Really? She was choosing a Dragon against him? Though he knew that he wasn't well known as a dragon specialist, she at least saw the two pokemon he had signed up with. So the fact that she was choosing to meet him head on with a dragon of her was perplexing at the very least, but it wouldn't change the outcome. So he sent out his own dragon to kick things off with. Orira his Goodra that had undergone a change during one of the rifts, and now it was a powerhouse. If his Gym Battle against the Mauville leader was anything to go, he was sure that it would do just fine here, against a dragon that he was familiar with at the very least.

"The Queen of Jesters, huh? That is an interesting title." Though he wasn't mocking her, and instead he gave the first order if they were going to let him go first, he wouldn't waste it. "Freeze it!" He gave the order to his Goodra who charged up an Ice Beam, and then sent the frigid energy soaring towards the opponent that was just hovering over the ground seemingly without a care in the world.

If she was going to use a type that he had such a close relationship with, he expected her to put up a good fight, and if she disappointed him, he wouldn't feel good about winning. Though letting her announcer do most of the talking for her was a curious choice. At least Josh Devlin spoke to him directly during their battle. Though perhaps otehr leaders weren't as talkative as the racing fantatic? Having never challenged the Gym Circuit before he had no idea what the actual norms were. So it was purely just guesswork at this point, but he hoped to have more of it learned in some time.

Goodra used Ice Beam!

It would seem that his Goodra was more of a rarity than he thought, because no one seemed to know it's typing except for him. At least in all the battles that he had taken it in so far. Josh Devlin had learned the hard way just how much of a fortress this particular dragon was. The same way this woman would, and so Amor didn't even give the order to have his Goodra dodge it. Instead the blue energy of the Dragapult crashed into his Goodra, but now it was almost in point blank, and so Amor gave the order.

"Dragon Pulse!" He roared as a blitz of energy soared from Orira's mouth towards his opponent, Johanna might notice that the attack that would normally be super effective, seemed to deal not as much damage to his steel-sheened Goodra. Though Amor couldn't fault her for not knowing about that, since he didn't think many had one of this variety. It took all his willpower to not brag about how strong his own dragon was compared to many others, but he had learned that he was her first challenger. He felt that it would be in poor taste to do such a thing, and so he was content to watch, and see how she handled this.

"Don't let up Orira!" He stated as his pokemon kept the Dragon Pulse attacks going hoping to snare the Dragapult in at least one of them.

The moment she used a Flamethrower, he just chuckled not realizing that in fact his Goodra's Dragon Pulse was disabled for the moment. Though that wasn't the move he tried to use.

"Water Pulse!" He gave the order as his Goodra shot out a ball of water to negate the fire attack, and the field was covered in a mist just like before, but this time he wasn't going to let up. If he let her think, fire was a weakness, then she was bound to use it again, and he could win this game of deception. "Now, Ice Beam!" He gave the order once more as the streaks of frigid energy shot through the mist towards the point of their ire, and to that Dragapult.

At her words of his Goodra being durable he nodded a bit with his arms crossed.

"Orira is like my fortress, but that doesn't mean your Dragapult is a slouch either. Having a variety of moves at your disposal is a good choice." He praised the newbie Gym Leader honestly. The point of her gym was to have fun, but to him it was such a bizarre concept, because battling itself was already fun. What they should have done was to have aerial battles on roller coasters, but he would save the suggestions for later.

"For a new Gym Leader, you're pretty tough." He said with a charming smile upon his lips.

The moment the infestation came to hit Amor gave the command to blast it away, and through it to finish this battle.

"Dragon Pulse!" He gave the order, and then something strange happened, the energy fizzled out each time Orira tried to build it up. Amor grit his teeth as he released that the Dragapult must have disabled the move somehow, and that lead to the Infestation landing on his Goodra, and swirling around it causing damage. It was a problem, and that meant Orira was going to get progressively weaker with each passing moment.

"Cheeky, and sneaky. Orira, use Ice Beam again!" He ordered as more beams of ice rushing through the air even as the Goodra was being pelted by the malicious swarm to finish the job it had started earlier.

Best case scenario is that the Dragapult would be frozen, or knocked out. Either of which netted him the win against her pokemon regardless.

"You use some interesting tactics....I will have to keep that in mind for the future. I didn't think your Dragapult would have Curse Body as an ability. Very smart to take away one of my super effective moves, and then use an attack that would whittle down my fortress over time. The question is, will it fall fast enough?" That would always be the question, she could chip away at it, but if she couldn't strike it down, it was all pointless at the end of the day.

Orira retaliates with Ice Beam again!

It was another Z-Move, thanks to Josh Devlin , Amor was well versed in how powerful these particular moves were, and of course there was no way his Goodra was going to be fast enough for it to dodge the attack. However he wouldn't need to dodge it, because Orira hunkered down, and waited for it's opponent to draw near. Then when the Dragapult crashed into it, it deal severe damage to his steely dragon, but this was the first "real" damage it had taken this entire fight, and it wasn't going to just go down from it. Though it was severely hurt, but now that the enemy was right in it's face, it couldn't let this chance pass by, and without any orders from Amor, another powerful Ice Beam let loose from it's maw.

Even though the Infestation had now severely limited it's time, and that last move had done quite a number on it, Orira was a fortress, and he would not fall so easily regardless of what the Gym Leader wanted. Amor's domain was over dragons, and they would always give their all for him. Orira was no different, even though the Infestation whittled away at his stamina, even though he had just tanked that horrible move head on, he still trudged on.

"Y'know, you're the second Gym Leader to use a move like that on me. Either I am really tough, or I need to get one of those for myself." He chuckled lightly waiting to see the result of the clash. If her Dragapult dodged again, then Orira would probably only have one, maybe two more attacks in him before he would be forced to retire.

The clock was ticking, and this was one battle, where he knew that he couldn't beat the clock.

Amor laments his lack of Z-Move

Orira didn't want to go down, he wanted to stay in, and keep fighting, and the moment her second Pokemon came about, he hunkered down planting his feet firmly. Every dragon under his command was this way, they wouldn't stop until they physically couldn't continue. However there was no need to push them that far, and the Infestation was whittling down Orira faster, and faster with each moment.

"You've done enough." He said with an easy smile, and then returned his dragon in a red beam of light. There was no order for his next one, and instead he sent out his Charizard in a flash of light, only for the Drifblim to immediately began to spread it's Hypnosis towards it. "You will have to try harder, Ogun, Fire Spin!" He gave the command as his Charizard began to breathe fire towards the ground, and several twisters of fire appeared on the field, and began to block the Hypnosis that was coming towards them.

The flaming twisters encroached upon the source of the distorted waves, and soon they were attempting to surround it, to cause it damage, and prevent it from retreating. Though since this was a one on one, retreat wasn't really an option for the opponent this time.

Already Amor was planning out how he would finish this, but there was no need for him to use that particular ability yet. Not when this particular round was still going. Though there was a strange ring on one of his fingers if someone was astute enough to notice it, and it was gleaming with an ominous light all the while.

"You will have to try harder than that, if you want to put us to sleep." He shouted across the battlefield to the Gym Leader with a vibrant smile.
