémon that emerge seem more curious about them than anything. The LILEEP approaches Remiel like a doe seeking treats. The AMAURA, in the meantime, saunters over to the Nidoking with a curious sniff and mewl.

Reaching into his pack for a granola bar, the royal breaks off a piece before feeding it to the prehistoric Pokémon that had approached him. The Lileep in question happily scarfs it down, then nudges itself into Remiel's hand for more. This time, however, he pulls an empty Luxury Ball out from his pack before tapping it against the creature gently.

But the ensuing flash startles the other Pokémon.

Keenan nearly had a heart attack! How could someone be so lucky as to have TWO fossil Pokemon show up right in front of them?! Both Pokemon seemed curious about the trainer and Pokemon. The guy didn't seem so bad as he offered the Lileep treats, and consequently, tried to capture it. Startling the Amaura, it started to run off. But Keenan noticed someone or something had taken a chunk out of a tree, causing to start to fall...right on top of the prehistoric Pokemon! The blonde darted out before thinking and tackled the Pokemon out of the way before his Houndoom could do anything. Both him and the Amaura got up, and it looked like it was about to bolt again, but saw the tree that nearly crushed it. Looking back at Keenan with wide and shiny eyes, the boy couldn't help but take out a Pokeball. "Wanna come with?" The prehistoric pokemon booped the Pokeball.

Meanwhile, Kee's Houndoom moved beside him, growling at an unknown foe, clearly not aiming his hostility at the fossil Pokemon or at the stranger.

The treefall had captured Remiel's attention. Jogging over to see what had caused it, he instead found Keenan Toral and his HOUNDOOM standing there. "Hello there," The Galarian ambassador greets. "Are you alright?"

Just as his Nidoking catches up, however, a KLEAVOR makes itself known from the top of a nearby ridge. The true culprit behind the treefall takes offense to their presence here and leaps down to attack the Nidoking with a SLASH. It is, however, countered with a powerful stomp that summons an explosion of the earth beneath it (EARTH POWER).

As the Kleavor weakly attempts to lift itself back up, the Galarian produces an empty Luxury Ball from his pack and tosses it for capture. "These Hisuian Pokémon are quite territorial, aren't they?" He sighs, shaking his head.

It was an odd Pokemon's doing. Some divergent evolution of Scyther. No, that wasn't right...old evolution of Scyther? Kee was trying to wrap his brain around where he heard/seen that Pokemon before, even while the Amaura booped his pokeball and got inside it. "Yeah, I'm fine." Much as his Houndoom wanted vengeance on the old Pokemon, he stayed back and let the Nidoking do its thing, the other trainer threw a Luxury Ball. Weren't those kind of expensive? "That's where I've seen or heard of a Kleaver! Sorry, anyways, yeah, so it seems. Though you weren't exactly hiding either...practically inviting trouble with your 'king's stomping around. That's why I'm out here, couldn't sleep and decided to investigate it..." He hoped he didn't just ruined the man's night hunting or anything. Though it was also not nice to be doing that and disturbing...well, everyone. There were better ways to night hunt for Pokemon.

After hearing out the lad, Remiel expression shifts into one of apology. "Oh dear, I'm sorry. Are you camping nearby? I suppose I didn't expect anyone here but me, given the recent sightings of Megalopolans in the area." The royal adds with a concerned look.

Meanwhile, a pesky LAMPENT seems determined to annoy his Nidoking. Since it's faster than the giant brute, it attempts to get away with spitting off an EMBER. The attack proves ineffective, however, and it is shocked to find the Nidoking barreling straight through it with a POISON JAB. When Remiel notices what has happened, he takes a moment to pull out another Luxury Ball and cast it for swift capture.

When the guy's expression turned into a look of apology, Kee figured he didn't know anyone was out here. Though admittedly, it wasn't exactly a popular campsite or anything. Then he mentioned sightings of Megalopolans in the area, adding a concerned look. The amber eyed teenager paled. Didn't they use Ultra Beasts? Super powerful pokemon from their home dimension? "R-really? I didn't know...I haven't seen or heard anything of late...guess I've been more concerned about how everyone back in Littleroot were doing..." Thankfully he hadn't encountered anything unusual.

A bold Lampent did go after the guy's Nidoking. Meanwhile, a wild Growlithe did come out, having witnessed Keenan saving that Amaura, and said Amaura going into a Pokeball. The puppy sparked a conversation with Keenan's Houndoom. And while they were talking, the Growlithe evidently issued a challenge...only to be knocked away with a single Dark Pulse. Keenan saw it, and threw a Pokeball. Another puppy for the team?

A terrified BONSLY suddenly runs towards them. Confused, Remiel crouches down to greet it. Instead, it lunges into his arms and hides. Rising from his crouch, and signaling at his Nidoking to stand guard, the prince decides to carry the Bonsly for now. It's shivering with fear, after all, and he isn't some emotionless monster.

Returning his attention to the conversation he was having, however, Remiel nods. "I suppose the word is still spreading about cannibals in the canyon. Everything else that has happened has certainly dominated the news networks recently as well." He adds.

Just then, the reason for the Bonsly's state emerges from the dark: a charging RAMPARDOS that had actually confused the little Pokémon as a tasty plant.

Keenan nodded. Of course, it didn't exactly help that his little brother evidently got involved in the fighting. Thankfully not getting hurt nor his Pokemon taking much damage, but still. He was a worry wort. A terrified Bonsly came out, followed by a rampaging Rampardos. That was cool! Before he could even say the word, his Houndoom stepped in front of the beast, and used Protect, blocking the Take Down no problem. Then he used Dark Pulse. The Rampardos avoided it, and tried to use Chip Away. Only to get knocked back with Fire Blast. And again with Dark Pulse. Rampardos struggled to get up, but Keenan threw a pokeball at it. "Anyways, yeah, my parents live right on the edge of Littleroot. Thankfully their place was spared everything, but my little brother decided to get involved in the fighting for only Arceus knows why. I'm sure he already got a scolding of a lifetime from mom, but he's probably more stubborn than they are...and perhaps way too confident in his abilities..." Not that he could blame the tyke. Aaron was probably one of the town's strongest youths, including high schoolers.
