"Maybe," Callan replies. Was he going too easy on Melody? In his own battle against Melody in the Elite Four, she had tossed Z-Moves and legendaries against him as he battled her. Perhaps he should increase the pressure.

Magearna comes out next, curled into a ball, already its DEFENSE had improved. This was not a good matchup for his Gardevoir, he knew this, but regardless, he did not ask it to return just yet. Callan scratched his cheek, extending his neck left and right, releasing a crack as he loosens his shoulders. "Alright Mel, I'm making sure you're giving one hundred percent."

A FLASH CANNON releases from the Magearna, it was super effective against Eurea. The steel energy blast engulfs the Gardevoir as it singes her to the core, empowered by the EXPERT belt. Delivering a beam attack that nearly removes Gardevoir from the fight. Eurea limps, holding its arm as it barely manages to stand, RECOVERING from its wounds after having nearly lost all of its stamina and consciousness, its skin and flesh knit haphazardly back together as it readies its next attack.

"MYSTICAL FIRE!" Eurea's arms release a jet stream of purple flame at the Magearna.

"Move out of the way!" she orders as melody was very aware of gardevoir's abilities thanks to her own. [break][break]

Magearna rolls into a ball via DEFENSE CURL and tries to move out of the way of the mystical fire to save her own hide. However if the move still hit she would still defense curl to boost her physical defense and move over towards the gardevoir to get closer. "Staccato!" she calls out as the same arm cannon unfurls and an electric current charges up from magearna's soul heart and fires a CHARGE BEAM at the gardevoir in an attempt to boost her special attacking power. Melody's Magearna's DEFENSE CURL rolling works, to an extent. The flames enshroud against the external hardened shell of the Magearna's body, as it rolls and protects its core and necessary vitals to continue function, preventing severe damage from occurring.

The Magearna fires a CHARGE BEAM towards Eurea, who takes the blow. Electricity courses through her body and she winces, but her mental fortitude and psychic defenses allows her to continue going. The damage was beginning to wear on her, but fighting through adversity was something she was used to. "Oh, not bad." Callan noted, having now known the technique was CHARGE BEAM. Melody not using the words of her attacks did make it difficult to discern what she was doing, it was quite a smart way of battling.

"Eurea, Spearfire!"

Wreathes of MYSTICAL FIRE encircle the Gardevoir, rotating in a circle as it lifts its arm towards the Magearna. Displaying a mastery over its control of its own psychic abilities, the purple flames wreap into a single, condensed point at the tip of the Gardevoir's finger, turning from purple into an intense, bright green orb. The blast of energy comes out like a violent green arrow. Firing out like a Railgun towards the Magearna, if it did perform the Defense Curl again, it would find that this time, the flames would punch right through, and that the speed was enough that it'd be unable to roll away.

Melody watches as the mystical fire is condensed into a singular beam attack. [break][break]

"Defend your core!" she calls out as magearna crosses her arms over her chest and attempts to defend against the attack as she couldn't dodge such a fast moving attack, Callan had adapted to her strategy so quickly. The mystical fire threatens to consume her entirely as magearna's weakness to flames became evident if it wasn't already evident. [break][break]

However, she still stood and they were both badly damage yet unbeknownst to callan Melody had the advantage right here, those mystical fires were about to become a dagger that once turned on her was now pointed at him. "Remix!" she says as suddenly magearna pulses with a pink energy. SWAPPING GARDEVOIR AND MAGEARNA'S STATS CHANGES VIA HEART-SWAP [break][break]

As a result, gardevoir's special attack drops from mystical fire were now a curse placed onto her, the defense boost was brought as well but Melody didn't mind it too much since it mostly wouldn't come into play from her end. "Cadence!" she orders as magearna fires off another FLASH CANNON again.

The HEART SWAP came out soon after the fiery beam from Gardevoir connected. The reductions in the hexfire from the flames, which ad previously reduced the Magearna's special attack, were suddenly reversed upon Eurea. The glyphs sealed and interfered with her mental cognition. It was a great move.

"Nicely done." Callan mused. Now that the Magearna was free from tis own chains, its ability SOUL HEART would also trigger when it knocked out Gardevoir, which, upon the next FLASH CANNON, it did. The burst of steel light hits Eurea square in her torso, rendering it unconscious. Callan recalls her back to him, "Well done Eurea." He says, smiling.

"That was a great Mel." Callan remarked, as he considers the technique. It was the same type of move he used against many of his challengers in his gym, to use their own advantages against them.

"This is the last Pokemon standing between you and kyle lopez, Mel." Callan unclips his Ultra Ball from his belt. His eyes harden as he looks towards Melody.

"Come out Bowie!" He tosses out his final Pokemon. An explosion of light expels a familiar form to her.

Bowie, the Illumina Toxtricity stands six feet in front of Callan as it walks into the center of the stage. In its right hand, a thunderbolt in the shape of an electric guitar. Callan himself moves to the side, taking his Stratocaster, now modified to be plugless, in his hands. He slings the guitar over his shoulder, and rests his hand on the fretboard.

"You played a song for me in your Elite Four battle." Callan began. "Now, I will play you a song, a send off to the Top Champion, or one that signifies your defeat."

Callan begins to strum a tune. Something fitting for the champion-to-be. Bowie begins to play in accordance, TAUNTING Melody's Magearna as Toxtricity locks her out of being able to use any moves other than attacking ones. "Give me everything you've got."

It worked! Yes! The battle played out in the best scenario for her, she managed to dump her bad stats onto gardevoir and lessen the damage while also boosting her own via SOUL HEART. [break][break]

The climax of the song was quickly approaching and Callan was pushing her as he immediate sends out one of his ace pokemon. Toxtricity, this own thing gave her hell during her own E4 challenge, however she had a better idea of it's limits because of it.. "Alright! Let's dance then! Magearna!" she orders as her pumped up energy and psychotic smile showed just how eager she was to coninue. [break][break]

Magearna becomes victim to toxtricity's TAUNT sealing off the power of heart swap and defense curl for 3 turns and Melody decides to go on the offensive instead. Magearna joined her two arm cannons together, anticipating Melody's order "Crescendo!" [break][break]

Magearna began to shine with a dazzling pink light as her arm cannon peeled back even further, growing larger in size as it was clear this was her strongest move. "Aurora! Fire!" she says knowing that even if callan redirected it with spotlight it wouldn't be effective against her and a FLEUR CANNON is launched towards toxtricity

The FLEUR CANNON fires towards Bowie which makes no attempt to deflect the attack. The strike lands square against the Toxtricity's body, taking a third of its health. Even though Fairy moves were not as effective against Poison Types, the damage was significant due to Magearna's high Special Attack and the boost it gained from its Ability.

"OVERDRIVE!" Callan responded, as Bowie played its guitar, strumming lightning bolts at the Magearna.

Her move managed to do a good amount of damage luckily despite the typing disadvantage. Callan quickly retaliates with an over drive, it's steel typing cushioning the blow, but this was one of Callan's ace pokemon and Magearna tries to hold out but it's body begins to shut down and short circuit. "Aurora!" she says in a panic as the pokemon faints and Melody recalls it. [break][break]

She did really well there, she helped melody pull it off. "Whelp, looks like we're both down to our last one huh?" she comments as he knew already what she had as her final partner. "Sadly for you, this Lapras is gonna be the winner of our duel." she says grinning as Melody pulls out her ring keystone. "Lapras!" she says tossing it out and wasting no time setting up, activating her MEGA EVOLUTION [break][break]

It grows larger as the temperature around the room drops, the water droplets in the air crystalizing in a musical note formation around lapras as it's shell expands. "Let's go! Max RESONSNACE" she says as ice droplets coalesce above TOXTRICITY and drops down on the pokemon while simultaneously creating an AURORA VEIL for her pokemon.

Callan couldn't help but grin as Melody's Lapras mega evolved, the temperature in the room dropping and the water droplets in the air crystallizing into musical notes. He knew this was going to be a challenging situation for him to handle, but he couldn't deny the thrill of a hard-fought battle. "We'll see!" He roars.

His Toxtricity was struck by the G-Max Resonance, the powerful attack sending ice droplets crashing down on the Pokémon. It teetered on the edge of consciousness, but miraculously, it managed to hold on. Callan knew it was time for a counterattack.

With a confident nod, Callan launched into a powerful riff on his guitar, the notes syncing with Toxtricity's TERAVOLT TURNABOUT. The move amplified Callan's song, bolstering Toxtricity's stats and healing its wounds. The Toxtricity, reinvigorated, unleashed a SLUDGE WAVE at the mega evolved Lapras.

As the poisonous wave hurtled towards Mel's Lapras, Callan couldn't help but feel a surge of adrenaline. This clash of titans, the thrilling back-and-forth, was what he lived for. And he wouldn't back down without a fight.

Melody shouts out, anticipating callan immediately counter attacking right after the aurora veil was set up. Thankfully the sludge wave wasn't super effective, melody was more concerned about the electric moves as they would be the thing that does her in. [break][break]

Lapras's natural bulk alongside it's aurora veil easily takes the SLUDGE WAVE as she prepares her counter attack. "Bass!" she shouts as Lapras obeys and begins to rush forward with a DRILL RUN as it attempts to get a CRITICAL HIT by aiming to slam into toxtricity now that it has no access to any healing abilities. Or..at least it shouldn't normally, callan always has something up his sleeve.

This battle. It felt extremely different from her one with him in his gym, she was smiling, she stared at his toxtricity with dagger like eyes, a massive grin on her face as the determination to win was plastered all over her.

He knew it was coming, a 4X weak type to ground. The DRILL RUN would have destroyed his Toxtricity in its normal state, even with boosted parameters.

"It won't be that easy Mel!" Callan grins, as he pulls out his TERA ORB and TERASTALIZES his Toxtricity.

Crystal encasings enshroud the Toxtricity like armor as it strikes against the Lapras with its Electric Guitar. The blow is still powerful, dropping Callan's Toxtricity below 50% once again.

"OVERDRIVE!" Callan yells. Right now, it was a foregone conclusion for him, Mel had set up the conditions to win.

But that was what made it fun if he could think his way out of it.

Electricity courses out in shockwaves towards the Lapras, but with Aurora Veil and its Mega-Evolution, it'd be able to withstand at least two or three of these.

The boomburst collides with Lapras as the AURORA VEIL dampens the strength of the move. It was useful that she had faced off against this toxtricity before, despite the remix callan threw in with this tera typing, Melody was one step ahead as she was glad her and callan's strategies were so similar. All she had to do was ask herself what she'd have her own toxtricity would do.

Melody smirks as she pulls out a tera orb from behind her. "Sorry Callan. I've heard yours and my own toxtricity's song before. So I came prepared! LAPRAS!" she says as the tera orb begins to shiny with a grey silverly light as Melody blows a kiss with the tera orb to Callan and strikes a quick pose before tossing the orb over lapras as crystals cover her body.[break][break]

LAPRAS IS NOW TERA TYPE: STEEL. [break][break]

"Terrastalizing sure is a fun twist to battling. LAPRAS! Aria!" she orders as Lapras roars and sparkles of light glimmer across the battle field as lapras and melody used their signature move SPARKLING ARIA

Callan watched as Melody's Lapras transformed from Water and Ice to Steel with her Terastalization. "Bravo!" Callan exclaimed, as Bowie's OVERDRIVE lands with little effect after passing through the Aurora Veil.

As the SPARKLING ARIA ripples throughout the air, it crashes against Bowie's OVERDRIVE like a violent metal concert, a caacophany of sound which at the very end, blows out Bowie flying backwards from the force of the shockwave. As it lands and rolls on the ground, stumbling to get back up, Callan stops the battle.

"That's enough Bowie, you did great." Callan replied, smiling as he returns the Toxtricity to its Ultra Ball.
