He felt the lift and fall of it in his gut, relishing in the feeling of being weightless for a few moments until she spread her wings and caught the air, spiraling slowly down to land.

He hopped off his ride and looked out over the expanse of the city, out to the beach and the sea beyond. It was all so calm and peaceful, early sunset covering everything peachy, the wind brisk and smelling of salt.

It wouldn’t last. Especially not if busting this underground fighting bullshit went the way everything went for him (which was tits up, by the by).

There was the creak of heavy door hinges and Memo turned to see who had come up to the roof. He was semi-undercover, wearing his civilian clothes, and a green bandana to keep his hair back. He’d have to find out of they were an innocent civilian-- maybe a waitress, out for a smoke-- or if they were more deeply involved, and arrest them.

Coming up to the roof for a quiet minute of relaxation for an hour or two, she opened the door and found that there was a man wearing a green bandana around his head who asked her if she came up here for the view of Lilycove City. “Yes, if you are curious of why I’m coming up to the roof. Lilycove’s view is marvelous up from the streets.” Her reply came with a curious need to know what the other guy was doing up there.[break][break]

“I would assume you have the same reason for being up there at the roof?” The woman asked, wondering if he too was one to enjoy the view of the city from the roof above. The sea had a shade of blue like the ocean near Olivine City which she remembered coming there as a young girl. The city she lived now had a similar view of the bright blue ocean waters.

She asked him why he was up here and he nodded. He didn’t know who she was and while he didn’t really get illegal streetfighter vibes from her he couldn’t be too careful.

“Just getting some fresh air before going back to work.” He pointed down at the building below them. “I work the floor at the… the fights.”

If she knew she knew and if she didn’t, she didn’t.

In the perspective of someone who lived in Lilycove City and hadn’t traveled to Fortree City much except for coming to the monthly renaissance fair that would be held for many fans of medieval history and high fantasy novels. “I went to Fortree for a renaissance fair, so I do think their view is just as good. The treehouses make the city have a nicer nature-like feel.” She gives him a little nod since there were cities that had good views over beautiful landscapes.[break][break]

He answers her question with getting some fresh air before returning to his work while she watches him look towards the building and a mention of working the floor at the fights makes her a bit curious. “Fights? Do you mean those illegal cage matches held in those floors?” The dark magenta-haired woman replies where she may have seen those happen in those buildings which weren’t legal at all.

Fortree was, in his mind, so much better than Lilycove. It was breathtaking and magical and thinking about it made his heart hurt because it was currently so tumultuous.

“Yeah, the illegal ones in the basement,” he said, relaxing a bit. She knew, and she wasn’t integrated with them-- at least, not to the point where telling her would blow his cover. “I heard through the grapevine there’s going to be a radi tonight so… gotta be on my toes.”

He went to push through the ceiling access door and head inside, turning his body so she could follow.
