(T) SEPIKS ☿ | LEVITATE - ancient power, cosmic power, earth power, hyper beam, rapid spin, teleport

every cautious step the lone ranger makes brings him closer to one of two things. but while it was obvious to them that the league held an advantage in numbers, it seemed that derek was running into opposition everywhere he looked. odds were it'd happen again.

his search for annalise henderson was over. not because he'd found her, but because derek had given up. at least his thoughts were with her... guilt riddles away at the core. shame causes him to lose sight of the mission. the fact he's walking right towards the enemy, eyes and feet drifting aimlessly. it's not until the alarming sound of his claydol that derek snaps to attention. a single figure stands before him.

do they speak first, or attack while his guard was down?

Once again, after loosing his decoy to FERNANDO SILPH , he wandered aimlessly through Ultra Deep Sea trying to locate any of the other decoy teams to assist in their distractions. He moved quiet, a map tracking his past movements and slowly mapping the area for him. It's crude, but he at the very least see elevation every pulse. As he trekked slowly downhill he noted a silent, almost dopey looking ranger walking through rock and alien grass. [break][break]

His own body is starting to grow its own kelp. Or maybe it was just sticking to him after traversing through. He locks eyes as they slowly look up but Mint's already sprinting into action. A small Pinurchin on his back jumps off him, ELECTRIC SURGE imbuing the ground beneath them with electrical energy. Alert, and focused, Mint moves in, aiming to sucker punch punch his Grill Daddy.

the individual of lesser stature rushes derek, who is unsure of their intentions for the electric terrain. yet it's distracting enough, as he takes the sucker punch to his cheekbone.

the ranger reels back a pace or two. "cheap fuck!" cursing as he brings a hand to his cheek, derk looks to his claydol, whose well within range. "blast'em!" their offensive came in the form of an earth power, which birthed a violent eruption of the earthen mantle below the pincurchin's position.

his eyes drag themselves back towards his opponent. "go ahead. try that again." bringing the bracelet-like device over his fist, derek brandishes the megastone accessory like some kind of brass knuckle.

He lands, and the LED panel on the helmet lights up with an electronic grin. His Pinurchin surges forward, crawling and inching towards the Claydoll with surprising speed. It's small though, and when EARTH POWER is summoned, the ground he's on is lifted upwards and the little pokemon went flying. It attempted to right itself, spinning and angling itself to land closed to the Claydol than it began. Puffy yellow lips? dribble with water before blasting off a WATER GUN at the psychic type. [break][break]

Mint doesn't hesitate, feeling something akin to a childish rush of glee at annoying someone. He doesn't need permission, already moving in close to Derek to drop for a sweep kick, aiming to get him a bit off balance. "C'mon, c'mon! Turn a little faster!"

having allowed his pokemon to take over the reigns of their battle, there is no hesitation to teleport away from the foe's water gun. the distance between them is even greater now, but there's no telling how long that'll last.

if it were anything like the rocket who trained them, they'd continue to press the claydol. derek is no martial artist, but he's able to identify a threat when he sees one. the sweeping motion of their leg coming low to take him off his feet.

derek does leave his footing, but not for this reason. like in the movies, he attempts a drop kick in place.

"C'mon, c'mon! The world will follow after!" The Beast continued, electronic voice unbothered as the ex gym leader reacts to his attacks. He doens't quite expect the drop kick, falling on his ass and rolling backwards as one of Derek's feet land on his clavicle. [break][break]

But even grunting and coughing, he pops back up, fists held up loosely in front of him. He drops back into the rhytym with another, "C'mon, C'mon!" He runs for Grill Papi not wanting to waste a chance to return the favor with a short jab in his chest. "Because everybody's after loooooooove!" [break][break]

As he moves, his Pinurchin hops, seemingly matching and reacting to his trainer's singing. It gives chase to the dual type, beady yellow eyes locked onto one of the many the Claydoll had. As he closes in, Papa the Pinurchin readies a SUCKER PUNCH to keep pushing the pokemon farther away form the fight between Grill Father and Grill Son.

the improvised drop kick leaves derek off balance. a scuffed landing on all fours alots ample time for the rocket to close in as derek rises to a stand. the quick jab makes contact square on the chest, causing a pained grunt to push through gritted teeth. he reels back to put some space between them, bringing up both hands in case he has further need to guard.

the pincurchin lands a similar strike, their sucker punch forcing the claydol down to the ground. "start shooting already!" sepiks adheres to the command, promptly releasing a blast (hyper beam) towards the opponent. "and you, shut up with all that singing already!"

claydol is hurt badly by sucker punch

"What? You don't like Counting Crows?" he asked unrelenting in his taunting. Mint doesn't give chase as Derek puts distance between them, but he's still grinning. He holds up his own hands in loose fists in front of his helmet and takes a fighting stance. "Accidentally In Love is a classic. Figured it'd lighten the mood." he added watching Derek to see if he'd bother hitting back or if this was an attempt to flee. [break][break]

Before the Pinurchin can follow up on the downed Claydoll it blasts a HYPER BEAM that pushes the pokemon off and up into the air, landing some distance nearby, dazed but alive. He gets up after a moment not wanting to wait to close the distance and instead shoots out a WATER GUN from its new position.

"no, i do-" derek isn't able to finish his remark. disaster strikes, the water gun launched from the pincurchin piercing one of it's many eyes. the motionless vessel falls over, lifeless, the exit wound leaking a color that was not water.

their attempts to lighten the mood failed. the audacity to suggest such a thing as they sought to terminate the opposition... it was unacceptable. but derek could at least return the favor.

releasing his steelix, the ranger gives it the green light. "crush them!" towering over it's puny opponent, the steel leviathan lunges into the air. and what goes up must come down. the body press is sure to bury the thing deeper than a mere six feet...
