”Sounds like a plan, we’ll do that. I can do with a good meal anyway, I’m starving. Been out here since the break of dawn.” He said as he leaned forward, he knew the tunnels in this place as well as a man could, though his reasons were not particularly good.

”Damn, they’re back up and running huh?” He said as he went into his inner pocket, and pulled out a bang of his own, gripping it tightly until the moment he turned around another corner and threw it backwards, the sound of it was audible as they raced out; entering into a wide cavern once again.

”Not long left, you leave anything behind?” His tone was tinged with amusement, it wasn’t as if there was a chance of him turning around to grab anything around that place.

he tries to recall if he actually left something behind. he parses his belongings, and notices a pokeball missing.

"shit, i might've been mugged," he answers, but he's uncertain about himself about that information. "i don't know if it's the paranoia from the rift or not though. i think i've been there just as long as you are."

did he actually have one with him since the start or not? he feels like his head is playing games with him, but also not. the confusion doesn't stay long as he forces himself to focus on what he can do instead of worrying about the past.

"i don't know what other preparation you need besides healing your pokemon, but let me know what you need and i got you."

Jett could feel it; this place was indeed strange, he had seen all manner of strange visions, and he’d seen that strange space too, but that was one thing. ”Shit, you sure?” He said as he gripped another sticky globe, ready to turn another corner and throw it against the ceiling so it could drip down; the drop of stickiness.

But that gave them more space. ”Shit, that sucks. You aight? We’ll get ‘em back later, alongside their pokemon. Might as well free them up, get them to see a new light.” He would need to look at his plan from the ground up again, but they would take it back.

The workings of this cave were still too strange for him, but they’d soon be getting out of here, one or two more turns, and it was freedom.

realistically, the fate of that pokemon was already decided. hopeful thinking does little to kyle, but for someone who was trying their best to be idealistic, kyle doesn't want his pessimism to muddle the mood.

instead of staying in that topic, he decides to start a new one.

"how about those guys?"

as they near the entrance of the cave, guards from the other faction can be spotted. they stand and block the way, though from what kyle can tell, they've been waiting for instructions from the inside.

"are we liberating their pokemon too, or...?"

he's done so before, but stopped since he felt bad stripping pets away from their owners. with enough coaxing though, he's sure he can convince himself to go back to his old ways.

”We’ll just have to see.” He said as his eyes landed on the guardsman, the two of them could handle this, with Cyclizar; he didn’t feel like he could lose to anyone. His pokemon was strong, but beyond that, there were others that he could call on just as well. His eyes closed, he took in a deep breath.

”Well, I have a couple of options, but you’re up first, Garlette.” His scyther took to the air the moment she was released from her pokeball, rubbing her scythe-like limbs against one another as the two rocket men stepped up, to stop them from getting through. But that initiative was important, a quick, and dirty sword’s dance that would open up the doors for her.

”Shift gears buddy.” He whispered lowly, but the rest was going to be up to Kyle. ”We’ll win, and decide what we do after. You’re still on for that meal right?” His voice was jovial, it was a disrespect in some ways, but that was fine as his Scyther began her acrobatics just as two pokemon came out of their pokeballs.

A medicham, and a Gyarados came to see the light, the latter released a large roar across the space.

kyle lets his lucario out.

"always. dewford has this nice, seaside hole-in-the-wall kinda restaurants near its beaches that i'd show you, but they might be closed because of all the racket. worst case scenario, free food at the league's makeshift base of operations."

they had one in the city just for this day alone. it's probably just some tents and hastily set up picnic areas, but it'll do.

"detect."

the lucario rushes forward, sharp eyes reading the movements now that he's entered their aggro zone. a high jump kick from the medicham misses, crashing into the sand, while the gyarados' crunch bites the air.

both misses open up an opportunity for the scyther to go in without fear of both of them countering right away.

Jett didn’t really pay attention to the battle, he trusted his pokemon to come out on top, and battling alongside kyle lopez. It was a simple matter, and so he chatted about potential sites for a meal.

”I’d love an Enchilada, or maybe a Taco, that’d be great. You remember the Taco’s the matron used to make? The cheese she used to make is out of this world, I wonder if she got it from Johtonian milktanks…” He said as he wondered on it, they had different flavours.

But as Lucario dodged the blows, and created the opening for his Scyther, Garlette cut through the air. It was a fast movement, it was quicker than usual as she began to dance; gliding in the air like a ballerina, an acrobat, the spins, and twirls before she delivered a series of attacks right before the moment.

The moment in which she touched down on the ground, right as she struck the Medicham, and the Gyarados, between taking the recoil of its crash, and taking an attack it was very weak to, Medicham found itself collapsing even before it could be mega evolved, but the Gyarados had the chance as it began to glow brightly.

”Alright, now let’s wrap it up before it gets too long.” He said as he looked at the pokemon in front of them.

he waits until the mega evolution is done before he lets his lucario strike.

with the scyther attacking, the attention gets shifted from the lucario to jett's pokemon. the mega gyarados charges at it with a waterfall, only to get knocked aside when his lucario hits it with an aura sphere, now super effective thanks to the change of typing.

"yeah, i've always tried out a lot of places, but nothing beats that. even the high-end ones aren't even up to par. i'll take you to this one food park place on slateport, my treat. there's this one guy that serves tacos that can come close to her tacos."

he would've come in there and take their pokemon, masking it as 'confiscation of deadly weapons', but the food talk makes him forget all about it and focus more on lunch.

when he checks his wristwatch, the rush just gets warranted more.

"wait, we should hurry. the ambiance of having a full restaurant's part of its charm."

Jett looked at him, before nodding. ”Alright Garlette, wrap it up. Lucario’s done the heavy lifting, do the double hit.” He said as his Scyther did exactly that, a double hit against the pokemon, each significantly harder than a strike of that class should have been, putting the mega evolved from down for the count, a double strike by the two of them was too intense.

That was fine just as well, as Jett got back onto Cyclizar. ”Let’s hit the rush then.” So, the two men who were too self-involved in their catch-up, had ended up breezing past the men which guarded the opening, their pokemon hot on their tails.

”I’m holding you to that slateport deal. I haven’t been there in…Forever, so we better try some of those tacos. We both know the Matron won’t let me back in there.” His laughter was loud, it echoed in the cave right until the moment that the sun’s light blessed their skin once more.
