Despite the cold, Locke once again found himself at the Safari's gates in high spirits. While he hadn't been able to run through the current selection as often as he'd have liked, even getting to enter the Safari twice in a month was enough of a treat for the courier.

The bushes on one side of the path rustled promisingly, only for a familiar off-white ball to bounce in front of the pair and uncurl into a foreign Sandshrew. The Pokémon seemed to recognize them too, as it just as quickly popped back into ball form and roll away.

Locke's measly human strength soon gave way to the Legendary's, however, and as his grip on Latias slid away her ward was left reeling from the sudden loss of counterweight, stumbling ass-first into the pond behind him. The pool's Staryu inhabitant was not please by his sudden intrusion, evicting the courier with its Psychic power before he could even stand on his own again.

He did find her, eventually, harassing some other Pokémon by the looks of it. As she sensed his approach Latias turned around excitedly, holding up some poor Eiscue that squirmed desperately in her hands.

Her confusion was distraction enough for the Pokémon to wiggle its way out of the dragon's grasp, waddling away the second it touched the ground.

Locke pointed ecstatically at the ground, directing Latias' gaze downward. Where they'd been searching for a glimpse of red they were instead greeted by sparkling pink-a lucky find for their final trip of the selection.

The pair landed in front of the shiny Delibird, maybe a bit too quickly as the penguin was immediately startled away by their sudden appearance. It didn't get far, its waddling feet suddenly free-floating as Latias' Telekinesis held it in place for her ward to toss a safari ball at.

Given that its options were to either accept capture or be dragged out of the Safari by the legendary's psychic force, Locke hoped it would choose the less-troublesome of the two.
