Situated back behind her mahogany desk, the councilwoman kept glued to her computer screens, tapping away without end. Bitter thoughts were barely kept at bay by the low hum of jazz music playing off in the background.

It wasn't to her taste, but in the office, there were no better alternatives.

"Your 2'o clock is here," her receptionist chimed in. As always, it sounded like Matias held no regard for the proper protocols of visitation. Not that she blamed him - if it were her on the other side, she would've assumed priority as well.

When the door swings open, MATIAS SILPH would be greeted with the pleasant sight of the newly decorated office space. Motivational framed pictures now dotted the backside of her wall, with newly implemented chairs to pull the whole red and gold color scheme together.

Does she even need to state the obvious? No, to be frank, there'd be too much bitterness to swallow. Eva Morales was his first, and would always lay claim to his heart, and while that fact was one she'd have to choose to live with, the annoyance it wrung out of her was undeniable. Something she'd rather leave to another conversation, or if possible, no conversation at all.

Penelope's lips pressed together. Taut, they kept there, a thin line of defense against the story he'd spun.
