Fear forced her eyes shut. There was no telling what they would see in the reflection of his eyes. Of who she would see.

Instead, she focused on the rhythm of their movements. How each tear of clothing came with the fall of another heartbeat; how she would've traveled down his neck, then his chest, until the heat of his body forced her into a dizzied fool; how, if Penelope squeezed her eyes tight enough, his face would dissipate, only to be replaced with another's.
