Paxton is already clicking Tango's pokeball desperately. But the pokeball doesn't react and the beam of red light doesn't shoot out to retrieve him. And as the Rockets encroach, he spots a dark red smear at the edge of cracked earth and a broken, sunken spot on the miniature cliff. [break][break]

And then Lam snaps him out of it and he looks towards the oncoming threat. Paxotn drops his pokeball, smashing it wit ha stomp of his heel and shuddering breath. "Go!" He ordered, turning to give chase with Lam as he reached for another pokeball. Hopper comes out again beeping quickly for orders. "Hopper, Outpost Bravo, we're taking Lam and his bird." he explained as the Porygon encircles the running pair once before flashing brightly to TELEPORT the group out of danger.

Lam’s shoulders slump as the trapinch fails to return to his trainer. Already, he’s experienced something similar. Though admittedly, he’s glad for the other’s sake it wasn’t quite as…visceral as Ginger’s death had been. The sounds and glimpse of her mangled body linger in his mind now, though for the most part, he’s shoved it into dark corners of his brain to be processed later.[break][break]

What’s important now is getting outta there. The Pokémon trapped in the pits created by Tango continue to bellow, and the crumbliness of the ground under his own feet spell the potential for disaster. Luckily, he doesn’t seem to need to shake Cassidy further. He snaps to attention quickly with decisive action. Lam follows the order to sprint away as Poppy sails through the air a few feet above them.[break][break]

It’s not until their place slows so that they can TELEPORT that Lam gives the other a pat on the shoulder, empathy in his expression. “Sorry about your friend, man.”

Hopper does his best, chirping and beeping at the pair of humans as he noticed Paxton's head slump a little. The pat on the shoulder is appreciated. He takes his helmet off looking over at Lam. "Yeah, it's...unfortunate." he said with a small shrug.

"You and your partner are ok though? So, mission accomplished." he said give the guy a small pat before taking a deep breath in. "C'mon, let's head out. The next post is hidden in this big kelp field past that hill." he explained as he wiped the sweat off his forehead and blinked away tears before putting back on his helmet.
