the expansion of the rifts had been discussed prior to all of this. no surprise there. the call she’d received from rocket’s labs while in the middle of her remote work was not what she’d expected, however.[break][break]

though ultimately on her way to join the likes of head scientists oscar clayton and Naomi Sato deeper in the mist, she had one thing to do first.[break][break]

Communications with Rocket brass further afield finds itself interrupted by meddling League signals; who better for Gavin to call upon than his own sister? Her pursuits had shifted to the scientific upon joining the organization, but she hadn't forgotten her old tricks.[break][break]

Though she wouldn't be able to see his grin, she'd surely hear the light lilt to his tone as he replies, "Bit more chaotic than Galar, I'd wager."[break][break]

The Dragons had been ruthless, but he doubts they'd had avatars and Ultra Beasts running around.[break][break]

Thoughts of Necrozma sober Gavin, who still struggles to separate the monster from Chu-e Choi.[break][break]

He'd seen the Blackout of Slateport, and the frantic reports coming out of Galar had felt reminiscent of that complete darkness, the eternal void.[break][break]

chaos? was that what her brother was after? either way, she guessed they were in for more than any of them could manage.[break][break]

”yeah, alright. don’t go too far, then.”[break][break]

pz-02 beeped as it left the computer, and she stashed it away again in a bag over her shoulders. it would be left elsewhere, before she went deeper into the rift.

though there were other ways to ascend, she looked at the jagged path ahead and then reached back into a pocket of her bag. eyed the mysterious ore curiously in her hand, before smashing it against the rocks.[break][break]

a light gasp left her and she watched in awe as a better path filled in, rocks aligning up towards the rift, where lugia’s silhouette beckoned.[break][break]

she would rise to meet them and follow, curious to witness what the beginning of this takeover might look like.
