After a discussion with Gavin, and Isaac both, Ashley finds himself here, blocking the entrance to the cave. He looks more awake, and as he now has time to reflect, he finds it hard to focus. Out of his Pokeball, Holy Diver the Buizel attempts to place a small towel on his forehead. To calm him down.[break][break]

Ash smiles quietly. He's so tired. How is he even operating today, let alone moving? After those murders yesterday... he can still feel the weight on his shoulders. Isaac and Gavin truly did their best, but.[break][break]

He has to live with it now. But it doesn't mean he has to let them completely weigh down on him.[break][break]

When footsteps are approaching, Ashley pushes off the wall, his Buizel at his side. His mask kept his nose and mouth hidden, his cap would at least make it really hard to recognize him, but not impossible. "Where do you think you're going?" He calls out into the cave...[break][break]

Only to see a familiar sight.

By now, more of the portals were opening up as the rift continued to tear open. He knew that he had to meet up with annalise henderson soon, but before then, he wanted to make sure that he checked the other end.

Recognition. He scowls. Ashley doing his best to look away. His facial expression was mostly hidden thanks to his mask, but at the very least, this guy recognized him. And Ashley recognized him too.[break][break]

The guy who he tried to kill during his mental breakdown.[break][break]

"Yeah. It's me." He sounds a lot more calm, exhausted even, as he yawns in his mask. Only to look the man over. He's a lot more in control over himself this time.[break][break]

With a sharp inhale, he becomes stoic. "I have to apologize for Mt. Pyre. You happened to meet me at my lowest point. Lost three important Pokemon to me that day, and I treat them like family. Not pets. You just happened to get the short straw. Sorry." He ruffles Holy Diver's head, as he softly eyes the weasel... and turns his gaze back to Ollie.[break][break]

His eyes squint. The black bags hanging low.[break][break]

"However. You're not getting past me. I'm not gonna try to shoot or kill you. That's a showing of that apology." The Buizel takes a step in front of him, crossed arms. Holy Diver was ready to make it down to the midnight sea. "That's it though. So turn back now."[break][break]

He's dead serious.

[break][break] Awkwardness made the air feel stilted. Ollie tried hard to bury down all the trauma that had occurred on Mt. Pyre but it was moments like this that he couldn't just ignore it. Couldn't just bat it away with a joke and a smile.

[break][break] His throat is thick with indecision.

[break][break] "Listen, I - " he hesitates. "I know what it's like. I lost pokemon then too. It was - " One of your own. "Fucked up. I'm sorry whoever did that to you. No one deserves that."

It's... comforting. To see someone attempting to pull him to the League's side. To see the good in him. When all he can do now, for some reason, is look at the bad. To see what wrongs he has committed, the bad decisions he has made. The lives he has already taken today.[break][break]

He pulls his mask down a bit, and gives Ollie a smile. Relenting just a moment, he tries to give Ollie what he asks for. For just a moment.[break][break]

"Thank you. For what it's worth... I think it's too late for someone like me. That curse was on me since birth. I'm glad someone on your side can see past that."[break][break]

He pulls the mask back up, Holy Diver getting on all fours, and preparing to go. Serious eyes staring down the opposition.[break][break]

"My name is Sawyer. Rocket Elite. You won't get past me." He points towards Holy Diver, the Buizel smirking towards Ollie.[break][break]

"Turn back. Or fight."[break][break]

He was a Rocket, after all.

He just liked Sawyer more than Sheperd.[break][break]

But to not want to battle, Ashley scowls, and shrugs. "Your call, man. You're not moving past me regardless. Guess we'll just stare at one another aimlessly." What a way to take it. Not a clash of steel, but ideals. Holy Diver pauses, tapping on his little paw as he looks towards Ollie annoyed. Puffed out little weasel cheeks, as he turns away.[break][break]

If it's that way, Ash just leans against the cave wall.[break][break]

"So be my guest. Moment you try, my bud here will Aqua Jet you into a wall."[break][break]

It was that simple. Option A, fight. Option B, retreat. Option C, ceasefire. No D through Z.

Completely taken by surprise, Ashley had been geared so heavily for combat, that he didn't see it coming. That, and with this Ranger placing his fingers slowly to his ears, his brain doesn't compute fast enough to catch it. And neither does Holy Diver.[break][break]

Ashley finds his legs weak, as they shiver and shake, and with the Blissey belching off the muse, Holy Diver hits the floor with a snore, and Ashley, barely able to stay awake, reaches for his pistol.[break][break]

And stops.[break][break]

He just turns his mask back up, turns to Ollie and nods. "Fair-" Yawn. "-enough."[break][break]

Ashley is out cold.
