The Roaring Moon that they've contained remains defiant, angrily unleashing a DRAGON BREATH at the draconic Aerodactyl that hovers just out of reach above. To subdue these vicious attempts, Othniel opens its maw and delivers a SUPERSONIC pulse that serves to disorient the beast. Remiel only tears his attention away from the scene long enough to realize Annalise's Altaria has just saved his skin.

"This battle is as good as over," Remiel responds with a nod, reaching towards his belt for an empty Luxury Ball on hand. With a swift throw, it consumes the dizzy Roaring Moon and almost immediately clicks with a critical capture. The prince issues his own sigh of relief afterward before stepping ahead to go grab it. His Aerodactyl, in the meantime, roars victoriously and dances around in the air.

It isn't long before the former regroups with Annalise, however. "Well done, ranger," He smiles, holding out his Luxury Ball as if to clink glasses together. "I can see your self-demotion made you no less formidable."

"I have much more free time these days for training, so I'm certainly glad it shows." Remiel smiles in response, latching his latest capture to his belt. Without the duties of ambassadorship, or running political espionage and international smuggling as Admin, the royal was finally granted a proverbial breath of fresh air.

Nevertheless, it's his abilities as an AVATAR that ultimately catch Annalise's interest. "It's no secret at all, though I suppose the specifics of my abilities aren't common knowledge either. I'm ZEKROM's avatar."

He'd made the announcement himself at the first A.Q.U.A. INITIATIVE meeting. He'd proven it during the MEGALOPOLAN WAR at Mauville. And, since then, the entire world knew of Galar's crown prince and his coronation as Zekrom's exalted. Even so, Remiel had always endeavoured to keep a low profile on that status and its powers.

with the aforementioned dragons gone, the interdream mist settles heavily around them. the clarity of the forest is no longer muddled by wingbeats and pokemon attacks. it really does look just like the backdrop of his otome, now that she glances around.

Based on her initial response, and the slightly unconvincing expression on her face, Remiel is beginning to think she knew all along. Perhaps she thought he'd appreciate the surprise. It brings a gentle and amused smile to his face to think she thought that he would care about that sort of thing. It was a small gesture, but sweet nonetheless.

She was already in his good graces anyway, but answering her questions regarding his avatarship came easily for it.

"I can't speak for other avatars but, for the most part, my ability to cast lightning has always felt natural... if that makes any sense." Remiel answers, escorting her further into the cave. Taking a moment to look over his shoulder and gauge her understanding, he decides to continue with his explanation. "I suppose it's a lot like... walking. You do it with purpose, but you don't really think about putting one foot in front of the other."

Remiel nods in agreement with Annalise's response. "Sorry for the misunderstanding, but you're precisely right. I did, in fact, have to teach myself how to cast lightning through trial and error. But what I meant to convey was that it came as naturally as a toddler teaching himself how to walk."

Realizing he was comparing himself to a baby now, however, made him pause for a moment as he fought to suppress the warm red glow of a blush appearing on his cheeks. "That's a rather embarrassing comparison, though, isn't it?" He chuckles. "I can cast a bolt on command effortlessly now, but I assure you I do it with much more responsibility than a child would. You're free to report that to the Ranger Corps as well."

The few run-ins he'd had with them before, after all, had painted him in a negative light. For all he knew, there was already a poster of him on the wanted board. And it likely read: FOREIGN PRINCE ON THE LOOSE WHO PRACTICES ARCHAEOLOGY WITHOUT PERMITS.

"Speaking of the Ranger Corps, did you enjoy your time there in leadership, Annalise?" He inquires, accidentally brushing his hand against hers as they scale a cavernous step together.

The exiled prince finds himself pleased with Annalise's understanding. He is also saddled with the realization that he is speaking more freely about his abilities than usual. After being a part of Team Rocket and S.P.E.C.T.R.A. for so long, he supposes the innate suspicion he'd built up for those who were part of the League had stuck around.

Nevertheless, he reminds himself that he is now a part of the League, too, and chimes in with shared laughter afterward as well. "That's certainly one way to get to the top of AQUA's watchlist. Though it's not the kind of attention I'd imagine anyone would want."

There's a brief pause between this topic and the next. Remiel shifts his gaze over to the blonde to try and figure out why. Just then, however, she gives him an answer. "Is that so? Sounds very... claustrophobic. I can see why you prefer fieldwork. I'm very much the same, actually. Inn a way, I've always had an affair with on-site archaeology during my tenure as ambassador."

As if reacting to his words, their surroundings shift to reveal glimpses into ancient Draconid ruins and Hisuian temples. Remiel has seen these places before and knows these surroundings to be little more than illusions born of the interdream mist. It is, for this reason, he doesn't jump on the chance to 'explore' them, keeping his focus on Anna.

"Perhaps we could work together sometime. Your expertise of Hoenn's terrain would be invaluable."

She inspires a chuckle from him here and there, and the enthusiasm with which she regards the dreamlike scenes surrounding them is heartwarming for the exiled prince to see. Needless to say, her approval of the idea of a joint effort in exploration brings a smile to his face as well. They were sure to accomplish a lot together.

"Me? Joining the ranger corps?" Remiel reiterates, a hint of amused disbelief in his voice as he imagines it. "I'm not sure they'd want Galarian royalty with a record, Annalise..." He adds, speaking of his run-ins with rangers before. Though, in addition, his history with Rocket, too...

Annalise certainly makes some valid points that the royal cannot simply ignore. He thinks back on his meeting with dahlia goode and the promises he'd made to right his wrongs and be of service to Hoenn. Such big promises and aspirations were more than just a bid for self-preservation, and perhaps by joining the Ranger Corps he could prove that.

Even so, the doubts of his own worth persisted.

"I don't know..." He sighs, stopping to address a tall ridge in front of him before climbing his way up. Once he's reached the upper level, Remiel takes a moment to dust his hands and poncho clean before reaching down to help Annalise up with a hand. "Frankly, I don't know how you're able to look past my mistakes so easily..." He adds, a somewhat sad smile etched across his face in the cave-light.
