As someone who had quite the fondness of rock types= and his starter being a rock type- Matt was questioning why Josh was attacking a water-type with it. A puzzled glance was given to the gym leader, but he saw now; he used it the same way he and Kazzy would against Nico's Pikachu. Use it to upset it's speed, but in this case, upset it's movement.

"You're grounded after this!" Matt hollered at Josh, sounding just like his own dad now. It was almost comical how the two switched, but things... did change over the time.

"Lookin' killer as ever though, Twilight." With a grunt, he went to make his way towards Josh. "We need to get you to a doctor, you're pretty banged up."

The many Pokémon attacking the giant, spiked Overqwil kept it generally pinned to one location. Nemesis' PLAYING ROUGH with the sides of one of its primary spikes was particularly effective at weakening their foe. The unison attack alongside the Mega Evolved Absol's ROCK SLIDE backed the oversized poison-type into a corner. It rapidly expanded its spiky body, attempting to jab everything and everyone nearby with a BARB BARRAGE. Even those not in melee range would be in danger, the dark-type using the force behind its own expansion to wildly ricochet off the reservoir's walls like a rubber ball ejected at high speed. While Twilight's QUICK ATTACK was fast enough to get Josh out of the way of the initial expansion, she had dodged right into the unpredictable Overqwil's path, puncturing her left side -- and her rider's right leg. 

With the Overqwil pinned by the ROCK SLIDE, dodging was next to impossible, letting the three Pokémon let loose with their strongest attacks. A forehead-blade NIGHT SLASH served as the finishing blow, puncturing the giant urchin's skin and causing the once-threatening wild to deflate. With the now-unconscious Overqwil unable to maintain the WATERFALL sealing the three explorers in, the liquid receded.

Invigorated by a second wind that miraculously purged the poison, Josh gave a high five to Matt Vice, then Isaac Merlo. He slid off his mount's back, the Absol reverting to her normal form. "Twilight... you're back at full strength," he slowly said, giving the white quadruped a big hug before turning toward his two friends. "Thank you. Both of you. Now how about we get out of this musty sewer and get a nice meal and something to drink? Preferably not adult."
