the way back shouldn't have made her feel so hollow, should it? but after that battle with that one guy, and then the hallucination sort of strange shared dream things?[break][break]

yeah, francie wasn't feeling so hot. she wasn't even smiling as she made her way through the cave. her eyes were a bit glazed over as she tried to work through the whole of it. shaken didn't even begin to describe how she felt.[break][break]

but she kept telling herself she just needed to get out and get ahold of herself. so she walked through the cave, not even realizing that at some point, she'd gotten turned around. if she really wanted, she could have one of her lycanroc come out and sniff around to get her out.[break][break]

perhaps this would help her to get her head back in the game. perhaps this walk would help her to right herself.

"Better than getting pincered by the League cunts, we gotta get outta here soon," another voice responded.

The steps grew louder, inviting a confrontation, should Francie choose not to hide.

the noise and commotion of others around the counter had francie tensing. her body clenched and she reached for her belt, immediately. hearing them had her swallowing hard. she had to cross that way to get out, unfortunately.[break][break]

instead of saying anything, she pulled her midday lycanroc out and then her midnight lycanroc right behind him.[break][break]

"set it up," her tone lacked it's usual vigor, a soft whisper to her midday before turning to her midnight to say, "follow up with a harsh playdate."[break][break]

lincoln sent a barrage of sharp stones forward, a stealth rock setting up the field for her all around the unsuspecting rockets. lyonel ran forward, eyes blood red as he let loose an iron tail on whatever pokémon would first be released, unless of course the pokémon would be smart enough to dodge.

As Francie's Midday Lycanroc set up the STEALTH ROCK, The trap was sprung, and the Rockets were caught off guard as the spiked rocks shot up around them. Grunts, screams, and curses echoed through the cave, heightening the tension.

"We're under attack!" one of the Rockets shouted, hastily sending out a Mightyena. It didn't stand a chance against the Midnight Lycanroc's IRON TAIL, whimpering as it was knocked out with a single blow.

The other Rockets, now alert to the danger, sent out their Pokémon – a Seviper and a Zangoose. The Seviper lunged at the Midnight Lycanroc with an ICE FANG, while the Zangoose sharpened its claws menacingly, using Swords Dance to increase its attack power.

"push them back." and out, she means. get them out of her way, out of the cave; she's tired of being walked on and treated like some kind of porcelain doll.[break][break]

lyonel fed off of her energy, blood red eyes locking onto the seviper that bit him, the cold fang digging into his side. but he craved it. the pain didn't slow him down. as a matter of fact, the cold numbed him on contact. he simply pulled his hand up, a stone edge following the motion and jutting from the ground into the seviper, sending it hurtling back toward the preparing zangoose.[break][break]

as the two were aligned, lincoln moved along the cave wall, hitting weak points in order to create a rock slide powerful enough to hit both of the pokémon.[break][break]

usually warm, currently cooled and annoyed, honey colored eyes moved to the two rocket grunts. this was the only warning before she really decided to let her hounds loose.[break][break]

Lyonel's STONE EDGE clashed against the Seviper's ICE FANG, sending the serpent flying through the air.

At the same time, a thunderous ROCK SLIDE, courtesy of Lincoln, crashed down on the battling Pokémon. The Rockets scrambled to avoid the onslaught, recalling their Pokémon as they tried to escape the formidable trainer who had bested them. "Oh shi--" Were the last words they expressed, before they found themselves caught in the icy grasp of a Ninetales' FREEZE-DRY attack.

The would-be aggressors were turned into frigid icicles, still alive but encased in preserving ice.

With a satisfied grin, the trainer approaches Francie, silver hair and red eyes alongside his Alolan Ninetales. "Well, looks like you did my job for me." He took in her expression, noticing her eyes cold with rage. His smile drops slightly as concern paints itself over his features. "I'm Callan, you doing okay miss?"

the ice causes francie to stiffen, her body tenses. she watches carefully, both of her pokémon move toward her and keep her guarded. even from this person who seems to be a friend.[break][break]

instead of instructing them, francie returns both of them. her shoulders roll and she lets out a light laugh; it's hollow.[break][break]

"uh... i will be, eventually, i think."[break][break]

but now isn't the time. right now she's trying to get out. she looks to the other, eyes less cold and now empty. they look like they're a little lost. so too is she.[break][break]

"you wouldn't happen to know the way outta here, would you?"

Callan returns his Ninetales back into its ball and switches out his Gardevoir, who casually lifts up the three hunks of still living ice with PSYCHIC as Callan takes the girl up several layers of rock tunnel. After a brief five minute stint of otherwise silent walking, the rift out to Ever Grande was in sight.

"What were you doing in the caves miss?" Callan asked, turning towards the stranger. "I didn't expect there to be anyone in these areas outside of the three we just caught."

"Helping friends generally means moving their luggage or talking over the phone when they need your help. Not teleported into a dangerous rift and almost get caught and potentially maimed by a few wanted members of Team Rocket."

But alright, fair enough. She didn't want to share. He was fine with that.

They cross the rift and back into Ever Grande City. This time around, it was a relatively safe landing. No drops out of the sky or face first into a volcano. They stepped on solid ground on the outskirts of a desolate suburb.

"Alright, take care now." Callan said, as Eurea warps away with the three iced up Rockets. Presumably, to a prison hospital.
