The search for more archaeological evidence of the DRACONID people was a never-ending endeavour. In Remiel's opinion, there was no greater place for it than METEOR FALLS. The fact that it lay so close to ROUTE 115, and his estate, meant he could visit this place almost daily. Unfortunately, other duties kept him from doing so.

But today was not one of those days.

Traveling alongside his LEAVANNY, Remiel carries a full pack stuffed with his excavation gear. Meteor Falls is always fraught with danger, so they must remain on high alert always. More than that, however, its labyrinthian-like caverns make it incredibly easy to get lost amidst cavernous rivers and pools. Attempts at mapping these areas had yielded some success, though certainly not enough to be confident.

theo is not as equally prepared. all he has on him are pokeballs, his pokemon, and a bottle of water as he makes his way through meteor falls, out on a run to better his cardio and clear his mind.[break][break]

joining him today is his shiny fennekin, the fire-type barely able to keep up with the pace its trainer is setting. but it knows it is expected to, so every step it takes is fastened with a PSYCHIC that helps propel it forward.[break][break]

A LOTAD floats peacefully down a gentle stream within the caves. It must have fallen from some crevice in the ceiling that leads to the thriving forests outside. Remiel's pink Leavanny playfully lands upon it with perfect balance.

When the Lotad GROWLS, however, she casts a STICKY WEB at it before flinging it to shore with a single tug. In truth, she was trying to help it. Nevertheless, the little kappa is hot and bothered as it squirms to release itself from the web. Rather than deal with cleaning it up right now, Remiel sighs and pulls out an empty Luxury Ball to capture it.

being more than familiar with the distinct scent of AROMATHERAPY, theo is able to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. he jogs along the path as usual until eventually coming across a hatenna, sprawled out on the ground as it sleeps.[break][break]

forced to step over it, he continues on his run. his fennekin pays it no mind either, too busy focusing on maintaining its concentration over the balls of its WILL-O-WISPS. the orbs float alongside it as it runs.

A TOTODILE emerges from the same cave river Remiel had just captured the Lotad from. The little croc seems annoyed that they'd taken away its friend. With no warning, it charges out from the river on both feet, attempting to BITE his Leavanny with its powerful jaws.

That attack is swiftly stopped in its tracks with an ELECTRO WEB. It wraps the Totodile up and immobilizes it before shocking it into submission. Catching the short crocodile with an easy toss of a Luxury Ball afterward is simple enough.

by now, theo must have encountered at least four delphox all at different times. he wonders if the species has made hoenn its new breeding grounds. or has there always been an abundance of them?[break][break]

either way, his fennekin stares up at the delphox and nudges its nose against it, telling it to go away.[break][break]

the delphox shrugs, then turns and walks away, perhaps having glimpsed into its FUTURE SIGHT.

A haunting PERISH SONG plays throughout the cavernous labyrinths of Meteor Falls. Remiel recognizes the pitch and tone of its song: an ALTARIA is taking ROOST somewhere nearby, and warding off all surrounding threats to begin building her nest. If she hadn't already mated, it seemed she was more than ready to do so.

Nevertheless, her song threatens them all. So, without hesitation, Remiel moves to find her before sending his Leavanny in to ensnare her in an ELECTRO WEB. The Altaria cries out ferociously, struggling to free herself as she is paralyzed. Remiel takes that moment to pull out an empty Luxury Ball and catch her.

Drawn by the PERISH SONG from earlier, and enraged by it, a DRAMPA smashes through a loose cave wall and returns the gesture with its ECHOED VOICE. Remiel is forced to cover his ears and endure the ear-splitting sound as his Leavanny charges in. In one swift dash, she manages to cover the angry dragon in her STICKY WEB.

In the midst of its escape attempt, Remiel recovers and pulls out an empty Luxury Ball from his pack. He casts said ball just as the Drampa sets itself free. It disappears in a flash of golden light.

after going down a different path to avoid the PERISH SONG, he continues on his run, keeping up the pace until he eventually runs into his next encounter.[break][break]

the girafarig while unique in its own way has no real place in his team. despite that, he's still unfamiliar with its paldean evolution, so for that reason only, he engages with it.[break][break]

fennekin's FIRE BLAST knocks it back despite its AGILITY. a PSYCHIC hold soon wraps around it, hindering its movements for a pokeball to find it.[break][break]

evolving it will take time and effort but he might try for it.
