"i know, jonesy. i know..." the bitter clutch of cold stripped many of any semblance of comfort. even in their specially designed coats utilizing the warmest of furs, the two of them were freezing their ass off.

"you'll get used to it." derek tries to encourage the sobble. but he's also persuading himself at the same time. it won't be much longer. there had to be wild pokemon around here somewhere. if they'd managed to last this long in the icelands, they would definitely be worth training.

"you can go back inside your ball after we find something." and only after jonesy did battle, of course. this makeshift attempt at a boot camp was derek's best bet to turn the sobble into one of his ace pokemon. and he desperately wanted that, both for jonesy as well as himself...

"see? here's your chance." ushering his pokemon forward, the wild mamoswine is quick to take to the challenge. it's powder snow causes jonesy discomfort, but he braves through. "this one's weak to water."

making the most of the instruction, jonesy fires off his water pulse. going so far as to confuse his opponent, they are fortunate to find that the mamoswine hurts itself.

"again!" the second wave is just as effective, if not more so. toppling over, the sobble looks back excitedly to it's trainer after overcoming the large creature.

he offers the pokeball to jonesy to escape the cold, but the sobble declines. "oh, so now you want to stay out here?" derek can't help but chuckle. seems like his machamp's ego has rubbed off on jonesy. "alright, then let's find you another one."
