"Is your brother okay?" Remiel asks. "I heard about what happened to the theater. I'm sure the situation there is vastly different from what it was before."

He pauses from the conversation, however, when he spots something clawing its way out from a pile of rock and rubble. It's an ANORITH, and his Nidoking approaches it to inspect. When it SLASHES at his foot, however, he punishes it with a powerful stomp (EARTH POWER).

Remiel reaches into his pack, pulls out an empty Luxury Ball, and tosses it down at the ancient creature afterward.

"Oh, he's fine. In his words, all the Rockets he faced were either cowards or pansies or both. He wasn't impressed with them. And really wanted to go after them, but he got into some wierd space that prevented him from doing so. He got out without a scratch on his pretty head. Only his Steelix and Metagross got hurt a little bit, but they were still very much combat ready. I'm not too surprised really...he just showed off his third gym badge...where I only have one so far..." And Ace was probably one of the strongest youths in the little town. And was proving it.

An Anorith crawled out of the rocks and started to attack. The rumbling from the Earth Power made a Larvesta drop on top of Houndoom's head. The bug was let down, and then snuggled the dog. After some cooing, Keenan picked it up and fed it some berries he had. It was so appreciative, it actually found a Pokeball and made himself go inside. Well...that was a first that has ever happened. "Anyways, he's probably the strongest youth in town, including the high schoolers and young adults. As worried as I am, he'll be fine if that's all that happened to him..."

Remiel laughs. "Cowards and shameless opportunists: they say that's what most people in Rocket are." He remarks, fully aware of the irony of his statement despite that.

As the lad deals with his own wild Pokémon, a ROCKRUFF comes out from a crevice in the canyon wall to inspect the scene. Remiel drops to a crouch as it approaches, allowing it a chance to sniff his hand before reaching into his pack for a poffin. He feeds it this treat, and it seems to warm up to him enough to allow the press of a Luxury Ball.

Once it disappears in a flash of golden light, Remiel stands again and returns his attention to Keenan. "You're going after the gym challenge yourself, then. Just like your brother. That's admirable." He nods with an approving smile. "I've acquired a few badges myself."

The guy laughed and elaborated. Opportunists and cowards. And yet..."Still seemed like they made some bold plays as of late. From capturing Sootopolis to attacking Mt. Pyre and Littleroot. I doubt any of those left with much opportunity given they knew League trainers were there..." Seemed odd that they would strike when the entire purpose was to divert the meteor and destroy the dome. Unless they knew something the League didn't. Keenan ignored the Crustle running away from them, even as his Houndoom growled at it.

Then came the comment about the gym challenge. Scratching the back of his head, Kee corrected the man. "The gym challenge was actually my idea. Since I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Ace already had some good ideas. I don't know what changed or how he stuck in two more challenges than I did, but it looks like he was going after it as well. He earned the first one by a chance encounter with noah faber just before we left, and we challenged him to a double battle. His Electrike beat my Houndour, and Gym Leader Noah's Hitmonchan took a draw against Ace's Trevenant..." That was a heart pounding fight. Though even Aaron admitted that the Hitmonchan was likely to win with another Ice Punch or two. "Which ones? Did you find it hard to schedule challenges? I've been having terrible luck trying to find one with an opening..."

Keenan brought up a good point, and Remiel wished to make a remark on the foolishness that Rocket had displayed. But the royal grew silent when he heard the familiar stomping pattern of a TYRANTRUM approaching. The moment passed, and soon the lad spoke of the gym challenge before asking him about his experiences.

But, before he could answer, the ancient dinosaur turned the corner of a canyon ridge and found them. Insulted by the presence of another titan in this territory, it went straight for Remiel's Nidoking with a BITE. The Nidoking in question, of course, would not simply stand there. It stomped forward and struck back with a devastating EARTH POWER.

The Tyrantrum would soon collapse with a thunderous crash afterward. The royal would pull out a Luxury Ball to capture it before turning his attention back to Keenan. "I've been around for three years. Many of the gyms I conquered no longer exist. As for scheduling, it's always been particularly difficult for me given my own hectic schedule. Have you visited Alexei Ivanov 's gym yet? He's a friend of mine." He adds with a smile.

The man remained silent about Rocket for now. Though the familiar stomps of a Tyrantrum could be heard. Though not towards them it seemed...just a quick passer by. Or so he thought. It burst out of the trees and went straight for the Nidoking. Only to fall pretty quickly and subsequently captured. Only then did Remiel answer his question. The gym leaders had since changed since he challenged them, but only really had trouble scheduling due to his own time. Alexei Ivanov huh..."No, not yet. Only badge I have right now is Greyson Connors 's. Ace challenged Alexei a while back, managed a draw, but done enough to earn it. I bet that kind of irked him though...Aaron's not the type to accept two draws so easily, he'll want a victory. And that showed with his third. Anyways, I'll see if he has an opening after I check in with my parents and little bro..." It had been a hot minute since he last checked for slots on gyms. He may start hitting the Minor League just to get a better feel for it...

Remiel nods with approval at Jun's win over Greyson Connors and the acquisition of his badge. "Impressive," He remarks, watching as a curious GROWLITHE sneaks closer to his Nidoking for a sniff. "You seem to be off to a great start defeating Greyson's gym."

Meanwhile, the Nidoking takes notice of the curious wild creature nearby and snarls. A hissing match ensues, but it is quickly quelled when the larger beast whacks the other with its tail (POISON JAB). Afterward, Remiel takes notice of the poisoned Pokémon, pulls out an empty Luxury Ball, and casts it down for a capture.

Keenan groaned at the compliment. "Thanks, but dear Arceus I hope I never have to get involved in an incident like what he did for the non-traditional challenge. I was still half surprised he rated our firepower at B. But the other two grades were higher yet. If that's the toughest out of the bunch, I'll be in the clear." Or so he says. Gym leaders were tough. Some tougher than they seem on paper. A Centiscorch scurried away from them as a Growlithe got a little too curious. Remmy caught it. "After checking up on my parents and bro, I may see if noah faber has any openings. I'm ready for that rematch." Granbull and Mimikyu were mostly trained and at the ready. They soon found a crossroads. One with a sign that sent them to a town. Well, at least he knew where to go after tonight. "I think I'm gonna head back to my camp. At least I know where to go in the morning. Good luck. If I find or see anything, I'll report it..." With that, he went back towards camp with Houndoom leading the way.

"Good luck with your efforts, lad," Remiel nods. He'd always held great respect for those younger than him who dared to take the League challenge. It took no small amount of grit and dedication to rise up the ranks in an attempt to face the Elite Four. But, alas, it seemed his chance encounter with Keenan Toral was coming to an end.

"Farewell. It was nice meeting you." The royal says, waving a hand goodbye while his Nidoking huffs. If there were any Megalpolans nearby, surely the violent sounds they'd been making just earlier had scared them off elsewhere.
